Chapter 31：Player’s Everyday: Xiaoyun

"Kacha!" The familiar sound of a lock being opened rang out. The eyelids of all three people in the dorm room twitched and they thought, "It's time for our meal!"

The school had been locked down for three days. In the absence of the internet, the few girls could only get together to gossip to pass the time. However, Guo Xiaoyun didn't join them in their silly activity.

They discovered something unusual about Guo Xiaoyun. Despite there being no electricity and network these two days, she kept on insisting that she was playing a game. Other than meal time, she would keep herself locked up inside, not even having to go to the toilet! 

If it wasn't because she'd show up to get her meals on the dot every time, her roommates would wonder if she had become a celestial.

Moreover, she had always appeared very timely during meal times. Each time, it wouldn't be long after she came out that the soldiers at the door would urge them to go for their meals.

As expected, after a few seconds passed, the soldiers knocked on their door. "Come out for your meal."

The few of them quickly got up, tidied up, and then stood at the door. The soldiers would generally only remind them once. If they were to miss it, they would miss out on the meal.

On the first day, they had intentionally ignored them, leading to them not getting any food. They could only watch enviously as Guo Xiaoyun came back with a full stomach.

Ever since then, the few of them no longer dared to pull any stunts and would be extremely enthusiastic to go out timely for their meals. In addition to how Guo Xiaoyun was so on time every time like a human alarm clock, they would automatically gather at the door whenever they heard the sound of Xiaoyun unlocking the door.

The few of them quickly arrived at the canteen, escorted by the soldiers, and were arranged at a table for four.

During the lockdown, the students were only allowed to head out during meal times. There would be soldiers escorting them, and members from the same dorm room were forcefully assigned to dine at the same table. They weren't allowed to sit casually.

It was clear what their objectives were. If someone was infected, then this arrangement could let the spread be minimized to the smallest degree. The spread would at most be limited to the people from the same room.

At the dining table, Guo Xiaoyun gulped down the food as usual. Her table manners were horrible and attracted the gazes from the people around them.

Her few roommates were also very speechless. Guo Xiaoyun had been such a quiet young lady in the past. Why did she change so much after being put through a bit of agitation? Was there a need for her to eat as if her life was at stake?

It was fine if this was all. After she finished eating, she would always stare at them with a terrifying gaze. It wouldn't lose out to Sadako's dead fish eyes in a 5D movie. Despite the broad daylight, they would be so scared that they couldn't even hold their chopsticks properly!

"Hey... Can you not be like this?" The short-haired roommate, Yanan, couldn't help but hold onto her head and say something.

Xiaoyun was expressionless as she continued to stare at them. "Can you guys eat faster? I still have to go back to carry out my mission in the game."

Pa! Yanan put down her bowl and chopsticks fiercely. Clearly, she was on the verge of eruption.

Seeing this, Wen Shanshan quickly put down her bowl and chopsticks, speaking out before Yanan erupted. "Xiaoyun, you can eat a little slower next time. It's not good for the body to be eating so fast."

Guo Xiaoyun paid her no heed. She continued to say without wearing any expression on her face. "I have to carry out a mission in the game. I'm in a rush."

"What game?" Xinya couldn't help but put down her bowl and chopsticks as well. She frowned and said, "The network in the school has been cut off, so what game can you be playing?"

A huge commotion had broken out in the outside world during these two days that the school was locked down. Many media had their eyes on this place, so how could the school possibly dare to let the students recklessly post things online? They cut off the network. Thankfully, they didn't go to the extreme of cutting off the electricity as well.

Guo Xiaoyun looked up and said, "Offline games."

"What offline game is that? Is it fun?" Wen Shanshan asked curiously. She had been quite bored during these two days of being locked up. The few of them had nothing to do except to gossip, and things would get boring after a while. It might not be a bad idea if they were to play games like Xiaoyun.

"It's fun..."

"What is it called?"

Xiaoyun said, "The queen's 3,000 male harems!"

Everyone else: "..."

Wen Shanshan instantly covered up her face. "Xiaoyun, you should play less of such games. You'll turn into a fujoshi easily."

Xinya also chipped in, "That's right. Moreover, you can play that kind of game anytime. Do you have to be in a rush even when you eat? Are your desires so great?"

The moment she said this, Wen Shanshan instantly frowned. She felt that this senior's words were a little overboard.

Xiaoyun looked up and glared at her. Xinya felt annoyed by her glare and shot out angrily. "What? Is that not the case? You do this every time, making it hard for us to eat our meals as well. The situation has been bad enough these few days as is..."

"Some people are getting what they deserve." Xiaoyun interrupted her coldly. "Senior's countenance seems to be recovering quite well these two days. You even dare to hollow so loudly to attract attention. Do you feel that your body is alright now?"

Xinya was instantly rendered speechless and she glared back. However, she didn't continue bickering.

Xiaoyun felt increasingly annoyed at Xinya. She really didn't want to give her the detoxification serum, but she didn't have a choice. She couldn't possibly just watch as her other two roommates died together with Xinya, right?

Moreover, if everyone but her in the dorm had been infected, she would definitely be dragged out to be researched on. She naturally couldn't let something like this happen. Therefore, two days ago, she had sneaked into their rooms to inject the detoxification solution into them.

Although she had resolved the issue with the virus in the school, she was unable to remove the school's lockdown. After all, in order to not let the news be leaked out, the people at the top would definitely have the lockdown for a while. Moreover, she was unable to tell them that the issue had been resolved.

This was actually nothing. Anyway, she was usually indoors, playing her game. The only troublesome thing was the compulsory meal time. In fact, after knowing of the truth behind this game, she knew that it'd be fine even if she were to stay in there every day. It was because the other end actually existed, and she could rest, eat, and drink there. She didn't need to waste her time at the canteen like she was doing now.

Moreover, as a top student, she was instantly drawn in after coming into contact with the new knowledge those NPCs taught. Every day, she would drown herself in the brand new sea of knowledge, unable to get out. She had a strong urge to absorb the new knowledge every minute and second. She didn't wish to waste even a second to eat those bad-tasting food at the canteen.

However, she had to come out. Otherwise, she'd definitely arouse suspicions if she didn't have any food for a few days. It'd be troublesome if the soldiers forcibly entered her room to find that she had disappeared. Therefore, she would eat with such horrible manners. She merely just wanted to return to the base as soon as possible and continue to roam in the sea of knowledge.

These few days, her performances in the few courses she took had been exemplary. The instructors had great praises for her, and Xiye decided to let her take the arcane arts course.

Having had her mind set on becoming a mecha warrior, she had initially resisted the thought of becoming a lord wizard. However, when the arcane arts' knowledge was placed right before her, after a few unconscious glances, she ended up holding onto that basic arcane arts spellbook.

Right now, she was taking five basic courses in addition to a specialty in arcane arts. However, it was still effortless for her to learn these. She increasingly felt that the Developer bloodline suited her very well!

Right now, she was no longer envious of those men who did physical labor. As expected... studying was still more interesting.

Due to her outstanding learning abilities, Xiye finally decided that she would be the overall commander for this collaborative mission against the large-scale virus outbreak.

The mission was set to take place 16 days later. Xiaoyun was a little worried at the thought of the mission. She had no idea how long the lockdown here would continue for. If it wasn't removed after half a month, then she would have a lot of inconvenience in carrying out her operation.

After all, this mission wasn't something as simple as stopping the virus!
