Chapter 8.2

He lived as if he were one with a sword. He was a person who had to train several times a day to relieve himself, so I understood well the relationship between him and my enemy older brother.

Anyway, the relationship between the two began to change rapidly as I spoke about divorce.

No matter how much Alexid was an enemy-like older brother, he was my one and only blood.

Back when we talked about divorcing Gerald, this was my brother’s response.

“Did he cheat on you?”’

It was a simple and straightforward question.

“Do you think so? What do you think?’

“’. . .The Gerald I know is not a man that would do that. If he had cheated on you . . . Argh! Stop, stop! Why are you kicking me?” He yelled. “And at this age!”

“If you don’t get old at the age of thirty-two, then you have to be hit.”

“I would be ashamed to see my nephew, Won,” I replied. “Please have a normal reaction, my dearest older brother.”

It wasn’t a normal conversation.

“Then? Gerald is upset? Not you?” he asked.

“Oppa.”

“Huh?”

“Are you asking me to fight?” I gritted my teeth as a response.

That wasn’t a normal conversation either.

What’s wrong with Alexid even when he’s older?

It was really embarrassing to say that in front of my cute, lovely, and pretty nephews. In fact, Alexid was married later than I. Unlike me, who had to engage for political and private reasons since I was young.

But Alexid became a parent first.

I was as jealous as the babies were pretty and jealous as I cried.

Alexid doesn’t know how I feel.

Eventually, after I declared my divorce, a cold wind began to blow between the two of them.

Gerald ignored Alexid, who was hostile to him and that was the reason why Alexid hated Gerald.

In the end, it was because of me that the relationship between the two, who used to get along well like close brothers, was broken.

To soothe the bitter taste coming out of my mouth, I pushed the soft cream into my mouth.

“Alexid must be coming.”

“Yes.”

“Well . . .”

Gerald hesitated to call me. As I stared into his eyes, I could see myself reflected in his transparent eyes that looked straight at me.

The unicorn was looking cool today as well.

“What is it?” I replied indifferently.

In fact, I was in a position wherein I should be the one who would ask for a favor, but it was not very comfortable for me to see him.

“You’re not a pig.”

“What?”

What do you mean pig?”

“You’re neither ugly nor a pig.”

Gerald’s eyelashes trembled. Perhaps ashamed of what he was saying now, my porcelain white cheeks were now colored pink. Gerald’s face turned red with his eyes down and lips closed was adorable and cute.

Only then did I understand what Gerald was trying to say.

Gerald was worried if I was hurt by Alexid.

“You’re pretty,” Gerald muttered in a very small voice.

The cream and cherries that I bit in my mouth seem to melt away.

“You’re very beautiful, Lulu.”

As a right and straight man, he had never really said empty words, so I could say that he was speaking the truth. And his sincerity had already been top-notch.

Pit-a-pat-pat-a-pat.

My mental age was 30 years old, but his comment made my heart beat with a body of only 8 years old.

How long has it been since I heard that I was pretty?

It has been so long since he said sweet words.

Since he had only said things that were good to hear, I was mistaken that he liked me. And he slowly broke my imagination of dreaming of happiness.

With a thorough simplicity.

Don’t be silly, Louella.

He cleared his throat and tried to put down the fork.

I smiled through, ignoring the fact that the comment he made made my heart flutter. “Thank you, Jeje. You’re also . . . You’re pretty.”

All right, that was a good response.

It was when I was clearing my throat thinking that way.

Bam!

The door was wide open. Of course, it was Alexid who jumped in with a smiling face. Alexid ran straight to me.

“Hey! Oh, Jae Jae is here too.”

Alexid was trying to tell me something with an excited face but stopped when he saw Gerald.

“Hi, Alexid.” He smiled brightly. It was the first time I saw him smile like that.

It’s been a long time since I saw the two having a conversation like this. It was as if they were back to normal a long time ago.

“What’s going on? Did you get off work already?” I asked.

No way!

“No, I came first, not dad!”

Alexid turned his head around and confirmed that no one was there, and bowed down to me. Then, I put my mouth on his ear and whispered. “AHHHHHH!”

“What?”

My ears are itchy!

After pushing Alexid away, he rubbed his ears. How can it sound right when you say it like that? People would think weird about us!

Alexid slapped my mouth for yelling in his ear. He looked sulky. Still, I wondered if I should say anything I wanted to say and shout.

Then my older brother puffed up his chest proudly. He looked very proud of his hands on his waist. “My dad told me to train in the Order of Knights!”
