CH 9.2

Ari, Run Away With Me (2)

This man had no interest in other women and lived his life according to the beat of his drum.

Deon had never felt jealousy or hatred for anyone, but that changed when he met Joshua McKinley as a teenager.

Joshua was a man who seemed kind to everyone, always ready to give that  bright smile to everyone he met. But the instant he turned his back, he quickly dropped that facade.

Deon was aware of his deception and that was why he disliked him.

In addition to that, people had praised Joshua a lot for handling the tasks given to him efficiently.

It stressed him out to be the same age with such a man and be compared to him very day.

The one thing that upset him the most was Ariad, the woman he had taken a fancy with ever since he was young, who was married to Joshua.

This drove Deon crazier, making him hate Joshua even more.

“Ha! Did you sleep with him, Ari?”

His eyes made her feel like he desired to tear her to shreds.

Immediately regretting that slip-of-tongue, she tried to lie. “No, we didn’t sleep at all, Deon. W—we aren’t even close! It’s just… He’s bothering me. Please let go of this hand! You are hurting me to death!”

As far as Deon was concerned, Ariad and Joshua were on terrible terms.

Deon approached Ariad recently, thinking he could stand beside her and replace Joshua.

He was sure he had her quickly on that first night they shared.

That lovely atmosphere where he had gently clutched Ariad’s hand wasn’t a hallucination.

“I don’t like to see this, Ari.”

Deon lowered his head to kiss the red traces embroidered on her skin.

It didn’t shock her that he was being rough.

Again.

“Hey! You crazy bastard!”

His insistent touch was as scalding and bitter as coffee.

Deon sank his teeth into the flesh he coveted so much like a beast and left a greater mark, completely removing Joshua’s.

As she struggled underneath his huge form, So-hee realized she couldn’t escape and simply gave up.

She allowed her muscles to relax as she closed her eyes shut.

The small break in her skin hurt so much that it made her wince.

She couldn’t believe that Deon was this determined to possess her.

At this moment, the most regrettable thing So-hee had ever done was to write Deon’s character as clingy in the story’s synopsis.

If she knew she would be Ariad, she should have taken that word out earlier and replaced it with something else.

Well, what’s the point of regretting that now?

Yes.

It was entirely her fault for creating this webnovel.

“You’re mine, Ari. No one can touch you.”

After a long while, the jealousy and pain in his deep baritone subsided.

When Deon was done inspecting the love bite, he raised his head and smiled in satisfaction.

The red mark on her swan-like neck was now replaced by something that almost looked like a bruise.

Deon’s gentle gaze searched So-hee’s eyes, where tears had begun to form at the corners due to pain.

He smiled at her in amusement. “Ari, run away with me.”

“Get a grip, Deon. Stop talking nonsense.”

“Like you, I’m out of my mind. I know you love me, too, Ari. Run away with me.”

So, Deon just came up with his conclusion.

They had their first night together not long ago, right?

Deon and Ariad must have clung to each other as if they had nothing but to lean on.

Did Ariad even feel the same way he did for her?

It would be a lie if So-hee said she didn’t.

So-hee exhaled a deep sigh.

Unfortunately, she wasn’t his Ari.

Plus, So-hee didn’t even like him one bit.

Deon wasn’t even the first male lead in her web novel, so why would she run away with him?

“Is it because you’re scared of Joshua? Don’t worry. I’ll kill him for you.”

“How can you kill him—-”

‘Deon, you’re gonna have to die first.’

She swallowed the threat before she could spit it out.

So-hee just closed her eyes and leaned against the wall in response.

Sweat had trickled down her back, soaking the back of her dress wet.

The heat abated a little when it touched the cold stone.

Deon’s fingers gently fiddled with her pale cheek.

When his slow caresses started moving downward, So-hee bit her lower lip and muttered a curse.

“Stop it.”

He still proceeded with it despite her gracious protest.

She couldn’t even bring herself to be angry when her energy was all drained.

It’s Joshua and Deon.

These wolves are all greedy and don’t care about Ariad’s physical condition.

Deon’s lips, which were now close to her lower body, twisted into a smirk.

“Then, were you searching for a contraceptive pill because you had sex with me?”

This guy was aware of her machinations.

However, it was a mistake to think that the conversation would work only then.

“Let’s have a baby.”

“What?”

“I’ll be nice to you. I’ll take good care of you.” His grey eyes grew mournful. “Ari, live with me. I had built a mansion in the countryside just for you.”

“What?”

There wasn’t a place like that as far as she knew.

So-hee thought Ariad would die anyway, so she only made a vague and rough background setting so that Deon could move freely in it.

“My status as a Duke, my business and my loyal subjects….  I can throw them all away for you. Run away with me, Ari.”

It appeared like Deon was really in love with a woman named Ariad.
