Chapter 50.1

“It would be nice if there was a way to help the drug absorb the illness. Hmm.” Yunelli bowed her head slightly.

“……How about sweetening the monkey grass and adding it to the medicine.”

“Monkey grass has already been added in small amounts to the medicine.”

“Of course, I know, but Billiers you seem to have missed one thing.”

Billiers had a quizzical look on his face.

“You used the monkey grass to blend the medicine and mana stone together in harmony, right? Is that right?”

“Yes, ma’am.” Billiers stared at Unelli and he was wondering what she meant by that.

“It’s the body that needs to absorb the medicine. If that’s how it works, then we should have focused on how the body absorbs drugs as well!”

Billiers’ pupils dilated. He understood what Unelli was saying. In retrospect, Billiers had focused on completing the drug itself. He didn’t think of anyone else taking medicine. That was pointed out by Unelli.

“You mean that making it sweet and drinking monkey grass will help the body absorb the medicine.”

Unelli nodded. “Isn’t it worth a try? Fortunately, monkey grass is not toxic. And the greenhouse has a lot of monkey grass.”

“Thank you, madam.”

“I’m rather thankful. After all, you’re the one who’ll save my niece and son-in-law.”

Billiers laughed shyly at Unelli’s words. Even Billiers was excited by the praise he received from his respected teacher. He got the right answer after he was searching for it while being trapped in a maze. After talking to the doctor, Billiers concluded that the monkey grass would help him recover. If the Grand Duke Leander recovered without any aftereffects this time, it will be a new revolution.

Gerald paced in front of Louella’s bedroom. Louella had a strange look on her face when she looked at Gerald before leaving Arthur’s bedroom. It was an expression that had hatred and affection combined together. Gerald knew what it meant. Louella always looked at Gerald like that in her previous life.

He chased Louella, but he wasn’t confident enough to get close to her and see her expression again. It seemed like Louella was going to scream for divorce once again. Louella always told Gerald that she wanted to get divorced with all her heart. At first, he felt like he was just hearing things, but later, he just prayed earnestly. He felt like he was out of breath.

Gerald washed his face then patted it dry. He felt like his blood was cooling down.

‘That can’t be true. This time…’

Gerald shook his head as his thoughts consumed him. He didn’t know what had caused Louella to make that face again.

[You’re going to take her away from me again. Whatever it may be.]

Gerald bit his lip. Once again, the black Uroboros warned Gerald.

[It’ll be late before she’s taken away. I’ll keep her away from you as far as I can.]

A storm raged in his heart. His heart, which was accustomed to misfortune, reminded Gerald of the worst. It was when Louella died. And when Louella begged Gerald and wanted to get a divorce. Gerald acknowledged that he had to make a decision.

It appeared that fate would no longer let Louella and Gerald swing their hands together.

It was early in the morning that my mother came to her senses. It was partly because of the shock she had, and it was also because the doctor, who was worried about her mother’s health, explained the situation and made her take sedatives to calm herself.

Unlike yesterday, Mom looked like she was in a good condition.

“Mom.” I rushed into her arms and hugged her.

My mother, who was coming out of the bedroom, dressed appropriately as usual, hugged me with a surprised face. “Daughter?”

“Yeah. Are you okay?”

“Of course. It’s nothing. I heard that my daughter was so nice to her mom yesterday.” My mother kissed me on the forehead. “You’re really an adult, Lulu.”

“Of course! I’m 18 years old now. I’m already a grownup, Mom. Now there was no need to get tangled up with Alexid like an eight-year-old child.”

My mom patted my hair.

Still, there was only one thing that had not changed. I still felt great in my mother’s arms. I liked that I was shorter than my mom. I can always hug her like this.

Everyone in my family was tall, but I was especially short. Being in my mother’s arms like this, I felt all the worries I had all night yesterday were useless.
