Chapter 22 The Company

[Donal's Perspective]

The young man came sooner than I expected. It was quite shocking when he decided to start writing at a tender age, but I saw firm determination in his eyes.

He was only 10 years old; he was a genius, but even genius needs some time to display their brilliance.

I have to review it sincerely; after all, I made a promise.

" Okay you can sit down or come back later, this will take time. " I said.

" Ok, Uncle I will find you tomorrow. " He left after saying that.

He did tell me something about his ideas in the past few days, saying it was a fantasy book which would be popular with young adults alike.

I stared at the title, "The Hobbit". I was amused and started reading.

It was already past midnight by the time I finished the book. I didn't know how I got back from the garden to the library. I remembered a few hours ago, Patricia came, but I skillfully turned her away when I mentioned Sami's book. She was now completely used to such behavior.

I was simply shocked by the book; it had many elements that kept me intrigued to the end.

I feel like I have taken a journey, a personal journey, with the protagonist Bilbo as he had, his personal growth, and forms of heroism which were the central themes of the story, along with motifs of warfare.

There were many characters people could relate to along with fantasy elements like different races. How did the boy think of all this? I seemed to have underestimated him. I have read many books in my lifetime and written no less than a dozen of them; I could clearly see " The Hobbit" being a best-seller anywhere in the world.

Sigh, it seems like I have to call Thomas; It will be fun. He started laughing in the middle of the night.

[Samuel's room]

I woke up late. I only slept a few hours everyday for the past week, but I completed the book which at least deserves a good sleep. I feel like I have to capture all the opportunities, at least part of it, and the first step should be a firm one. I should take it easy next time to stop worrying everybody.

I refreshed myself and went to Uncle Donanld to inquire about the situation. I came to the library directly. Oscar had already informed me; I saw Uncle sitting with my manuscript and looking at me, coming, probably waiting for me.

I said, " Good morning uncle, How was the book? Did you finished it already? You look tired. " I could see by his appearance he must have stayed up last night again. Though his body seemed tired, his eyes were shining.

" Yes, I have finished the book, Did you really write " The Hobbit" in a week. I dont know whats more impressive your story telling or your work ethic; I finally feel like an old man. Hahaha" Uncle Donald said.

After laughing to his hearts content, he continued, " It is a amazing book with a great story and inspiring element. Different species living in foreign world the premise is great too, I feel like it will become a staple and a classic book in few years. I will agree to publish it in company I own, If you like the idea."

" Yes, but I want to establish a company of my own, I have many different ideas and I want a company which will cooperate with different companies. I want to create something of my own." I said solemnly.

"Hmm, but you are the heir to Rothchild family; you have a right to inherit a big chuck of our empire. Why are you so determined to do it on your own? There is more than we can spend in several lifetime." he said.

" I know what you mean uncle, but for me its not about money. I know I am too young to think these things, but I was always a burden for others, but this time I want to do something myself and save unfortunate ones like me. I know I cannot erase all of the world's problems, but I can try to take away a part of it. I want to expand the company to several branches to cover different sectors of various fields, but that is for the future. First, I want to be a writer and publish this book. " I said out loud and in my heart, solidifying my goals in life.

I will enjoy my live, and leave my legacy at the same time, helping people whenever I can and creating something that will truly belong to me.

" Well, I understand your beliefs. Our ancestors were also like you. They wanted to create an empire, so they split their descendants to different parts of the world to flourish, which ultimately resulting in what you see today. They were pioneers of their era, whether for greed or prosperity, but the result is in front of your eye. There are only a handful of people who could even look directly at us on the same level, the rest could only look up to us.

I acknowledge your desire but don't grow up so soon; I cannot see my cute nephew becoming an adult so soon. " he said jokingly.

" Well, you can discuss it with Robert and Laura; they could help you out. But I doubt they would easily agree, but I am always ready for you. Thomas Brown, managing my publishing company. I will connect you to him; he will take care of it. I am really not into business; look at my brother Kenneth for the reasoning. He didn't have time to enjoy his life until Robert took the helm.

But you would need several things first, a pen name, or you could use your original name and a name for your company. It must be something good. People tend to forget simple names, but if you could match its name to success; it could work. What do you want to call it? " he asked.

I said with a smile, " Alphabet".
