The next morning, Su Chengyang was awakened by her phone ringing.

She rubbed her sleepy eyes and fumbled for her phone under the covers. After looking at it, she saw that it was a call from Xu Yang. She yawned and before she could answer the phone, the call had already been disconnected.

“Eight o’clock…” Su Chengyang murmured after checking the time.

She opened her phone and found that Xu Yang had called her more than once, but she didn’t hear it because her phone was on do not disturb mode while she was sleeping.

Su Chengyang had a rough idea of what Xu Yang wanted to say, but she felt like she hadn’t broken any rules. She rubbed her messy hair and calmly called back.

The call was picked up almost immediately. “Chengyang, why haven’t you followed Yang Xiuyi back? The internet is already in an uproar!”

Su Chengyang yawned and said, “Calm down, I just woke up. There’s never a day on the internet without any uproar.”

Xu Yang sighed helplessly, “I know you’re angry with him, but this is still the company’s arrangement. You…”

“I’ll cooperate,” Su Chengyang replied, “Brother Xu, let me go online and check first. I’ll hang up now.”

“Okay, you don’t have to worry about anything else, just follow Yang Xiuyi back.”

“I know.”

Su Chengyang rubbed her cheeks to wake herself up a little, and then opened Weibo.

Her ‘Messages’ and ‘My’ pages were already filled with a row of red 999+ notifications, but Su Chengyang was impatient and didn’t bother to check. She typed Yang Xiuyi’s name in the search bar, clicked the “Follow” button, and then exited his Weibo. Afterwards, she clicked on the official Weibo post from Starlight Entertainment and scrolled through the comments.

“Get out of here, marketing team, you deserve to be beaten up. Who were the ones spreading rumors about Su Chengyang being entangled with Yang Xiuyi in the first place?”

“The current marketing team is really sickening. They don’t hesitate to defame a girl just for the sake of traffic, and they’ve caused such great trouble for Yang Xiuyi.”

“What’s with the hot comments? Where does it say in this post that Su Chengyang didn’t have any involvement with Yang Xiuyi?”

“Do you not have a brain, person above me? If Su Chengyang really had entangled with Yang Xiuyi and wanted to know more about him, do you really think Starlight Entertainment would be so stupid as to sign a notorious artist? Besides, your brother has already apologized to her.”

“No way, no way. If Su Chengyang didn’t have any involvement with Yang Xiuyi, then why didn’t he clarify things for her when she was being blacklisted? Why didn’t he speak up for her?”

“Can’t you see it? Yang Xiuyi deliberately wanted to shift the blame onto Su Chengyang. Even the artist who was signed with her previous management company said that she had been scapegoated. Otherwise, why would the marketing team keep targeting someone who is a D-list celebrity?”

“I haven’t forgotten the day when I clicked on the entry about Yang Xiuyi’s love affair being exposed. The netizens were all cursing Su Chengyang, which makes it hard not to suspect whether Yang Xiuyi was deliberately shifting the blame or not.

“If Yang Xiuyi was deliberately shifting the blame, then I would really thank him. A perfectly fine young girl had inexplicably suffered undeserved disaster.”

“Fun fact: Su Chengyang did not immediately respond to Yang Xiuyi’s message. She replied promptly but did not follow back. Think about it carefully.”

When Su Chengyang saw the comments questioning Yang Xiuyi, she knew her purpose had been achieved. She was in a great mood and got up to reward herself with a basket full of pork buns. However, just as she opened the food delivery app, the doorbell of her hotel room rang.

Su Chengyang put on her slippers and went to open the door with a creak. Outside the door stood Xiao Lu with a bright smile, holding a small bag of food in her hand.

Through the plastic bag, Su Chengyang vaguely saw the same food as yesterday, and her wonderful mood suddenly sank to the bottom of the valley. The smile that had not yet dispersed froze on her face.

“Ding-ding-ding-dong! Your breakfast has been delivered. Please sign for it in a timely manner and remember to give a five-star rating.”

Su Chengyang pulled at the corners of her mouth, her eyes wet. “Can I return this?”

Xiao Lu smiled faultlessly. “Sorry, that’s not possible.”

After finishing breakfast, Su Chengyang was dragged to a gym. She had a normal lunch, but it was very plain and couldn’t satisfy her stomach, but she had no choice.

At two o’clock in the afternoon, Lin Yu suddenly called and asked Xiao Lu to bring her back to the company for an emergency meeting.

Su Chengyang, with numb limbs from training all morning, was caught by Xiao Lu and taken to the car.

Don’t be fooled by Xiao Lu’s similar body shape to Su Chengyang’s. Su Chengyang’s body is all fat, while Xiao Lu’s body is all muscle. It was very easy for her to lift Su Chengyang.

All the way, Su Chengyang was like a puppet without a soul, and she was pulled into the company by Lin Yu.

After passing through a row of employee areas, the two arrived in front of a meeting room, and Xiao Lu knocked on the door. Yang Xiuyi’s angry roar could be heard from inside.

Su Chengyang was frightened, and just then someone opened the door. Yang Xiuyi had already grabbed the teacup on the table and threw it towards the door.

The ceramic cup smashed against the glass door next to Su Chengyang with a deafening sound. A few drops of hot tea splashed onto Su Chengyang’s face.

Su Chengyang was frightened and stood still. The fragments of the teacup flew past her eyes and almost pierced her skin.

She opened her eyes wide in terror, tears welled up, and the tea on her skin felt like needles, but she had no time to worry about it.

In that moment, the loud noise almost tore Su Chengyang’s eardrums.

Lin Yu sat opposite her, with an exceptionally gloomy expression.

The meeting room was silent.
