Chapter 37.2

“Ha.”

Cassian jumped up.

Yernia looked up at Cassian, wide-eyed.

“Yernia. Can I sit right next to you?”

He asked for permission, and she didn’t even get to respond because he had already pulled the chair next to her.

“Why are you here, Cassian? Did you also have an appointment today?”

“Yes.”

“I’m fine with him here but do you mind, Jenan?”

Jenan stopped eating as if he found the stranger’s presence uncomfortable.

Seeing his troubled smile, Yernia tried to chase Cassian away.

However, Cassian appeared like he was ready to snap Jenan’s neck into two.

He was so angry that Yernia stood her up because of this bastard.

“I’m sorry, but don’t you get it, Cassian? Why don’t you just let it go?”

Yernia said something roughly plausible.

At times like this, other people would probably suffer if Cassian didn’t get what he wanted.

After much thought, Jenan tried to nod, but Cassian sat before him.

“I’m alright with it if you like it.”

“Thank you.”

Jenan was not only handsome and good at performing on stage.

He was also kind-hearted.

As she hid her smile behind her fan, Yernia saw Cassian’s burning stare from her peripheral vision.

“Who did you invite for that meal appointment, Cassian?”

This restaurant must have been so nice that Cassian made an appointment here twice on the same day.

“I had a woman with me.”

“Really?”

“She’s cute and pretty.”

Yena was a little surprised.

She wondered who was the cute and pretty woman Cassian had been referring to.

Hopefully, it wasn’t that blond girl then.

The cold wind blew on her skin’s expanse, making her feel a little weird.

Although she was a temporary replacement until Herena came, Yernia was now Cassian’s wife.

Why would a husband say he had an appointment with a pretty and cute girl in front of his wife?

It wasn’t correct to say such a thing in front of other people, even if she wasn’t there.

There is a chance that they might misunderstand that their relationship was not good.

“I met a pretty and cute lady today.”

Jenan talked to Yernia, who felt uneasy.

Yernia’s face had darkened for a second before she said, “Jennan is cool, too.”

“I…”

Suddenly, Cassian said.”What about me?”

Yernia almost spilled that Cassian didn’t look beautiful to her anymore.

Perhaps, it was because of what he said about that cute girl in front of them just a moment ago.

“You’re the same as usual, Cassian.”

“What do you mean?”

“You’re just the same.”

Yernia told him the truth, but it made Cassian gulped down the water.

Well, it wasn’t fair for her to say that.

Was there someone else who really liked Cassian?

Was he just trying to get around?

“You said you were a singer, right?”

Cassian looked up Jenan.

She was a bit skeptical that he didn’t do it on purpose.

If not, Jenan would have been deliberately offended.

Yet, Cassian had no reason to do so.

“I think you are amazing. I’ve never seen a singer off stage before.”

“Really?”

Jenan responded with a smile to the harmless question.

“I heard opera is so popular among ladies these days. Do you go out with them just like this?”

“What?”

“Why? I heard you have a hobby of playing with fire.”

Jenan grimaced.

His words had thorns.

She had no idea about the rest but that was for sure.

What’s wrong with Cassian?

Yernia was embarrassed that he attacked Jenan where he least expected it.

She was the one who brought Jenan here. Strictly speaking, he was her guest.

“Cassian.”

Yena called him dryly, and Cassian didn’t even look back at her.

His anger had finally reached its limit, and he had finally crossed the line.

When he continued his sarcastic remarks, Yernia grabbed him by the arm.

“Don’t do that, Cassian.”

‘Do you feel good that my wife is on your side?’

Cassian swallowed the words.

Was the reason why Yernia didn’t want to get married wasn’t that he was her childhood friend but because of this bastard?

Because she adored opera singers?

Thinking that Yernia’s heart might not be just pure longing, Cassian felt like returning to the mansion.

“You are cheap son-of-a—-”

“Stop it, Cassian.”

“Did he say something that he shouldn’t have said?”

Having heard enough, Jenan quietly left his seat and walked away.

Yernia stood up and called him back. “Jennan!”

Swallowing the curse words that threatened to spill from his mouth, Cassian grabbed Yernia’s arm when she tried to follow him.

“Don’t go, Yernia.”

“If you’re angry, don’t take it out on Jennan.”

“I told you not to follow him.”

Yernia didn’t look good either.

She looked embarrassed and upset.

Yernia twisted her wrist, shoved Cassian’s arm, and turned her back to him coldly as she thought about looking for Jennan right away.

Cassian ran his fingers through his hair as he watched Yernia follow Jenan.

After exhaling a long breath, he still didn’t feel better.

His emotions had gone haywire, and it didn’t happen very often.

Cassian was always the rational one.

However, when he saw Yernia laughing with a man other than himself—-a poor quality opera singer–his head went crazy for a moment.

“I should have held it in.’

Cassian swore at himself for being silly.

After a long wait, Yernia did not return.
