Chapter 193 [Bonus ]Changes

" Are they your wizard friends? Can they also do magic like you, brother?"

" Eh? Why are she asking that all of a sudden?" Samuel thought.

" Yes, they are my friend. We are doing a movie together, wasn't you excited about it?"

" But brother can do magic, right? I saw you bring fire with your hand. You made the bad man go away." She said innocently, but everyone else was looking at her curiously. Emma and Rupert were unaware of it; they were only told that Samuel had had some accident.

" Wow, She is cute! Yes I am a wizard like your brother!" Rupert was captivated by little Hannah's antics.

" True, In few months you will see real magic on the screens! Sam, I hope you can bring her along for screening." Emma was the same.

" No! I saw it with my own eyes! Brother is a real magician!"

" Hannah you must be scared at that time. It is normal to see things." Iblis said. She knew that it would have been psychological pressure or maybe hallucination.

" Right, I think we should let doctor check her. We have been neglecting her because of Samuel." Adele supported her.

" Why don't you believe me! I am telling the truth!" Hannah was not going to give up that easily.

Seeing the situation getting out of control, Samuel decided to step in.

" Hannah, You shouldn't be like this. It is a secret between us two." Samuel whispered into her ears.

" Huh? So you are real Wizard?" Hannah imitated him.

" Yes. I will show you later but promise me you will not mention about it to others. Alright?"

" Un!"

Their secret conversation definitely was suspicious, but Samuel skillfully changed the subject. Soon, others also forgot about it. But Samuel had to be careful in the future; he would also have to remind Hannah again.

--------------------------------------

And just like that, a few months passed, and Samuel fully recovered. The premiere of the movie was just around the corner. Thus, he was preparing for it.

The fall of the House of Medici was the second largest event that had happened. What's more shocking was that it happened in a matter of days; only a few people knew them by their actual name, but regardless they had heard about the AXA guild.

It was chaotic for a few months, with the head of the 'snake' cutting off 'limbs' trying to frail and revolt, but they were instantly crushed by brute force. With the combined power of three influential families, it was easy for them to keep it contained.

Jane was responsible for this operation, and Drac was the one helping her learn the ropes. They had to arrange for someone to temporarily stabilize the guild and slowly turn it into an information agency. It was a long road ahead, but it would be an entity that could rival other government agencies in a few years.

The remnants of the Medici family were spared, but to not cause any more future problems, those connected to the guilds were handed over to the law officials. They happily obliged; it was a good opportunity for them to earn some merits from the public.

There was only one exception, Piero's younger brother Léon de' Medici. He was the House's direct successor and the black sheep of the family. It was surprising to see him living a decent life away from his family; Jane had heard about his circumstances.

He left the family after his mother's death. Leon was very close to his mother, but seeing her mistreated and eventually succumbing to her death greatly impacted his life. Inside the Medici Family, it was a big deal, his vow to never return to his family and cutting all ties to the guild.

It was too good to be true, so the Rothschild family used many resources to confirm it. After their investigation, the news about his family's demise was brought up to him.

He was neither happy nor sad. He was grateful that no innocent members were harmed. Looking at him, the family only dubbed him a person of interest and decided to monitor him for some time. He might have another change of heart and look for vengeance.

One mystery still remained, the involvement of why Eric was found in Japan and Samuel's other enemies flocking to that country. There was some connection to the guild, but nothing noteworthy was found.

It was a lingering problem which needed more investigation. There might be more players pulling the string from the dark. They couldn't afford another assassination attempt on Samuel's life.

On the business front, everyone was at a loss for words. Especially Abigail, who never thought such a turnaround would happen so soon. Before November, the market took a huge upturn and kept on soaring.

Their accounts, which were all in red, began to reverse pretty soon; as per Samuel's instruction, she bought everything in bulk instead of shorting the market. The aviation and tourism stocks were the worst performers after the attack.

But now they were seeing huge floating profits upon averaging their positions. At first, she thought it would definitely bankrupt the company; every investor with a feeble heart had already withdrawn their funds.

Now, upon seeing the firm's success, they were lamenting their decisions. So much so that they were again lining up to deposit their money, but too bad Samuel gave his official decree,  deserters were banned for life.

" If you can't even support me in my worse how can I let you enjoy my good times." Those were the exact words Samuel said.

Other companies were also doing well, most of them were based around sectors which were least affected by it. They recovered fairly quickly, and they were allowed to swallow the struggling companies in tough times.

With Alastair's superb M&A skills, they were finalizing deals left and right, slowly growing the business.

The Verdant Foundation was also on the right track; initially, they felt some liquidity issues due to holes in the accounting. With years of embezzlement and reckless spending, it was a standard shell of its prime. It might have looked presentable on the outside, but as the firm dug deeper, many more problems were found.

Abigail had to hire hundreds of people to sustain the company. She was upset because of the increased workload but seeing their firm's success, she swallowed her resentments and turned things around. It also helped that she had a soft spot for children.

The movie premiere was on the first week of November, and the people accompanying Samuel stayed the same. Iblis and Adele would remain in the country and attend London's premier, held simultaneously in the USA.

The stage was set, and it was time for the stars to enter.
