Chapter 37.1

“Storm? Was it because I was a little bit distracted and was thinking about someone else?”

“It’s not like that. Well, I already have my eyes set on another lady… And I’m having a date with her too.”

Storm chose to ruin my reputation as the princess of Leander, I mean, how could he even turn down a date with me? It seemed that I had not noticed the look of seriousness in his eyes.

“What do you mean by that?” I asked.

Him turning me down didn’t mean that others wouldn’t spread a strange rumor about Louella of the Leander family.

I felt like I had to keep quiet about this strange rejection that I had gone through.

“I’m sorry.”

Storm fled from his seat.

* * *

“Oh, I can’t believe this!”

I thought that the date was okay. Storm was a great man as well. How could he say that he had a date with another girl? Why on Earth did he agree to go on a date with me then?

I went to where Flora was as I walked down the road. I found her sitting in a small tea cafe near the street.

Flora offered me a cup of tea.

“Drink this tea and cool off. You should think about the fact that it’s possible for him to do that. You made an appointment with three men at the same time. Maybe he came out to say no?”

“Is that so? I liked him the best out of the three.”

“Well, his looks aren’t the greatest for me out of the three.”

“Face is not important,” I answered with a sigh.

Flora really doesn’t know anything.

I clicked my tongue and shook my head in disappointment.

“Come to think of it……. I heard Gerald left the Academy early.”

“That’s right.”

“Did you never talk about Billiers?”

I think it might be the other way around. I don’t think I can tell you about Billiers.

“They’ve completed the Nisephor drug. I think we might have to announce it to the conference soon and take it to the commercialization stage? I remember you said that you wanted to study medicine.”

“But then, you might have to keep studying with Billiers.”

Flora sighed with regret.

I stopped studying with Billiers when I came of age. It was better that way to prevent unnecessary scandals.

And besides, I got busy. Billiers was also in a chaotic situation as he started his new studies.

“If you’d like, why don’t you go to the academy yourself?”

“As if we’re not friends! Don’t be like that and just make room for me in front of Billiers. I’ll take care of the rest.”

“What are you going to do?”

Flora folded her sleeves to reveal her white skin.

“The art of seduction?”

“Oh, my God!”

I didn’t know what had gotten into her, but it was really embarrassing for me to see her act like that!

I pulled down Flora’s sleeves instead.

“What’s the matter, Lulu? How naive.”

I’m not as naive as you think I am. It’s just that I don’t have as much experience despite how much I know.

“So, who will give your neck the shiniest necklace first?” Flora smiled.

When women who reached adulthood wore clothes that revealed their collarbones, they were supposed to receive necklaces from the men or family members they met.

It was a kind of gift for a woman who had become an adult.

I had not been given a necklace just yet, but I might get it from my mom or brother, but I wanted to wear the necklace that I would receive from a man who cared for me and fell in love with me for the first time.

Flora shrugged her shoulders with her shawl stretched, “You’re still sensitive to cold. Should I tell someone to bring me a brazier to warm you with?”

“Yeah. Don’t you think it’s colder this winter?”

“I think it’s similar to last year.” Flora beckoned and ordered the maid to bring the brazier.

I could not relax until the stove was placed next to me.

I feel like it’s getting colder from time to time.

“Oh, that’s why I wanted to talk with you, Flora. Which noble meeting do you want to go to?”

“Well, I want to meet nobles that will introduce me to good men. How about this meeting?”

“…embroidery meeting?”

“They say the ladies here are so classic and elegant.”

“Do you know how to embroider?”

“No. What about you?”

She shook her head.

I remembered the last time I tried embroidery, I ended up quitting.

I think I was about 13 years old at that time. It seemed fun to do with other people. Girls of that age started to learn embroidery, and that was the basic knowledge for women.

So, I said I’d give it a try. At that time, Gerald, who was on vacation for a while, did all my homework.

It was a great deal.

He was very good at it as well. He had big hands, but he was so good at delicate work.
