Chapter 62.2

“……I can find out about Lady Philia.”

“Then do it. I’m a Duke’s daughter. Just a nice, cute, perfect lady who is ready to take over her family business from her mother in the mansion.”

Gerald smirked. “What can a fancy lady like you do? I should do it, don’t you think?” He said pampering me with words but slightly dissing me at the same time.

Truth to be told, it’ll be easier for Gerald to do it. I was confident in puzzles and putting things together, but I wasn’t confident in acting in it myself. It’s better for me to do what I’m good at.

“Ok.”

Gerald nodded. I bumped my glass into Gerald’s. There was a clear sound of the wine glasses.

“Oh, it’s sweet.”

Today’s meeting was successful in its own way. I was able to find out that there was something to Philia’s death, as I had guessed.

The aide, who came to pick up the Crown Prince, was embarrassed and carried him back.

“Crown Prince, how much did you drink?”

“Oh, my. I think I drank the most. Uh, I’m dizzy. The whole world is spinning. Whoa.” I staggered, pretending to hold my head. The aide stared at me before he carried the Crown Prince out of the room.

Gerald smiled.

“But Gerald? How do you really know I’m here?”

“Because of Alexid.”

Of course. I knew it.

“Well, I live with a spy,” I spoke.

Alexid was really eager. Do you have that much confidence in Gerald?

I was thinking of Alexid, when Gerald asked, “Did you hate it when I came?”

I immediately turned my head towards him. At that moment the wind blew. The wind that brushed both of us was as sweet as wine. He swept down her fallen hair.

“I wouldn’t have given you a glass of wine. You would have hated it.”

I stood up and walked with Gerald behind me. “Come on, Gerald. I’m cold.”

His footsteps were getting closer. Gerald’s coat hung over my shoulder. Then he hugged me from the back

“Lulu.”

I didn’t say anything but listened to his voice pronouncing the sound of my name. There were more things I thought I could do but ended up not doing it.

We walked in silence. But it seemed like we had more conversation than ever. It was a strange night.

* * *

I followed my Mom around the dressing room all day.

All I had to do for today was to sign a contract directly with the silk sample I chose. Veronica also joined, but when she left the dressing room, she was exhausted and had no energy to talk.

“What do you want to eat? Since you worked hard, let’s eat something delicious. Veronica?”

“Well, I think it’d be nice if it had seafood in it. I don’t think I can digest greasy food. But I don’t think Lulu can eat anything.”

“Oh, Lulu? Do you want some cake?”

“Carrot cake and chocolate cake. And I’ll add cookies to that.”

“They said you love to eat it.” My mother smiled.

Ah, simple Louella. If it’s sweet, why does it match my tastes so well? It’s all because my Mom won’t let me eat it.

Desserts were strictly limited. According to my mom, I can’t eat rice if I only eat sweets. How old am I already? Of course, I will have to rebel.

‘It’s my house. If you live in our house and don’t listen to me, get out!’

Since then, Alexid and I have given up on rebelling against our mother. Anyway, the food is ready as I’m leaning on the table.

“But I feel like I’m going to live just to eat and eat just to live.”

“Lulu, aren’t you too weak? Why don’t you work out when it gets warmer?”

“I’ll try,” I murmured limply

“And how’s your date going? It seems like you’re dating the Crown Prince these days. What about Gentleman Brenti?

“Oh.”

“Your father is already up. Shouldn’t you finish what you’ve done on your own?”

“I know, mother.”

“Just as we were talking about him, there comes the Brenti.”

I turned my head to where my mother pointed. As she said, Brenti was coming toward us.

“Louella.”

“Brenti.”

Wow. I knew it. He was handsome.

If Gerald has a gentle face, the Crown Prince is sweet, Brenti has a mild flower boy look as well?

They were all beautiful men who were handsome and capable in their own way. If I could make a harem, I could put all three on my fishing grounds.

“Lady Louella. I heard that something bad happened to your family.”

“Thank you for your concern.”

“Can I have dinner that was put off last time to happen now?”

It’s going to be the last dinner, though.

“Yes, of course.”

I wasn’t too sure why but I accepted it. I had no idea what the outcome would be for this.
