Zhong Xin’s pupils constricted as he called out guiltily, “President Lian.”
When they heard Zhong Xin’s voice, everyone knew that the matter had blown up. They made way for President Lian while simultaneously stealing glances at the man’s ugly expression.
Lian Jing’s eyes narrowed and his gaze shifted away from the disheveled woman on the ground. He cast a frosty glance at the man behind her. “Take them back.”
Zhong Xin lowered his head and was about to call for someone to take the two of them away when Lian’e bit her lower lip and walked over awkwardly. “Little Jing, don’t be angry. I know you invited Miss Shen to the birthday banquet out of goodwill, but she dared to behave like that in public. It would be better to get her to explain in person.”
“That’s right, President Lian. This b*tch showed no respect for your status when she did such a shameful thing. I will expose her tomorrow and make sure she never dares to appear in public again!” The lady clutched the evidence in her hand with a proud tilt of her head. The woman on the ground was stunned for a moment. She lowered her head and looked at the love marks all over her body. Then she looked at the stern-looking Lian Jing. She suddenly screamed and shook her head like a lunatic. “How could this be? It’s not supposed to be me. It shouldn’t be me. How could it be me!”

An uneasy look flashed across Lian’e’s face. She stared at the crazed woman in front of her, trying to see her face.
“It’s not me! President Lian! Listen to me! This is a conspiracy! It’s a trap! Someone set me up!” The woman forced herself up, ignoring her aching back. Ignoring the dirt on the ground, she crawled to Lian Jing’s feet and tried to clutch at Lian Jing’s pants.
Lian Jing took a step back in disgust. The crowd perceived Lian Jing’s attitude and they began pointing at the woman on the ground.
The rich matron waved her cell phone and smiled. “Miss Shen, I didn’t expect you to be so impatient. I’ve a recording as evidence. Has President Lian mistreated you? Why would you consort with such a despicable man behind his back?”
Lian’e’s good friend had heard Lian’e mocking Shen Yin when she first arrived at the banquet. Seeing that Lian Jing was not going to interfere, she said sarcastically, “That’s right. I think she’s just a slut. No matter how much the Lian family tries to improve her status, she’s still not fit for society. To think that Grandpa Lian still thinks so highly of her and often invites her to the Lian residence. You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.”
