Chapter 82

“Eat this, too.”

Declan brought the skewers and cut the meat off.

This was what caused the smell of roasting meat earlier. Seeing the oil trickled out, it looked incredibly appetizing. Although it had the taste of an unfamiliar spice, the juices burst out, and the lightness and rich taste enveloped the tongue.

“It’s delicious.”

Seeing Declan and Yeriel burst into laughter at the same time, I wondered if it was funny to have meat on both cheeks.

“Eat slowly.”

Since then, he had been diligent in slicing the meat and bringing other foods as well.

“Your Majesty, eat some as well.”

“I’m full just looking at what you eat. It’s good to eat well.”

“I didn’t know that I would eat food like this again…”

Indeed, it was deeply moving.

“You can look forward to the future. I’ll prepare something more delicious than this.”

As I nodded my head at his words, Declan’s hands got busier. I also sneaked a piece of meat and gave it to him.

“Your Majesty. Please eat some, too.”

His hand hardened in the air while carrying the food.

“My arm hurts. Come on.”

Eventually, he slowly opened his mouth at my constant urging.

“It’s a new taste.”

“Have you never tried this food before?”

“Yes. The food in the desert is not well known.”

“I am trying it for the first time, too. Today is a special day for both of us, isn’t it?”

Perhaps, he hadn’t thought of that. Declan smiled softly at my words, and his eyes curved.

“Right. It’s a monumental day.”

And so, we finished our first meal in this world, taking care of each other.

* * *

It took a long time to prepare to leave for the Great Temple in the morning.

“I cannot leave the place because I have to protect Perseum.”

As she said so, Yeriel looked disappointed.

“The savior will be escorted by Niki. She will succeed me, so she will do well.”

“Savior, I will give my life to protect you.”

Niki looked calm.

Then, I replied to her to take good care of me, before saying my goodbyes to Yeriel.

“Call me anytime if you need me. I’ll run to you wherever you are.”

“I will, thank you.”

With Yeriel and the remaining Kefienas seeing us off, we headed to the Great Temple.

* * *

There were a total of four Kefienas who followed me, including Niki. Everyone was nervous as it was their first time out of the desert.

After traveling diligently for half a day, a white marble temple began to appear.

The Pope, who had e to meet us at the news that Declan had returned, stopped. It was the same with Cardinal Revran, who was in charge of the secret archives. It was because both of them had seen the doll so they couldn’t help but be surprised to see me, who looked just like it.

Soon, the Pope managed to correct his expression and smiled politely and kindly.

“Have you been well? It seems that your schedule is longer than expected.”

“It was to bring in a precious person.”

Declan said so and gazed at me.

“This is my first time seeing her. Would you mind introducing us?”

The Pope asked, trying not to show his surprise.

“It’s my fiancée.”

“Yes…?”

When I turned my head to look at Delcan, he winked, telling me not to worry.

‘Did he say it to prevent the temple from taking me? Is that so?’

…Anyway, a fiancée.

‘Above all, I haven’t received a proper marriage proposal yet, but suddenly I’m a fiancée…!’

At the situation that happened all of a sudden, I had a headache because I didn’t know where to start and how to point it out.

‘I can’t say that here.’

Meanwhile, the Pope and the cardinals had not thought about it at all, so they looked quite puzzled. In particular, the two people who had seen the doll even looked confused.

‘Our party must have been surprised as well.’

I couldn’t see it, but I could feel the agitation from behind.

“Haha, that’s right. I’m sorry I didn’t notice.”

Still, the Pope, the oldest among them, came to his senses first.

“Nice to meet you. My name is Erica.”

Since I didn’t know anything about etiquette, I just bowed my head and greeted him politely.

“It is an honor to meet His Majesty’s fiancée.”

He smiled softly as if he didn’t mind me saying only my name.

“The reason I brought Erica here is because I have something to tell you.”

At that, the Pope and the cardinals were puzzled by Declan’s words.

“I know that Rohim has given you a revelation.”

“How could that…”

When I mentioned the revelation, the Pope was astonished and lost his words. Since it hadn’t been announced by the Great Temple yet, no one knew except the priests. Needless to say, if an outsider mentioned it, it would make them wonder.

“The savior has e into the world, the dark ages will end, and the gates of heaven will be opened. Be loyal to my representative.”

When I spoke of the revelation without making a mistake, the cardinals’ faces, including the Pope’s, were colored with astonishment.

“I am the savior.”

They only had astonishment on their faces.

I raised my right hand without saying a word. After a while, a white light came and a divine pattern appeared on the back of my hand.

“Oh, my God…”

The moment he saw this, the pope fell down onto the floor. The reaction of the cardinals was no different. Some fell down like the Pope, while others fell to their knees in prayer or weeping.

“The divine power is back…”

Staggered, the Pope couldn’t continue his words. I was a little surprised by the more intense reaction than the Kefianas.

“Listen, all priests on the continent.”

When I uttered the words, everyone looked at me in surprise.

“May this word echo in the heads of all the priests on the continent like a revelation from God… Rohim has made me, Erica, the representative and savior of this land.”

Shouts poured from all over the place.

“The channel of blessing has been opened through me, and now, the divine power will e down on you as well.”

Raising my hand, a white light streamed out and fell on the Pope’s head. Soon, the light spread more and more and fell on the heads of the priests before it spread like a wave that eventually filled the Great Temple.

The light was so intense that everyone around covered their eyes though it was so beautiful to see the twinkling lights passing by. The priests who encountered the divine power for the first time in their lives were ecstatic.

I lowered my hand and glanced at Declan, who was standing next to me. Feeling the divine power, he reached out into the air and touched the air.

“When I was a soul, I felt like this when I touched you… A warm and cozy feeling.”

Declan looked back at me and smiled softly.

After smiling back at him, I told the priests what Rohim had asked for.

“Go out of the temple. Take care of the weak with divine power and heal them. Save the souls of this earth.”

I roared with a manding voice.

“Those who use divine power for self-interest or who do not fulfill their mission will be punished immediately in the name of God.”

I caught my breath for a moment and then cried again.

“Rohim has delegated all these powers to me.”

As soon as I finished my words, the earth shook, and all the priests looked at me in awe.

“God, I will obey your will.”

I quietly looked down at the priests after delivering everything Rohim had asked. As I experienced the mighty divine power, my hands trembled without realizing it. Once again, the position of God’s representative felt grave…

All of a sudden, I was startled by the warmth of my hand, and I held it tighter.

It was Declan.

When I lifted my head, I could see him staring at me worriedly.

‘…Yes. It’s okay if I am with this person.’

As I thought so, I clasped my hands together before smiling at him. Meanwhile, the Pope rose from his seat, and the other priests followed.

“Savior, all the priests of the temple will watch over you and follow you.”

As he bowed, all the other priests followed him and bowed to me as well.

I bowed to them and greeted them.

“I have a lot to talk about with the His Eminence, so why don’t we move?”

There were many things to share about my place of residence, my status, and what I would do in the future.

“I have held a precious person here. Please, e over to my office.”

The Pope took the lead with an apologetic face.

* * *

Heading into the office with Declan, I sat down on the sofa while the priests put tea and cookies on the table and left.

“I don’t know if it will suit the Savior’s taste.”

I picked up the teacup and glanced at the tea.

It was my first tea in this world. As I carefully tilted the teacup and took a sip, the light and subtle aroma of tea lingered.

“…I lost my chance at tea.”

A muffled voice was heard next to me, and laughter came out.

“I will give Your Majesty a chance at dessert. I like whipped cream cake.”
