“I’ll assist you!” (Rearguard)

“Please!” (Vanguard)

“[Earth Skin]” (Rearguard)

One adventurer activates his magic. A yellow aura clung to the body of the adventurer in the vanguard and it was absorbed by his skin.

I believe this is magic that can reduce the force of the attack.

“Ha!” (Vanguard)

“[Strengthen]” (Rearguard)

As the adventurer leaps forward to slash at Gordo-san, a magic spell is immediately fired from another member of the rear guard.

The magic became a red aura that was sucked into the adventurer, who was still blown away by Gordo-san.

This magic was supposed to be muscle-strengthening magic, but it feels like… a burning stone thrown in a flowing creek?

The moment that the adventurer slashed at him, an arrow was released from the rear guard, which was in another position, and it was a simultaneous attack from two directions, but Mr. Gordo grabbed the arrow, and the adventurer’s slash was repelled with his back fist.

But party coordination I had never seen before began to unfold.

The coordination that I had not seen when I was in Rankfurt. People who can use this kind of Support Magic. In other words, there were not many high-rank adventurers in that town. And when we fought the Great Boar, the rear guards were all on the wall and we were divided.

Just being able to observe their battles up close, which are reasonably high ranked among the people of this world, might have been the point of joining this clan.

I rarely have the opportunity to watch others fight. I only catch a glimpse of them when I happen to pass by them in a dungeon, but I rarely get a chance to observe them closely. If I were to observe a battle near other adventurers in a dungeon or outside of a town, I would definitely be on the lookout for them. It’s usually good manners to keep a certain distance.

“Rook-san.” (Mimi)

Mimi’s words brought me back to my senses, and I turned around.

“Rook-san, please treat him.” (Mimi)

I looked over at Mimi-san and saw the male adventurer who had just been punched in the face being dragged to me by two archers. The man was then rolled over in front of me and his face turned toward me.

“Oof…”

The man’s cheeks were swollen, his nose was bleeding, his eyes were white, and he was out cold. That looks really, really painful.

I almost put my hands together in prayer, but he’s still alive.

Now, I have to treat him, but, well, of course, I am not going to use [Holy Light].

I’m thinking that if the situation is really out of control, I’ll have to use it, but I don’t think this is the time to use it. I’m sorry for this guy with the white eyes here, but he’ll just have to put up with a [Heal]. I don’t know if that will heal him, but I have no choice.

I focus my mind and chant the spell.

“Healing light.”

With those words, the magic power moved around inside my body and gathered in my right hand. I manipulated it to increase the amount of magic power I could put into it as much as possible. When I had gathered more than enough magic power, I activated the spell.

“[Heal]”

A ball of pale light is born from my right hand, and it grows larger and larger than the last time I used it.

The more magic power I put into it, the bigger it seems to be than usual.

A few moments later, the ball of light, which had become about the size of a volleyball, was moved so that it was pressed against the white-eyed man’s face. Soon the swelling on the man’s cheek went down.

I think this cured the visible injuries. I don’t know if the nosebleed has stopped, though, and he was still knocked out cold.

Seeing that he was healed, the archer who brought the man to me said, “Hey! Get up! We’re going back!” and he slaps the man’s cheek hard waking him up.

Ah, I just got the swelling on his cheek healed, and now it’s swelling up again! The man who had been knocked out cold jumped up and said, “Ugh… ugh… That huuuurts!” as he jumped up.

Seems like he was healed properly. I wonder if it worked well even with just [Heal], probably because I poured a lot of magical power.

“Damn… Gordo-san, I wish he would be more gentle…” (Adventurer)

“That’s right. Alright, I’ll be back soon!” (Archer)

No, I don’t think that pain is Gordo-san’s fault! The man who was woken up by the archer got up and went back to the training.

Looking toward the training, I saw that it was still a battle of infantry versus a heavy tank, and several adventurers who had been run over and knocked down by that heavy tank were being dragged toward me.

It looks like my work will continue.

As I watched the maneuvers while I examined the next patient, a lot of things were happening.

“I’ll use magic!” (Mage)

shouted a male adventurer who had just been practicing magic against the stone wall.

Then the vanguard in front of him suddenly shifted to the side, creating a clear path between him and Gordo-san.

“Oh? That looks like it going to hurt.” (Gordo)

Mr. Gordo noticed this and put his right hand behind his back, releasing something with a snap before grabbing the hilt of his greatsword.

The next moment, the adventurer released a magic spell.

“Wind, become a blade that cuts through my enemies, [Wind Slasher].” (Mage)

“Here I go.” (Gordo)

Gordo-san faced the half-moon-shaped green blade that flew at high speed and slammed the great sword down with the same momentum with which he had drawn it.

A heavy whooshing sound, as if he had swung a baseball bat at full force, echoed through the air, and the crushed [Wind Slasher] disappeared with a boom.

The tip of the sword came to a stop just in front of the ground, and a cloud of dust flew up from the pressure of the sword.

The surrounding adventurers, perhaps taken aback, stopped moving for a moment.

This is amazing. Even that magic that cut through the stone wall is nullified with a single blow. The difference in level is overwhelming. If I were to be targeted by an A-ranker today, I would be completely flattened. I can’t even think of a clue as to how to deal with them.

Probably, if there’s an organization like a country, I don’t know if people at his level are common… but there should be some around. I guess I should be cautious when dealing with people in such privileged positions. If one little mistake catches their attention, it could be the end of everything.

While I was thinking about this, Gordo-san approached the magic-using adventurer in an instant and punched him away with his left hand.

“I told you to make any gaps!” (Gordo)

“Ugo!” (Mage)

The adventurer was blown away rolling on the ground.

“Look! Quickly surround me! You guys are already late, so a rearguard has been killed!” (Gordo)

“Yeah!”

Training against large monsters continued for a while after that, and I had to heal a number of people with [Heal].

I could see the situation from the outside. The formation was similar to the one when I had fought the Great Boar in Rankfurt before, and it was in a similar style. We surround the monster with a large number of vanguards to prevent it from escaping, attack it from the outside with bows, and attack magic while inflicting damage.

In most games, a shield-bearer player gathers the enemy’s aggression by using his or her skills, and the healer takes care of all the attacks inflicted, but in this world, there is probably no such skill or magic to gather hate. So, there should be no way to guide the monster’s attack, and a smart monster will target the weakest part of the party. If you want to protect the rear guard, the only way is to line up the vanguard and make a blockade so that the enemy can’t get out.

As I was thinking this, I felt Mimi-san approaching from behind.

“The quality, quantity, and control of your magical power are all excellent. There are probably not many people who can do this much with the lowest level of recovery magic [Heal]. After all, Borok-sama’s recommendation was not a mistake.” (Mimi)

“I see. Thank you very much.”

The most important thing to remember is that the best way to get the best out of your business is to be a good businessman. However, who is Borok-san, who is given the honorific title of “-sama”? I was sure that he was not just an old man.

“Hey, let’s see what someone young like you can do.” (Voice)

I turned around with a bad feeling, and my eyes met Gordo-san’s.
