CH 19.1

Throughout Su Chengyang’s life, she has never experienced a meal that left her feeling completely satisfied to the point where she could ascend to a higher level.

In Su Chengyang’s heart, Lin Yu’s position immediately tilted towards the angelic side.

Finally, Su Chengyang was full and couldn’t move, sitting on the chair with a satisfied expression on her face.

Xiao Lu walked to the table and looked at the mess on the table, sighing, “Su Chengyang, how can you, with such a small body, eat so much? You’ll probably gain several pounds after this meal.”

Su Chengyang blinked weakly and said, “People die for food, birds die for money…”

Xiao Lu gave her a sideways glance and said, “Don’t think I don’t understand culture. Clearly, it’s birds die for food, people die for money. How did it get reversed with you?”

Su Chengyang said, “It doesn’t make much of a difference, the meaning is the same anyway.”

“The difference is huge.”

Soon, thinking that they must have finished eating, Lin Yu returned to the room.

When he saw Su Chengyang sitting on the chair, with a round belly, he stood still for a long time, feeling for the first time that he might have made a wrong decision.

After a moment, he looked at Xiao Lu, who had an innocent expression on his face.

Xiao Lu said warily, “Why are you staring at me? You let her eat, so don’t blame me.”

Thinking that Lin Yu would blame Xiao Lu, Su Chengyang struggled to sit up from the chair and gasped, “Don’t blame Xiao Lu…”

Lin Yu sighed helplessly and said, “Take her upstairs to change clothes and walk around to aid digestion, otherwise she won’t be able to sleep at night.”

Xiao Lu complied and dragged Su Chengyang into the room, helping her change clothes. Xiao Lu muttered as she changed her, “You’re usually a calm person, why do you become so easily confused when it comes to food and money?”

Su Chengyang was satisfied after eating and drinking, and obediently did as she was told. When she heard Xiao Lu’s complaining words, she hugged Xiao Lu’s arm and rubbed against her shoulder like a kitten. “I just like it. My biggest dream is to earn enough money to open a bookstore in my hometown and then live off of it.”

Xiao Lu looked at her with a mix of amusement and exasperation, unable to resist poking her cheek with her finger. “Can’t you have some ambition?”

“But ambition can’t be eaten.”

Helpless, Xiao Lu had to take Su Chengyang for a walk in the surrounding area. Remembering what Han Songxue had said at the dining table, Su Chengyang also bought many things she might need from the supermarket.

After returning to the hotel and freshening up, it was almost midnight.

Su Chengyang fell asleep almost immediately and even had a pleasant dream.

In her sleep, Su Chengyang felt someone pushing her, but she was too groggy to fully wake up. When she finally did, she saw a dimly lit room and a shadowy figure standing by her bed. The figure looked like a person, but their head was much larger than a normal human.

As soon as Su Chengyang opened her eyes, she felt a chill run through her body. She stared at the figure by her bed, tears rolling down her cheeks.

“Chengyang… Chengyang…”

She was scared stiff until the person pushed her shoulder with a warm hand.

“Chengyang!”

A face appeared from behind a dark machine.

“Xiao…Xiao Lu?” Su Chengyang stuttered.

“It’s me,” Xiaolu replied.

Xiao Lu put down the machine on her shoulder and looked at Su Chengyang, who was still dazed. “This was arranged by the show’s producers. Didn’t you receive a notice?”

Su Chengyang shook her head in confusion. “No.”

Then she noticed the camera in Xiao Lu’s hand. She closed her eyes and opened them again, speaking in a near hysterical tone. “You almost scared me to death!”

Xiao Lu smiled and said, “That shouldn’t have happened. The producers said they left a card on your bedside table last night.”

Xiao Lu looked around and saw an unopened card on Su Chengyang’s table. She handed it to her. “Here.”

Su Chengyang opened the card and saw a message left by the production team, asking her to wear her pajamas to bed and the crew would wake them up in the morning for filming.

Su Chengyang explained that she went to bed right after washing up and didn’t pay attention to the message. Xiao Lu said that fortunately, Lin Yu had foresight and asked everyone to wait outside while she came in with the equipment. Because they were in a hotel, Su Chengyang did not dress as she would at home, so she said, “Let them come in.”

The morning filming only took a few minutes. After they got the footage they wanted, the production team left her room and told her to pack her bags and meet downstairs in forty minutes.

Su Chengyang checked her phone and saw that it was not yet 7 a.m. Xiao Lu brought her some milk and bread, and after quickly eating, Su Chengyang put everything she bought last night into her suitcase and went to the lobby with Xiao Lu to wait for the others.

Su Chengyang was very tired and leaned on the sofa, feeling drowsy. Soon, Han Songxue arrived with her luggage. Compared to Sun Chengyang, she was much more energetic.

Suddenly, a loud voice echoed through the empty lobby, startling Su Chengyang and dispelling her sleepiness. She looked in the direction of Han Songxue, thinking for a moment that there was an earthquake.

“Who is this?” Han Songxue asked in confusion when she saw Xiao Lu next to Sun Chengyang.

Su Chengyang said, “She’s my assistant, her name is Lu Yin.”

“Hello, hello,” Han Songxue greeted with no airs, extending her hand to Xiao Lu.

Xiao Lu shook her hand and praised, “Miss Han, you look even better than on TV.”

Han Songxue nodded and said, “Xiao Lu, you’re darker than most girls.”

Su Chengyang: “…”

Xiao Lu didn’t mind and laughed, “Yes, some people can’t achieve the same effect as my beautiful tan.”

Su Chengyang breathed a sigh of relief.

Han Songxue sat down beside Su Chengyang.

Curious, Su Chengyang asked, “Songxue, have you ever been hit because of your mouth?”

Han Songxue: “…”

Xiao Lu: “…”

Su Chengyang, have you ever been hit for being so straightforward?

Of course not!

Su Chengyang rarely acted recklessly, but it was clear that Han Songxue didn’t mind. She was a straightforward person herself, which was why she asked.

Han Songxue thought for a moment and nodded seriously, “To tell you the truth, I have been hit before.”

Xiao Lu: “…”

They were both so honest with each other.
