Chapter 30.2

Alexid, who was watching Louella peeking outside, shook his head and sighed, “I think the pig is getting weird.”

As an older brother, he was really tired.

That way, Alexid might really have to live with her for the rest of his life. But if they were engaged, Alexid would have to live with Gerald?

He had never heard of that before.

“Didn’t the pig lie?” Alexid puffed up his cheeks and narrowed his eyes.

Their time as children went by fast.

The leaves fell, and autumn came. The snow fell, and the winter came.

Then, Gerald entered the Academy.

* * *

[Lulu. Aren’t you going to write a letter? You didn’t even come to the entrance ceremony.]

[Sorry, Jeje. Alexid was sick that day. The heat was getting out of hand. Now I’m running around because of him and am really busy. Why didn’t he think about going to the academy? Now, he’s calling me again. Bye!]

[I met Billiers here, too. Billiers goes out once a week to see you . . . I can’t do that because I’m not a student who does research. Lulu, I miss you. What have you been up to lately?]

[Vacation is coming up soon. We’ll be able to meet! And we met last vacation, too. Oh, I think I’ll be there with Youngji this time during your vacation. My mom asked me to go there together and come back. In the meantime, please take care of Alexid.

I don’t know if he’s going through puberty or was it about to go out. This little peanut is called Alexid. I think studying with Billiers is fun.

These days? I’m learning accounting with my mom. I think it’s fun. I’ll write to you again.]

[I didn’t know I’d miss training with Alexid and the Knights. There’s so much to do. Is this what it’s like to be a senior student?

I started taking a new course this time. There’s economics, politics, and magic. I’ve learned that I have magical powers.

I’ll learn something fun next time and show you. Lulu, are you still busy?]

* * *

Of course I’m busy.

I put down the letter I received and finished my makeup. The maids put down their brushes.

“What do you think? Do I look pretty?”

“Of course! My lady, you’re so pretty!”

I thought so too. When did you grow up so prettily?

I had a hard time with acne in my past life, but this time, I took good care of it, so I grew up without any problems.

My skin was white and fluffy, my eyes glistened with the light of sunset, and my olive hair was gleaming.

“Hoo.”

I fiddled with my exposed neckline.

Being able to wear clothing that revealed the collarbone meant that I had already come of age.

Today was finally the Coming-of-Age Day that I had been waiting for.

And soon Billiers would show up with his research results.

Everything was going the way I wanted it to.

There was only one thing left.

Dating a lot of men! Falling in love! Finding the right man!

And today was the first step for me.

* * *

I was waiting in front of the banquet hall for my name to be called. Alexid looked at me and sarcastically said, “Can an ugly pumpkin turn into a pretty watermelon? Of course not! You’re still a carrot, a carrot.”

I just stared at him without saying a word.

I was tired of dealing with Alexid with words.

Alexid tested me from time to time, knowing I wouldn’t want to argue with him anyway.

He must have forgotten that I was wearing high heels now.

I smirked as I stepped on Alexid’s foot.

“Argh! Hey, you pig!”

Serves you right.

“Peanut.”

Alexid glared at me. Alexid, bent down and fiddling with his feet, snatched my arm.

“Anyway, this isn’t coming of age. Who would take you as their—? I mean, if you were engaged, we wouldn’t have any problem.”

“That’s funny. You said you didn’t want Gerald to live with us.”

“Hey, you fuc— that’s why I—”

“Oh, you two. Are you fighting again?” Veronica appeared in front of us with a worried expression.

Oho.

Veronica covered her mouth slightly with her hands and laughed.

Oh, my God. There’s an angel here.

Why do I have so many beautiful people around me? From the unicorn who almost got engaged with me and now I’m with an angel.

“It’s not that . . .” Alexid tried to make an excuse.

“Veronica, this was what I wanted to tell you before. Alexid cried and said to me, ‘I like Veronica, but I can’t live in Veronica’s house just because I like her.”

“Oh . . . Was it the day of our engagement?” Veronica looked back at her memory and smiled. “Hmm.”

No one here would ever forget that day.

He was depressed for several days before the engagement ceremony and suddenly burst into tears.

Everybody panicked and Alexid shouted, “I heard that if I have to be engaged, I’ll have to live in Veronica’s house . . . Then do I have to . . .

My mom gave me a look. Alexid was really gullible. So unlike his age.

I was gullible as well. And my mom knew I was the only child who would fool Alexid like that.

“Oh, stop talking about that. It’s all because my sister is a con artist. Maybe it’s because she’s a carrot, but she has no human conscience.” Alexid said as he rolled his eyes.

“Oh, my. How can you describe your pretty younger sister as a carrot?” Veronica smiled, but a hint of coldness could be felt in the tone of her voice.

“Of course, she is a carrot! Scarlet eyes, green hair. Ugh!”
