CH 10.1

Su Chengyang was scared out of her wits, with her mind completely empty.

Although she never cared about other people’s opinions, it was only because those opinions didn’t cause any real harm to her.

When faced with something that would truly threaten her, she didn’t have much courage.

“Chengyang, are you okay?” Xiao Lu was the first to react, pulling Su Chengyang to his side and checking her skin, which was red from being scalded by the tea.

Su Chengyang shook her head with red eyes. “I’m…I’m fine.”

No one in the conference room seemed to notice Su Chengyang, as they held their breath and watched the man with a dark and unclear expression at the conference table.

Even Yang Xiuyi, who was in a rage, couldn’t help but look nervously at Lin Yu.

Lin Yu remained silent, with his brown eyes showing no emotion. After a while, he looked towards Su Chengyang and asked, “Miss Su, are you okay?”

The others seemed to have just remembered something and all turned their gaze towards Su Chengyang.

The porcelain cup smashed against the glass door and turned into pieces scattered around, leaving a puddle of water on the glass door and on the ground.

The girl standing by the door froze, her eyes reddened like a startled rabbit. As everyone looked at her, she pursed her lips and lowered her head, clearly showing her grievance.

Su Chengyang felt extremely wronged in her heart.

Not only was she scared and scalded by the boiling water, but she also felt aggrieved that she hadn’t had a decent meal all day and was dragged to the gym for so long before encountering this incident.

But in the eyes of outsiders, the culprit for her distress was Yang Xiuyi.

Su Chengyang shook her head, her eyes getting hot and a tear falling from the corner of her eye, “I’m okay.”

“You’re not okay!” Xiao Lu glared at her. “Your face is red! What if it leaves a scar?”

As soon as this was said, the meeting room fell silent again.

For artists, their face is almost the most important thing, especially since Su Chengyang was a contracted artist of Starlight Entertainment. If this matter were to be spread, it would be disastrous.

“Assistant Xu, take Miss Su to see a doctor. We will temporarily postpone the meeting. Nobody is allowed to leave the room until Miss Su comes back”, Lin Yu said expressionlessly.

Yang Xiuyi, who had been resentful, was about to say something, but his manager pulled him back, making him sit back in his chair.

The agent glared fiercely at Yang Xiuyi. Lin Yu is usually courteous to others and has never embarrassed anyone in public no matter what sudden situations he encounters. He always has a faint smile on his face when talking to anyone, but this does not mean that he is an easy-going person, the fact is completely opposite. Some things may have a chance to turn around when brought in front of the seemingly strict chairman, but once Lin Yu makes a decision on something, no one is allowed to interfere. He is also very efficient in his work.

However, now there was no smile on Lin Yu face, and anyone could tell that he was really angry.

Su Chengyang was not used to making others wait, especially not a group of people like this. She sniffed and said in a low voice, “I’m fine. Let’s start the meeting first. Isn’t there an emergency meeting?”

Xu Yang was momentarily unsure what to do and turned to look at Lin Yu, saying, “Mr. Lin…”

Lin Yu glanced at Su Chengyang, who met his gaze courageously, avoiding looking at Yang Xiuyi, who was staring at her fiercely out of the corner of her eye.

“Mr. Lin, I’m really fine. Let’s start the meeting. I don’t want to waste everyone’s time.” Su Chengyang said sincerely, and she really meant it. However, compared to countless times when Yang Xiuyi had wasted everyone’s time, raged in the meeting room and almost injured her colleagues, it seemed a bit unreasonable.

“Chengyang, are you really okay?” Xiao Lu frowned and asked.

Su Chengyang smiled at her and said, “I’m fine, just a little scared.”

Lin Yu took his gaze off her and turned to Yang Xiuyi, saying, “Mr. Yang, don’t you plan to apologize to Miss Su for your behavior?”

At these words, Yang Xiuyi’s face instantly turned pale.

He clenched his teeth, squeezed his fists, and looked at Lin Yu with an incredulous expression.

With his position in the entertainment industry, he has never apologized to anyone before. Regardless of whether it was his fault or not, as long as his popularity and commercial value were high enough, even if he was in the wrong, the apology should be given by someone else.

Su Chengyang did not shake her head and say no. She felt that Yang Xiuyi should indeed apologize to her and to ‘Su Chengyang’.

“You want me,” Yang Xiuyi pointed at himself, laughing in anger, “to apologize to her, a newcomer?”

Lin Yu slowly raised her eyes. “In the face of law and morality, you have no special privileges.”

Yang Xiuyi’s face turned even more green, and everyone in the conference room felt the heavy atmosphere. No one dared to speak, and there wasn’t even anyone to mediate.

“Yang Xiuyi, because of your personal reasons, the company has suffered irreparable losses. The company is not currently holding you responsible, but this does not mean that the company approves of your personal behavior.” Lin Yu stood up, picked up a brand new teacup, and slowly poured half a cup of tea into it.

His every action appeared to be meticulously planned, resembling a beautiful painting that captured everyone’s attention, but also carried with it a certain level of pressure, created a sense of heavy tension of those present in the room.

“Now, on behalf of the company, I propose two solutions. First, apologize to Miss Su with this cup of tea for the harm you have caused her. Of course, even if she drinks this cup of tea to save your face under company pressure, it doesn’t mean that she forgives you; second, the company will file a formal lawsuit against you for violating company rules during your contract and work period, causing immeasurable losses to the company’s interests and reputation. Mr. Yang, you have five minutes to consider.”
