Come in.”

A voice came from inside the door. Su Chengyang steadied her breath and imagined what Terry might look like in her mind. Would he look the same as she had seen him in videos? She held the doorknob and gently pushed the door open.

As soon as Su Chengyang looked up, she saw a man in a suit standing at the door.

“Hello…”

Su Chengyang was stunned. Wasn’t Terry a foreigner? The man in front of her had an oriental face.

“Miss Su, hello,” the man bowed slightly and extended his hand.

Su Chengyang politely extended her hand to shake his. “Hello.”

The man smiled, released her hand, turned to look into the room and said, “You two can talk first. If you have any questions, feel free to find me.”

After speaking, he nodded at Su Chengyang and walked out, closing the door behind him.

Su Chengyang looked into the room and only then noticed that there were two foreigner sitting on the sofa.

Terry was a male singer, and the woman next to him, was she his assistant? She didn’t dress like one. Perhaps she was Terry’s collaborator?

Su Chengyang looked at the faces of the two people. Terry looked different from his profile photo. When he saw Su Chengyang looking at him, he waved and said, “Hello!”

Su Chengyang was stunned. She knew this was a greeting, but the problem was that she didn’t speak English!

How would they communicate if she was left alone here to meet with two foreigner?

Su Chengyang felt panicked inside but remained calm on the outside.

She walked over to the two people, and the woman sitting on the other side had been observing Su Chengyang with her eyes. Su Chengyang glanced at her and felt a sense of familiarity but couldn’t remember who she was.

“Hello,” Su Chengyang bowed slightly towards the two people.

Terry stood up from the sofa and gave her a gentleman’s bow. Then he took her right hand that was hanging by her side and gently kissed it on the back.

He didn’t look much different from the image that Su Chengyang had imagined of him. He felt like an ordinary person, only more handsome.

“You are more beautiful than I imagined.” Terry smiled brightly and spoke fluent Chinese, although it sounded a bit awkward, it was completely understandable.

Su Chengyang secretly breathed a sigh of relief and said, “Thank you.”

Terry turned his head and pointed to the woman on the other side, introducing her, “This is my friend. She was particularly interested in meeting you when she heard that I was going to see you.”

At this point, the woman smiled slightly, stood up, and walked towards Su Chengyang.

“Hello.” She extended her hand to Su Chengyang, who was a bit surprised that her Chinese was also very good.

Su Chengyang shook her hand and said, “Hello, I’m Su Chengyang.”

The woman’s lips curved, “I know. My name is Mary.”

Su Chengyang looked at her in surprise. No wonder she felt so familiar to her.

The woman was pleased with her expression, and her smile deepened, “It seems that Lin Yu mentioned me to you.”

Su Chengyang had never met Mary before. The only picture she had seen was the one that looked very similar in style to Lin Yu’s.

The woman in front of me is quite different from the one in the photo. In the photo, Mary appears both soft and compassionate, as well as wild and brutal. But in reality, she has no connection to either of these qualities. She neither appears soft nor brutal, and from her appearance to her makeup, body, and clothing, she looks like a seductive goddess.

No wonder Su Chengyang felt familiar at first glance. Even though she couldn’t distinguish the appearances of most foreigners, Mary’s appearance and temperament were unforgettable even after just seeing her once in a photo.

“You are different from what I imagined, and I am a bit disappointed,” Mary said candidly and straightforwardly while holding onto Su Chengyang’s hand, even tightening her grip.

She and Su Chengyang share a similar style of appearance: both have a bright and glamorous beauty. However, Mary showcases her beauty more through her clothing and makeup, while Su Chengyang is quite modest and doesn’t pay much attention to her own appearance.

Meeting for the first time, Mary expressed her first impression of Su Chengyang frankly.

Surprisingly, Su Chengyang smiled after hearing Mary’s comment. “I can’t please everyone. You surprised me too, and you’re also not what I imagined.”

Mary narrowed her beautiful eyes and gave her a meaningful look before letting go of her hand.

As soon as she let go, Su Chengyang let out a sigh of relief without showing it.

Despite not showing it, Mary’s aura was incredibly strong, and her tone of speech was not particularly good, even giving off a tense feeling. Although it wasn’t obvious from her appearance, Su Chengyang still felt nervous.

“Wow! You’re not even nervous in front of Mary!” Terry exclaimed. He placed one hand on Su Chengyang’s shoulder and led her to sit on the sofa. “You’re amazing! I’ve known Mary for seven or eight years, and sometimes I still feel nervous when I look at her.”

Su Chengyang wasn’t really nervous, but Mary was a celebrity whom Lin Yu had once brought up, so she was worried about embarrassing Lin Yu.

“How long have you been under contract?” Mary leaned back on the couch, lifting her diamond-studded nails casually.

Su Chengyang, treating her as a senior, answered honestly, “Two months.”

“Why did he choose you?” Mary continued to question.

Upon hearing her repeated questions, Su Chengyang didn’t answer immediately but fell silent.

Su Chengyang had a laid-back personality and didn’t like being led around by the nose by a stranger on their first meeting, even though she was considered a senior in the entertainment industry. So what?

After some thought, Su Chengyang asked back, “Miss Mary, have you studied Chinese? You speak it so well.”

Mary paused her admiration of her nails and unexpectedly raised her eyes to look at Su Chengyang, seeming dissatisfied with her answer.

She didn’t want to answer Su Chengyang. After meeting her in person, she knew that this woman was different from herself.

The two artists brought over by Lin Yu had similar looks and styles that could stun people at first glance. But obviously, Su Chengyang couldn’t match her visually as she didn’t use her appearance to the fullest.

Mary lifted her red lips, revealing a row of dazzling white teeth, and said, “Lin Yu loves Chinese culture, and I used to ask him for advice.”

Su Chengyang could understand how Mary currently viewed herself.

The position that originally belonged to her was now taken by Su Chengyang. Even if she had no relationship with Lin Yu, she would still feel that Su Chengyang had snatched her position, creating hostility towards her.

She probably answered this question to prove that her relationship with Lin Yu is much closer than Su Chengyang’s.

“Well, Manager Lin’s Chinese is also very good,” Su Chengyang responded flatly.

“Lin Yu is a very good person, right? He is very caring, responsible, and takes his work seriously. He separates his work and personal relationships very well,” Mary said.

Mary’s expression becoming much more serious as she mentioned Lin Yu, with no hint of arrogance or disregard. Her eyes released an obvious infatuation.

“Wow! I am also very interested in him, but I have never had a chance to meet him in person. I thought he would come today,” Terry said with regret.

“He won’t come. Lin Yu won’t come in person for this kind of event,” Mary said.

“Manager Lin is a very good person,” Su Chengyang affirmed.

Although she occasionally complained in her heart, she never really blamed Lin Yu.

Mary’s mood improved a lot when Lin Yu was mentioned, perhaps feeling that Su Chengyang posed no threat to her. Her tone was softer than before as she said, “You are very free under his control, right? Lin Yu never interferes with our private lives.”

Su Chengyang could not agree with this.

After a moment of silence, Su Chengyang suddenly asked, “Does Manager Lin allow you to date?”

Mary nodded, “Of course, he never interferes with my private life.”

Su Chengyang frowned. “But won’t dating affect an artist’s work?”

“Lin Yu doesn’t think so. He separates his personal life and work very well. He chose you because he thinks you have talent, and your personal life is never within his consideration.”

Su Chengyang was stunned. Was it really like this?

It seemed that it was.

When she signed with Starlight Entertainment, Su Chengyang had a lot of scandals surrounding her. She had even told Lin Yu in advance about her entanglement with Yang Xiuyi, and at the time, Lin Yu didn’t seem to care.

When Yang Xiuyi’s relationship was exposed, the company didn’t take any public relations action, and almost all of the public relations were done by Yang Xiuyi himself. This showed that the company didn’t care about his relationship being exposed. Later, he was held accountable because his plot to frame himself was exposed and it caused a mess in front of Lin Yu.

Moreover, when she signed the contract, Lin Yu only said to Su Chengyang to try not to date, and if she did, she should tell him in advance.

It seemed that he really didn’t care about an artist’s personal life.

“What’s wrong?” Mary asked, seeing Su Chengyang’s confused expression.

Su Chengyang shook her head. “Nothing, I just remembered that when I first signed the contract, Lin Yu told me to try not to date, and if I did, I should tell him in advance.”

Mary looked surprised after hearing this. “How could that be? Yu never interferes with my personal life. He is a very sensible person, and he usually wouldn’t do that.”

Terry noticed her face turning unpleasant and comforted her, “Darling, fans in each country have different aesthetics. Perhaps in China, the exposure of a celebrity’s romantic relationship can have a serious impact on their work.”

Su Chengyang responded, “Indeed, it is much stricter in China, and Manager Lin has not interfered with my personal life.”

Lin Yu handed over the letter from Xingxiu to herself without opening it.

Mary frowned, feeling that something was not quite right.

“Mary?” Terry called out in confusion.

Mary snapped back to reality and her eyes became complicated as she looked at Su Chengyang.

Su Chengyang didn’t understand what was going on, but didn’t intend to ask.

Su Chengyang turned to Terry and asked, “Teacher, did you call me here today just to see me?”

“Oh! Darling, of course not! We have little time left, so we’ll start rehearsing from today.”

“Okay.”

Mary stood up from the sofa with no expression on her face. “I want to go back now. I’ll come to the scene to support you in a few days.”

“Thank you, darling!”

Afterwards, Su Chengyang was taken to the dance studio.

Xiao Lu sat in the lounge area eating sweets, lying casually on the sofa and playing with her phone. As she was scrolling through a funny Weibo post, a figure suddenly walked past behind the sofa. She glanced over and felt a bit familiar, immediately putting down her phone and sitting up.

“Mary! Can you give me an autograph?”

A staff member approached the woman with a pen and paper.

The woman had a curvaceous figure, long hair draped over her shoulders, and a strong presence. She seemed to be in a bad mood.

“No,” she said, then strode away from the staff member.

Xiao Lu watched her leave in surprise, gaping in amazement. She quickly got up and ran to the staff member, asking, “Is she Mary?”

“Yes, she has quite a temper.”

“Which room did she come out of? How did she get here?”

“She came from over there…” The staff member pointed to the room behind the transparent glass wall and added, “She’s a friend of Terry’s.”

Xiao Lu suddenly felt like a bolt from the blue. They received the news that Mary’s flight was in two days. How could she appear here ahead of schedule?

It seemed like she wasn’t just here for Chengyang, but had already seen her!

Xiao Lu tightened her grip on her phone and quickly returned to the rest area to call Lin Yu.

“What’s wrong with Chengyang?”

As soon as the phone was connected, the person on the other end asked.

Xiao Lu looked around, and no one noticed her. She covered the receiver with her hand and lowered her voice, “Something big has happened!”

“Speak.”

“I saw Mary! She just came out of Terry’s room, looking very upset, and Chengyang was inside too.”

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone.

“Where’s Chengyang?”

“I don’t know. She hasn’t come out of the room yet.”

“I see,” Lin Yu said.

“Is that it? Are you not afraid she will bully Chengyang?”

Lin Yu replied calmly, “Chengyang is not as fragile as you think, besides, the one who left angry was Mary.”

Xiao Lu was taken aback, “Oh, right. Then, what are you going to do now, cousin brother?”

“I don’t want to involve Chengyang in this, these things have nothing to do with her.”

“Oh.”

“We don’t need to give Chengyang a diet meal at noon, but she can’t eat too much. I’ll come over after I finish my work.”

“Okay, I got it.”

Upon entering the dance studio, the walls were all lined with mirrors.

A slow-paced metal music was playing from the speakers, and a teacher was doing some strange movements along with the music.

Terry introduced, “This is Teacher Ye, in charge of choreography.”

Standing next to Terry, Chengyang walked up to the teacher and greeted her, “Hello, teacher.”

“Teacher Ye, this is Su Chengyang and Miss Su that I mentioned to you earlier.”

“Hello.” Teacher Ye shook hands with Su Chengyang. “My name is Ye Ming.”

“Miss Su’s image is indeed very suitable for the choreography of this song. Terry, did you mention to Miss Su in advance that the dance style is much bolder than other styles in China, especially in terms of clothing and movements?” Ye Ming asked.

Terry looked embarrassed and said something in English that Su Chengyang didn’t understand.

Su Chengyang explained, “Manager Lin told me in advance, so I am mentally prepared.”

“Okay, let’s get started. Terry can stay here too,” Ye Ming nodded.

Ye Ming opened her laptop and pulled up a video, placing it in front of Su Chengyang. “Miss Su, the movements are not difficult and don’t require any professional skills, but the style is different from what you have seen before.”

The video began playing, and in the dark stage, a beam of light suddenly appeared.

A woman stood in the center of the stage, wearing strips of cloth resembling mummy bandages, only covering the important parts. The exposed parts of her body were wrapped in chains soaked in blood, from her neck to her ankles, making her look like a tormented ghost struggling to escape from hell but bound by chains.

“I have to wear this?” Su Chengyang frowned.

In fact, the outfit was not too revealing, with important parts well protected and other parts tied with chains, revealing only a little. However, the overall impact was incredibly…striking.

Ye Ming nodded, “Yes.”
