Chapter 57.2

“Did you find the mechanism?”

Billiers shook his head.

“What kind of blood did you bring? I’ve never seen anything like this before. Hundreds of splits in a second. I dare not catch up.”

Billiers put the bottle down.

Obviously, what he brought to Billiers was a small bottle, but now he was filling the bucket.

“Can you remove the toxicity from that blood? For people to drink.”

“You always make difficult demands. What kind of monster’s blood is that?”

“The key to Nisephor.”

Billiers stared at Gerald with a mysterious gaze. He gave up trying to understand Gerald.

But Gerald felt more and more distant. It felt like he was heading on an unknown path. He didn’t know what the hell had led Gerald down that path.

“Who’s going to drink it? Louella?”

Gerald looked up and looked at Billiers with grim eyes.

“The only thing you’re going to hang on to with Louella is because of this. Aren’t you tagging along with me to cure her illness?”

“Billiers.”

“You know the future, don’t you?” Billiers asked cautiously.

“Is Louella going to die there?” Gerald smirked.

Second. Now there’s only one last chance. He didn’t think he was being sloppy.

“You must be very interested in me.”

“I’m always desperate. What the hell are you hanging on to? There was always Louella at the end of your gaze each time.”

“I’ll do anything to save her.”

It was the answer. After all, everything was related to Louella. It was all for Louella.

Billiers sighed.

“What about you?”

“What does that mean??”

“And your life? Who’s going to help you?”

Gerald laughed as if he was listening to all sorts of nonsense.

“It doesn’t matter, Billiers. My world is Louella. If she dies, I’ll die, too. It’s an absolute thing, nothing more, nothing less.”

He smiled, “Maybe I’m actually doing it for myself.” Gerald confided his innermost thoughts to Billiers. “Don’t you think?”

“Does Louella know?”

“She shouldn’t know. I can’t even say it.”

Louella didn’t need to know this misfortune. Why should Louella know about her unfortunate death?

Why should Louella tremble for fear of having a deadly disease? Gerald didn’t want to hand over any hard work to Louella.

So all this suffering should only be Gerald’s.

“Louella is not a weak woman.”

“I know.”

But Gerald saw that strength crumble into pieces.

‘My baby is dead?’

He saw the smile that had broken in vain.

‘My baby is dead.’

He saw the glare in which the light had been gone. He never wanted to go through that again. Gerald wanted to protect Louella’s world.

“I’ll try to get the poison out of the blood. But it won’t be easy.”

“I know. Just let me know when it’s done. Oh, did you hear that?” Billiers paused as he eyed Gerald.

“The Duke says he’s awake.”

Billiers opened his eyes wide.

“What are the aftereffects?” Gerald asked.

“Nothing at all. He’s physically well. Like a man who has never been ill.”

Billiers smiled brightly. After all, he succeeded.

Although, he got help from his teacher, of course!

“The monkey pool must have worked very well! Teacher Yuniel was right!”

“I know. I’m so glad.”

That eliminated about one of Louella’s misfortunes. Gerald smirked.

Louella, who burst into tears like a child, came to mind. He wanted her to laugh now. He just wanted her to laugh.

By his side if possible.

The bustling mansion fell into silence. It’s time for people to go back to their own homes.

“Are you sure you’re okay?”

“Of course. I’m sorry to have worried you, Mercé.”

Mercé held Arthur’s hand and murmured.

“God helped me. I’m so glad.”

Arthur embraced Mercé’s trembling shoulders.

“Mercé.”

Arthur kissed Mercé on the forehead. He was afraid to close his eyes because he was worried about his wife who would be left alone.

He promised to make her happy.

“Mercé, who came all the way here from Turantot wearing a red veil, will only make you laugh.”

At first, it was a political marriage between two powerful families.

The present king had established diplomatic relations with the kingdoms through a marriage alliance. Mercé was also thrown into a political marriage as the royal daughter of Turantot.

Arthur had picked up Mercé himself. It was only Yuniel and a couple of maids who came with Mercé.

Mercé had left her country with them.
