CH 3.2

3. Now that we’re done, let’s change the female lead (2)

She was face down on her desk when she opened her eyes.

Why did she keep having this dream where she found it hard to wake up?

Did she have sleep paralysis?

Turning her stiff shoulders, So-hee stopped after reading a sentence at the messenger floating on the monitor.

It was a message from the novel’s producer.

[Wow! Author Sohee!]

[This episode is amazing!]

“This episode? What’s wrong with you? You are scaring me–”

She clicked on the message and read the full text.

[Unlike the last episode, the reactions are great.]

[I was a bit worried because last time, swear words had flooded the comments section. As expected!  You are a genius, author-nim! !^^]

What is this strange familiarity?

With her chin on her hand, she hurriedly entered the novel platform.

“Oh my gosh.”

A  paid series had been released an hour ago.

When she clicked on it and entered, it surprised her that it was similar to her dream.

But the slightly different thing was the lines in which she kept talking as if she wasn’t a character in her novel were wholly omitted.

The story in her dream remained a somewhat plausible waste.

“There are all sorts of strange cases like this?”

Who was taking the surprise camera right now?

She spat out a nervous laugh as she opened the comment window.

As the producer said, a positive public opinion was their main focus.

[I don’t think the heroine needs to come out after this. The second male lead had already gone insane.]

[She tried to kill herself but can she still survive? Just link Ariad to everyone. Let it be reverse harem!]

I [Not that curious about the main female lead’s story. Let Ariad become the heroine!]

After reading all the comments, So-hee’s nostrils flared with excitement but soon, tears welled from her eyes.

“Oh, no! The main female lead, Kelly Eurecia, is so pretty and kind. She had a lot of charming qualities that I haven’t shown in the story yet. Ariad is a supporting female character who just sleeps around and dies. There’s no way that I would make her the female lead.”

“I had already written down hundreds of thousands of characters, and they told me to get rid of my real heroine just like that?  Never.” The novelist uttered furiously as she recalled the hundreds of hours she had spent writing the novel.

Another message from the producer popped out on the monitor.

[Author! Have you seen the comments?] Can you change the story?]

“Oh my gosh.” So-hee groaned and buried her face in the desk.

Worrying about public opinion was the source of an author’s sorrow.

“Yes, you have to do it to make money. What can I do? I’m not a superwoman.”

She looked up again to turn on the Korean language window and tried to edit the next one.

At that moment,  an important question arose in her mind.

“Would it even matter if I continue writing this?”

Whenever she dreamed about her story, the contents were already serialized on the webnovel platform without going through her hands.

In the end, she couldn’t post what she had written twice.

The character backgrounds might still be similar in the novel but unfortunately, everyone were busy doing whatever they want despite given such a setting.

“Why are you consulting me about that?”

It would be good for the producer to recommend her to a psychiatric hospital because she had gone insane from writing at home.

Soon, So-hee’s gaze turned to the sleeping pill beside the monitor.

Her brain circuits came up with a brilliant plan as she looked at it.

“This is sweet.”

She didn’t have to make a synopsis and write.

So-hee just had to sleep, and boom!

She could make a complete series without breaking a sweat.

And then, she will earn a lot of money!

That would be killing two birds with one stone.

“Wow, I must be a genius!”

So-hee shook her head and laughed.

She still had no idea what kind of ability this was, but if she dreamed about her story again and immediately picked up where she left off, it meant that she could just eat and play for the rest of her life.

“Great job!”

So-hee swallowed the sleeping pill in front of her without drinking water.

“I’m creating another great story so I must hurry up and sleep.”

So-hee laid comfortably in her bed, giggling, and lowered her heavy eyelids to welcome the darkness with joy.

* * *

“Ariad.”

When she opened her eyes, she saw Deon holding her hand tightly.

Yes!

She succeeded in continuing the novel again.

So-hee danced inside.

“What’s the problem, Ariad? Is it because you hate me? I thought we had a good relationship.” Deon said faintly. “Tell me the reason.”

His beautiful chiseled face seemed melancholic after seeing Ariad suffer from the fall.

“No, Ari. You don’t have to answer me. Even if you don’t like it, I’ll still keep you next to me.”

His grim countenance changed in an instant.

Deon’s grey eyes went mad and fierce, perfectly fitting for the role of an insane supporting male character.

‘How can I make the story fun?’  So-hee agonized over the thought.

She sighed when she saw Deon wrapped the chains around her wrist again.

Once Ariad becomes the heroine, perhaps, Joshua might change his mind.

To do that, she had to get out of Deon’s arms.

“Deon, I promise I won’t jump to escape you anymore. Can you untie this for me, please?” She pleaded gently.

Deon narrowed his eyes at her, thinking that the tone she used didn’t sound like Ariad at all.

Judging from his suspicious gaze, he disapproved of her request.

“How can I trust you when you had jumped to your death twice? You are fortunate that a tree branch had caught you the last time. The second time brought you really close to death, Ari. You broke both of your legs. Almost half dead.”

His hooded eyes glanced at the bandages wrapped around her legs.

Oh my god.

Yes, she had to make a great story, but Deon’s gaze made it seem like he wanted to do another bed scene again.

This was still in the 3rd episode, right?

3rd episode?

“No way. My novel can’t be this loose.”

Deon shut his eyes tightly and sighed before opening his eyes to watch Ariad in confusion.

After hearing her speak gibberish multiple times, Deon was reminded again that Ariad had gone insane.

“Ari, rest here for a month first. I will let you go after you recover.”

“A month? That’s too long.”

“Do you want to get away from me as soon as possible?”

“It’s not like that. If Ariad wants to be a heroine, I must meet Joshua…”

The instant Deon heard Joshua’s name, Deon blared like a man who had his seizure buttons pressed.

“No way!”

“Oh, my God, Deon. Do you have to yell?”

A huge hand crushed her shoulder.

“I’ll bring you the divorce papers. Sign them, and break up with him forever.”

Oh, then they would be dead soon.

She shook his head while scanning Deon’s appearance.

He was hot as usual, but he had a bloody nose.

It was a waste for him to die so soon.

Deon jumped up, leaving So-hee to drool as she stared at his muscled physique.

Should she fetch her divorce papers right now?

The door suddenly opened.

Deon’s face crumpled at the unwelcome character.

As he swept away his black hair, Joshua entered with a slow smile. “I thought about it for a long while, Ariad. I don’t want to divorce so easily.”

He walked towards her leisurely like a predator at the top of the food chain, and it overwhelmed her.

Nice timing!

So-hee cheered internally at the exciting development.
