"A-Rank Adventurers and a Rematch with That Monster."

The sound of a “bang” on the floor echoed throughout the guild.

The noise was so loud that the people who had been making a commotion fell silent as if they were wondering what was going on.

Turning in the direction of the sound, they found a man there.

Considering that he was in the Adventurers’ Guild, it was clear from his armor that he was an adventurer who belonged to the guild.

However, they were not just adventurers, but high-ranking adventurers……or so-called “high-rankers”

Adventurers were classified into nine ranks, from SSS at the top to F at the bottom, with each rank further divided into lower, middle, higher, top, and legendary adventurers.

Specifically, the lower ranks were F and E, the middle ranks were D, C, and B, the higher ranks were A and S, the top ranks were SS, and the legendary ranks were SSS.

According to the information I was able to obtain so far, there were no qualifications required to become an adventurer, and guild registration was free, so anyone could become an adventurer as long as they completed the registration process.

Because of this, many adventurers lost their lives every year because they had to take responsibility for anything that happened to them.

Many of them were lower-ranked adventurers……in other words, F- and E-ranked adventurers, and the number of middle-ranked adventurers (D-rank and above) was small compared to the number of adventurers as a whole.

The top adventurers in the group numbered less than fifty in the country, and they were the chosen ones.

The guild rules state that the highest rank was SSS, but since there were currently no adventurers holding that rank and the position was vacant, SS, one rank below, was recognized as the highest rank.

“Hey, isn’t that [Heavy Kaiser]?”

“He’s back.”

”Who’s that?”

“You must be new to this country since you don’t know him. He’s a well-known A-rank adventurer who works mostly in this country.”

(A-rank adventurer….)

From what I could hear leaking out from the other adventurers, I knew that the other party was a high-ranking adventurer.

But what in the world would such a person be up to?

“Shut up, you merchants! I can’t even have a quiet drink in peace! You guys know that it’s not legal to ask for direct access to materials, right? Now give up and go home!”

A man was shouting so loudly that it could best be described as an angry shout. That was enough to make the people around him quiet down and surrender.

The hostility of a high-ranked adventurer was a heavy burden to bear. If a merchant, an amateur fighter, were to be subjected to such hostility, they would not be able to stand a chance.

While I was thinking about this, a man walks up to me.

He was a young man in his early twenties with a fearless face. On his back, he carried a huge sword as tall as he was, and the loud sound he had just made seemed to have been made by striking the floor with the sword.

“You okay, kid? You’ve been through a lot.”

“A-ah, I’m not in any harm’s way, so it doesn’t matter. Thank you for keeping this situation under control.”

“Don’t worry about it. My name is Gyrmzak, and I may look like this, but I’m an A-rank adventurer.”

“I’m Rolando. Rank E.”

“I had no idea that a little boy like you was at the center of all the commotion that’s going on right now. Nice to meet you.”

We introduced ourselves to each other and shook hands.

In the meantime, thanks to Gyrmzak’s pressure, the merchants, who had been making so much noise, disbanded the guild in a hurry.

Some of the merchants were reluctant to give up, but when Gyrmzak glared at them, they ran away like rabbits.

“Well, I’m going to go accept a request with my friends now, so if you’ll excuse me.”

“Ah, yes.”

After exchanging brief greetings and watching Gyrmzak leave the guild with his friends from the bar, I headed for the reception counter.

At the counter, Mirian was rowing a sleepy boat, but as soon as she knew I had shown up, she shook off her drowsiness and greeted me.

“Ara, it’s you, Rolando-kun. Have you come to accept another request today?”

“I’m here to ask for information about a certain monster.”

I came to the Adventurers’ Guild today not to get a request, but to get some advance information in order to hunt a certain monster.

That monster was none other than the Wild Dashboa.

When I encountered it before, I could not bring it back even if I killed it because the capacity of my magic bag was too small, but now that I obtained a 500-kilogram magic bag, it would be possible for me to bring it back.

Then wouldn’t it be reasonable to hunt it down as I had promised before?

However, the Wild Dashboa was a higher species than the Dashboa, making it a tricky opponent. I was hoping to get a little information before we fight…….

“Rolando-kun, did you encounter a Wild Dashboa?”

“Yeah, though I overlooked it because I didn’t think I was going to bring it back with me then.”

“I won’t say anything bad about that. You shouldn’t.”

Mirian appealed to me with an unusually serious look in her eyes, but it was already decided that I would hunt the Wild Dashboa. There was no reason to call it off.

“I’ll take your advice. If I think I can’t beat it, I’ll just run away again.”

“Yes…… Oh, by the way, you wanted to know about the Wild Dashboa. Their behavior patterns are the same as regular Dashboas, but their attack and defense are orders of magnitude higher. They are also highly intelligent, so watch out for unexpected behavior.”

“Got it. Thanks for the information.”

After getting all the information from Mirian, I decided to head out to hunt for Wild Dashboas right away.

She had a worried look on her face the whole time, but I knew I could handle it as long as nothing too out of the ordinary happened since its ability was lower than mine and I was going to fight as hard as I could without letting my guard down.

“Speaking of which, where’s Nicole? I don’t see her.”

“She’s off today. Did you want to see Nicole?”

“No, she was always at the guild. I was just curious because I couldn’t see her.”

This was true. It wasn’t that I had any special feelings for Nicole in particular, I just wondered what was going on since she was genuinely not there, but it seemed that Mirian had misunderstood something and had a smirk on her face for a while now.

“Rolando-kun, is this what I think it is? It’s nice to be young.”

“You’re mistaken, I don’t have any feelings for Nicole.”

“Ara-, is that so?”

“If you want to talk about my taste in women, Miriam. You’re more desirable as a woman.”

“W-wait, what are you talking about? Don’t tease a grown adult like that!”

I barely managed to stifle her teasing, saying, “You were the one who teased me first,” and left the guild.

When I told her my preference for women, I thought I saw a slight blush on her face but was it my imagination? I hope I don’t pass any strange flags…….

So I arrived at my usual hunting ground and immediately started advancing into the forest.

My goal was, of course, to find Wild Dashboa, so I passed up all the monsters I encountered along the way.

I thought I should have collected some medicinal herbs, but I didn’t know if I would be able to find them today, so I pushed on through the forest, giving priority to the Wild Dashboa.

“Muu, there you are…….”

As I continued to search for signs, I found myself in an open area. It was a rocky area dotted with large rocks, and there I saw the giant body I had seen in the past.

The huge body, which could not be mistaken for anything else, was making a gesture as if it was searching for something, but after observing it for a while, I came to the conclusion that it was an action that had no particular meaning.

(Let’s check my status before fighting.)

–I will check my status just in case, but just to be sure. It is very important to check the status in advance because you may come up with something important later.

Since meeting Wild Dashboa, I had not missed my daily training, and my ability had improved more than before due to my daily hunting of Dashboas and Forest Wolves.

Perhaps as a result of extensive use of magic to search for signs, I acquired the new skills of presence detection and presence blocking. As the name suggests, the detailed ability was the ability to detect and block out signs of presence.

My abilities had improved since my first encounter with Wild Dashboa, and I had acquired new skills. With this, it would be unlikely that I would fall behind a lower-ranked opponent, even if by some chance I did.

I used the “Presence Blocking” to get close to Wild Dashboa so that it would not notice me, and then I used the appraisal to examine its abilities once again.

(It seems like its abilities haven’t changed much from before…….okay, I can do this.)

The opponent was unaware of me, and I was ready to fight. I decided to take it by surprise, seeing it as a chance to strike first.
