Veronica kissed Alexid’s forehead, but to me, it looked like she was a saint doing that.
“I should go in first.” Veronica shrugged.
“See you next time, Veronica.” Alexid answered.
“You guys clean up a bit and go home.”
Veronica waved her hand to say hello and arranged her seat. Flora and Alexid were guided by the servants.
“We’re starting now, right?” Gerald laughed.
“The liquor store was here. How much are you going to drink?”
I shrugged and exchanged cups with Gerald. The combination of alcohol heated my mouth tightly and it combined with fruit that cooled down the heat I felt. It was really the best.
“Drink slowly.” Gerald put cold water in front of me. The dew formed on the surface of the glass.
Really, I’m feeling even more sensitive than I was before.
Maybe it’s because I drank. Or it’s because of the alcohol.
I felt a lump in my throat.
I feel sorry for Gerald.
I felt sorry.
For some reason, tears fell. My already fragile mind was shaken by the intoxication affecting my body..
Another tear fell.
“Why are you crying?” Gerald wiped my tears with his fingers. Gerald’s eyes shook as he stared at me.
I wasn’t crying, it looked like Gerald was crying.
“I’m sad.”
“Why are you sad?”
“I’m sorry.”
Gerald frowned. He looked as if he didn’t know what I meant by that.
“Are you sorry?”
“Yeah. I’m just sorry.”
“You’re drunk.”
“I think so.”
He nodded his head.
Actually, I wasn’t drunk, but I wanted to leave it like that for now.
Looking at Gerald, I kept on getting emotional. It was an emotion from the past.
My feelings are shaking uncontrollably.
So I’ll just say I’m drunk. There’s nothing else I can say right now.
Gerald put down his drink. Gerald’s face was getting redder as he drank a similar amount with me.
Gerald fiddled with the glass.
“If you’re sorry… Then, don’t meet the Crown Prince.”
“Prince? Why?”
I thought that he was just staying still. He must have kept it in mind.
Gerald sighed. “You said you were sorry.”
“He seemed like a good person.”
Well, on the surface, I get that feeling.
Gerald turned his head and looked at me. Gerald gritted his teeth and whispered. “No man around you is a good man. At least for me.”
“Gerald…”
“And the Crown Prince. No, he will never be a good one. I don’t like it all.”

“Because you always tell me not to cross the line now. I think I’m drunk…….”
Gerald swept his hair with his hand. His emotions showed that his feelings and the situation were complicated and couldn’t be explained with words. It was difficult for him to do that.

“I don’t want to.” I closed my eyes tight.
Alcohol was like magic. Now Gerald has opened his mouth when he was so used to not saying a word.
Gerald’s lips moved cautiously, really cautiously against my forehead. The tremor felt by his small contact made me cry again.
Gerald, who suffered after my death, would have taken the courage in even this small act.
“Don’t push me away,” Gerald murmured in a brooding voice.

“What?” I jumped out of bed and blinked.

“What did the doctor say? My dad?”
“He just went in to see a doctor. The Duchess is standing by the duke, so you should wash up first. You can go wash up and see the duke.”

Sally comforted me when my eyes went red.
