Chapter 162 Talk Show-1

Before the shoot, everyone waited as the cameraman adjusted the set. Emma was concerned about something.

" It doesn't look weird, right? I think they used too much makeup on me." Emma wanted to rub her face, but Lauren refrained from her.

" Don't worry it will not show on camera. You looked beautiful before but standing beside Sam, we have to level the playing field." Lauren chuckled.

" You are right. I often wondered about him. It feels like he is hiding a big secret." Emma stared at Samuel, who had nothing to say. Somehow it was his fault.

" I worry about my hairs too, it was already red but they added a lot more color to it." Rupert also pointed out.

" It looks fine. They had to make it like it so that others would know to stay away from you." Emma said with a smirk. She repeated what Samuel was saying and knew it would piss him off.

" Really you are doing that? At least I would not look dumb in the interview." Rupert said loudly.

" Ma, Ma. It is not good to fight. It would ruin the appeal." Lauren reprimanded both of them. Samuel thought that she was already acting as David's replacement. He always took it upon himself to act as the grownup when such a situation arose in the studio.

For the next two hours, the cast performed various poses for the camera. Lauren and her crew were responsible for the touch-up while Columbus oversaw the operation.

He was here as the guardian and a chauffeur for the kids. After the shoot, they were set to appear on a daytime television talk show to promote their movie.

The studio appointed him to accompany the cast members to the venue, it was a strange ask, but he was willing to do it for the movie's sake. He felt obligated as he was very close to these children.

After getting hundreds of shots, the cameraman was satisfied with the result. He would send the best ones to the studio. They parted ways, and Lauren was happy seeing the kids' smiles. Over the years, she had forgotten what it felt like to see a genuine smile on her client's face.

This encounter reminded her why she started this business in the first place. She seriously needs to think it through before she calls it quits.

----------------------------------------------------------

The Matilda O'Reilly Show was an American daytime variety television talk show created, hosted, and produced by actress and comedian Matilda O'Reilly. It premiered on June 10, 1996, and was still going strong.

O'Reilly was known for keeping a light-hearted nature during the show as she playfully interviewed her guests and interacted with her audience.

Topics often discussed on the show include Broadway, children, extended families and charitable works, people and organizations.

She had interviewed someone prominent figure in the entertainment industry like Streisand, who rarely granted interviews, as well as other notable actors and singers.

It was not an exaggeration to say that this interview would boost ticket sales for the movie. The talk show had already won five Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Talk Show.

The show's audience was the actual target audience for the movie as it was a family-friendly show. Columbus hoped that this interview would pull some audiences to their side.

This talk show was taped in Studio 8G in New York City, New York, and was produced and distributed by many production houses, one of which was Warner Bros. Television. But Today was special; Warner Bros Studio agreed to hold the interview in the United Kingdom, and because of this, the talk show crew had to move thousands of miles for this interview.

" Hey look at this, Pizzeria Uno had served the entire audience lunch today!" Matilda showed a pizza platter while the camera panned to get a closer look.

" That looks so good~!" John exclaimed. It was common for talk shows to have their own in-house band. It was the same for this show; John was the lead man who sometimes commented or reacted to make things more playful.

The audience also cheered.

" This is what I eat when I eat it. The original cheese and tomato and John you know what they send with it."

" What's that?"

" The brownie bowl."

" You are kidding."

She picked up the small bowl containing the said dish while showing it to John.

" I know they had best intention when they sent this over but let me just tell you."

"What?"

" This is like mini-me brownie bowl."

" Oh is it a little version?"

" The normal version weighs like two pounds," Matilda said while making hand gestures. She was a slightly chubby woman, and through this, she was making fun of herself while being dead serious.

" Oh really?"

" Wait, I just thought of something horrible. What if this is the normal brownie bowl and they have been giving me an extra big portion?"

Everyone laughed because she acted all serious like some conspiracy theorist.

" What if they call it the O'Reilly bowl while serving you those things?" John commented, supporting her theory.

" Now that is something to think about!"

They talked about various stuff for the next few minutes and made playful jokes. It was necessary because they had to sneak in promotional items and set a mood before introducing the guests.

For Today they also had some exclusive things from the set, like the sweets featured in the film, along with every flavour of beans, which also contained the dreaded vomit flavour.

" Well, I just want to say that this is going to be a great show, I can hardly wait. My kids are so excited, especially my son who has been pestering me since he heard about it."

" Of course"

" I tried to tell him that it will be scary but that hardly fazes him. I mean what five year old is excited about a horror movie, it really is strange. He also recruited his sister and they both are piling on me now."

" Kids, you gotta love them and hate them at the same time."

" I think we don't have to keep the kids waiting. So, here comes my monologue." Matilda said with a smile.

" Seriously?" John went along with it.

" Flying brooms, three-headed dogs and invisible clothing are just a few of the things that come to mind when our first guest becomes the boy wizard everyone loves, Harry Potter.

I could've done that so much better, but I didn't. Take a look at the clip."

It was standard to show movie previews. It was mostly done for home viewers to keep them engaged in the show.

After the short introduction, Matilda welcomed the first cast member.

" Please welcome the cutest kid on the block, Harry Potter himself, Sam R. Moore."
