Chapter 43.2

“My lady said she was going to the Opera House.”

Cassian had wondered where she went.

‘So, that’s where she is.’ He thought.

He couldn’t believe she went to see him again.

Not only will he make the bastard crawl on the floor but he could kill him right away.

“Did she carry an umbrella with her?”

That thought suddenly popped up when Yernia crossed his mind.

It was raining outside as if representing his feelings.

The downpour was unexpected so she must not have brought it.

Cassian sighed and put the cuff button in the box.

Then, he retied the ribbon over it and stared out the window for a long time.

Cassian was depressed.

What did Yernia like about him?

Jennan might look gentle and a bit handsome but he wasn’t even wearing glasses.

Cassian’s hair was fluffy, but he hadn’t taken care of it yet so it looked rather dry.

Of all things, Cassian disliked that particular bastard.

He resented the fact that he had seen him alone with Yernia to the point where he got sick.

Cassian’s stomach started hurting again.

“I can’t be like this, Yernia.”

Cassian hated being weak.

He had never been sick before.

Now that it happened, he could only take care of himself.

He had no choice but to relieve his own depression without anyone’s help.

Although, Yernia would be a lovely cure.

“I need you to worry about me a lot, Yernia.”

Cassian intended to use her caring heart.

“How would you like it wrapped? We needed your opinion on this, My Lady. Is there anything you want me to do?”

Yernia shook her head.

“It’s a gift. Just make it pretty.”

“If you don’t mind, who is it for?”

Could she consider Cassian as her lover?

“Well—-”

How should she explain Cassian?

Yernia took her time before admitting the truth.

It was a complete fact.

“It’s for my husband.”

“Oh my! How romantic~”

The florist smiled with her eyes. “Wait a minute.”

She disappeared for a minute and returned with a wrapping paper and a string in her hands.

Yernia touched the pink tulips with her fingertips as she prayed for Cassian to get better.

It was hard seeing Cassian depressed.

Yernia went to a flower shop so that she could at least make him feel a little better.

After much consideration, she had chosen pink tulips to give him.

“Hoping you’ll visit again, My Lady.”

Before she knew it, a pretty bouquet of flowers was settled in Yernia’s arms.

It was her first time buying flowers herself so she should give another one for someone else as well.

“Wow! So pretty~ It feels good to receive this if I’m depressed.”

Yernia couldn’t wait to show this to Cassian.

As soon as she tried to exit the flower shop, Yernia would have already gone home if it wasn’t for the sudden rain shower.

“Oh, it’s raining! What should I do? We don’t have any umbrellas left in the store.”

“Why? Would the flower shop be busy?”

“No, but I hope the downpour will stop soon. Would you like to sit here before then?”

Not wanting to get rained on, Yernia plopped on the chair at the suggestion of the kind florist.

Yernia talked to the flower shop owner while she waited.

As they continued to talk about trivial things, Yernia revealed that she bought his favorite opera singer a meal at a restaurant and that her husband was somehow depressed these days.

Yernia had visited the flower shop far from where she lived because it happened to be her day off.

She confided in her for no reason since she and the flower shop owner were basically strangers.

Still, she didn’t mention that another woman had caused her husband to be lovesick.

Suddenly, the door to the flower shop burst open and a woman hurried inside.

It might have been the florist’s friend.

“It’s raining all of a sudden and I had no choice but to run.”

“You’re holding an umbrella, though. I don’t think it’s a big of a deal.”

“Am I not allowed to avoid the rain just because I have an umbrella with me?”

“Let’s not argue. Go inside and drink some cocoa.”

The florist tapped into the space behind the counter.

The woman folded her umbrella.

Then, the flower shop owner took the umbrella and handed it over to Yernia.

“Bring this with you and go. Just return it on your next visit.”

“Why would you give my umbrella to someone else?”

“Her husband is sick.”

“Oh, then you should go ahead. Let’s go.”

The conversation was strange somehow.

Yernia found the flower shop owner and her friend funny and unique.

After thanking them for letting her borrow the umbrella, Yernia hugged the bouquet tightly and ran underneath the downpour.

She was a little worried for returning home later than she thought.

Yernia found herself lost.

She swore that she came here with the footman and the carriage but no one was there except her.

Yernia often got lost if she was alone in an area that she already considered a personal disease.

She wasn’t that surprised, either.

She hailed another carriage and asked him to take her to the Duke of Lecardo.

Yernia calmly waited for it to stop, got inside, shook off the raindrops over her head, and stared out the window.

When she was near the mansion, Yernia saw a familiar face walking in the rain.

“I’ll get off here!”

Yernia quickly got out of the carriage, descended to the path, and stood in front of Cassian.

Sensing her stare, he slowly raised his head.

Yernia put an umbrella over them.

“What are you doing here?”

Both of them were in an alley close to the mansion.

Cassian sat there with only the street lamp as his own source of light… while being rained on.
