Chapter 176 Proof

Upon returning home, Samuel told them about everything.

The news surprised the Rothschild family; unlike other times, they were pretty understanding about it. It could be Samuel's overthinking, but Robert entertained the idea and took several countermeasures.

" I know you already have a solid protective detail, but just for a few days, I will assign a few more people," Robert said. He also implemented the same procedure for other family members.

" I understand." Samuel didn't have any objection to it.

" I will also send a few of our people to assist you on the case. They would help gather evidence."

" But it is strange; I don't remember anyone holding a deep grudge against our family," Kenneth said. He was the head for a few decades and knew the ins and out of the family's involvements. Few names came to mind, but it was hard to see them as suspects.

" We will find out soon enough. Sami, just be careful out there."

Another family member also showed concerns, and Samuel fully accepted them; it would be foolish to go against their wishes. Even with all the knowledge in the world, he was just starting out, so it was okay to depend on them.

They also discussed Samuel's acquaintances; they had to be prepared if someone was targeting them. Thus, they secretly arranged for a few people to look after Adele, Hannah, and their family members.

They couldn't cover everyone, but these two would be the best candidate for Samuel's weakness.

Robert also informed Oscar about the situation; upon hearing the news, Oscar was distressed and wanted to meet in person, but that seemed unnecessary. Being Samuel's fiancee, at least on paper, meant that Iblis could also be in danger.

Although she was not in the country, she was due to return because of the upcoming holiday season. They had to be prepared for it.

---------------------------------------------------------

Within a few days, with the government's support and reach, the spies reached every corner of the country. Clark was doing his part, and although he was slow, he received constant updates from Samuel, which made his job more manageable.

For now, they found that the perpetrators were spooked, and their business was moving out. With Liam's warning, the people behind it were trying to erase the evidence.

But they underestimated the capabilities of Rothschild's ghost soldiers, this unique unit had only one job to collect the evidence. They would neutralize the threat if their mission was threatened and report it back to the base.

Clark and local officials would bury the news to not alert the Foundation. In just a few days, they had gotten rid of all the branches of Fremen Orphanage; after getting the information, they would assign someone to keep contact with the leading players.

It was a constant guessing game; one party thought they were safe while the other party was getting closer and closer to the truth.

Then on the fourth day, they found who could be the leader of this whole operation.

" Grant Barclay, Deputy Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, everything points towards him."

" Is he the mastermind?" Samuel asked.

" Yes and no," Jane replied.

" What do you mean?"

" He is certainly the person behind the Foundation. Most of the documents we found had his name all over them, but we can't be sure if it is a setup or definitive proof." Jane explained.

" But he certainly has the means, right? I mean looking after the very same sector in which these crimes are committed. He fits the description." Samuel said, but he, too, was doubtful about these findings.

" Most worrying news is his 'partners' most of them are influential people both inside the government and in the business world."

" So, they are the sponsors that we found in the Foundation's directory?"

" Yes, but it doesn't fit. That is why I checked deeper. This is much larger than we first anticipated." Jane said.

" I also went through it; I contacted some of my connections in the underground market. This is only one piece of the puzzle." Drac joined their conversation.

" These orphanages were a perfect front for trafficking, but there is more to it. It's a supply chain, a literal human currency." He continued.

" Human currency that sounds disturbing."

" It is. Many orphans are flown out to other countries, and people come in through these channels. United Kindom is only a tiny part of their operation.

The funds collected are used for illegal casinos and holding street fights. That is how they make more money." Drac explained.

" I also found out that girls are purposefully given black contracts, and when they fail to make payments, they are turned to the streets.

A few cases of substance distribution also greatly help their cause. If you can get them addicted to it, it becomes much easier for them to force them to do their bidding." Jane concluded.

" These things are directly connected to this company? What about the biggest investor on the list? Have you found their identity?" Samuel asked.

" Not yet. That is why I am skeptical." Jane replied.

" I know, but we can't prolong it further. Our people are holding the fort for the time being, but It will not last long. Someone will leak the information, which might cause them to run." Samuel said.

He rounded up everything in a week, but it was too slow for him. Besides, more people might get hurt if they prolong it further.

" Ok, boss, I never expected things to turn out like this. Who knows how long it has been going on?" Jane was visibly angry about it.

" We will make them pay. We are almost at the finish line."

" Yes!"

" Boss, I will watch over every exit to prevent them from escaping," Drac said confidently.

" Very well. Forward it all and start the extermination. I am sure whoever it is, we will force them out."

" Understood."

Clark received the final package and began to make a move. He was also advised to keep the director Liam out of the loop.

On the surface, their investigation was still in the early stages; Clark, with his loyal subordinates, first raided several smaller establishments connected to the Foundation. It was done a day before their final raid swiftly.

They left the big fish for last, along with the headquarters of the Fremen Foundation. Tomorrow was the fateful day when they would finally end it all.
