4. Kissing for Escape (1)

“On second thought, I didn’t want to get divorced this easily.” Joshua said.

Deon had a strong urge to hit Joshua as he approached him, his fierce gaze meeting Joshua’s blood-red eyes as if they were ready to tear each other’s throats.

“Don’t be a jerk and get lost, Joshua. Ari is mine.”

“How do you manage to become possessive and shitty at the same time? What kind of woman would put up with an ugly and terrible thing like you despite releasing her from her chains?”

“Ha! You sounded like you’re truly in true love with Ari. You haven’t had any children in the three years of your marriage, am I right?”

“It was because I wasn’t that interested in Ariad—-” Their harsh conversation got cut off when Joshua’s enemy glanced down at Sohee. “—However, I became interested in her since yesterday. I’m gonna have to keep her next to me so that I can drag her down to the pits of Hell.”

Joshua smiled, his red eyes burning with nothing but  hatred.

Yes.

Joshua’s reputation as the crown prince had been dragged into the mud because of Ariad’s disloyalty and fickle nature.

Her unfaithfulness was repulsive.

Joshua pulled out a knife over So-hee, who was currently nodding there in contemplation.

“What are you doing, you punk?”

Deon approached them menacingly and Joshua did a good job ignoring him.

After cutting all her chains off with a knife, Joshua tried to lift her because she couldn’t move from hurting her leg.

Fuck.

So-hee heard a loud strike and Joshua’s body stumbled in the blink of an eye.

Deon couldn’t control his anger and punched him.

Joshua grinned in response as he wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.

“Deon. You might look like a beast yet you still aren’t aware of how stupid you are. I’ll punish you for hurting a royalty sooner or later!”

“Ha! I’m so scared that I’m shaking in my boots, Your Highness!”

The strength of Deon’s sarcasm was fierce enough to penetrate the ceiling.

Sitting in the middle of this mess, So-hee held her hands together and continued to ponder the conflict.

Good.

They must proceed with this kind of drama!

“I am Ariad’s husband and she had absolutely no reason to be here.”

“Her husband? You threw the divorce papers on her face, Joshua!  You’re not making any sense.”

“I’m telling you that I have changed my mind.”

Joshua turned his head to stare at So-hee sharply.

The eye contact was too strong until her enemy flashed her the most gorgeous smile she had ever seen.

“I’ll tie her up and put her next to me, instead.”

She blinked. “What?”

So-hee had quietly listened to their conversation the whole time but the unexpected development made her want to intervene.

“Why would you always insist on tying me up?  My precious freedom is the most important and most basic human right!”

Ignoring her words, Joshua’s head turned back to Deon.

” And I’ll trample you down, Deon.”

“You crazy bastard! How dare you tell me I’m ugly and terrible for tying her up?” Deon spat at his feet.

Joshua stood up to him and smirked.

“I don’t mean to beg for her love like you did. I’ll lock her up and then, I’ll keep her mind twisted to death!” He said sharply.

So-hee could only grimace, anxiously wondering whether romance with the male lead was still possible.

Deon ignored Joshua.

He was already firm in his decision not to let her go.

Deon tried to tie So-hee with another set of chains that she hadn’t known where it came from.

“No, wait a minute!” So-hee screeched.

Two pairs of red and green eyes turn towards her.

“Please don’t chain me like  this anymore. Please.”

If she wanted to make the story funny and interesting, she couldn’t be stagnant.

However, the two didn’t respond.

Joshua also pushed Deon hard with a string that she also didn’t know where he’d brought it from.

“You’d better get out of the way while I’m still being nice, Deon.”

“Get out of my way, you punk!”

“If you insist on being a danger  to the both of us, I have no choice but to use force.”

“I wonder how strong is that force you are talking about.” Deon shot back.

So-hee shouted over the loud,  fierce discussion.

“Hey, guys! I think it’s fun and everything is good, but please don’t tie me up like this!” She continued her lonely fight between the two towering masculine heights.

“Guys! Can’t you hear me? Did I become invisible? Guys?”

Wow, no one answered her until the end.

How mean!

“Come on in.”  So-hee heard Joshua say as the royal knights from the outside rushed into the room.

“Ha. Is this the power you are talking about, Your Highness?” Deon remarked sarcastically.

Not biting Deon’s bait, Joshua simply declared, “Take Deon Filtmore to the Royal Court.”

The Knights surrounded Deon and tried to hold him down.

Deon had punched them with all his might, but he was  outnumbered.

He was eventually captured and dragged away from the room.
