Chapter 47

Chapter 47

Philip said quickly as he watched Cassian, who had returned home, inspect the first floor.

“Madam is in the bedroom.”

Cassian nodded his head and saw Ryan waiting behind Philip.

The two went to the study together without saying a word. Even so, he had just heard the news that Lady Blanche had visited today.

As he entered the study and opened his mouth, looking at Ryan, who didn’t say anything.

“Did anything happen?”

“May or may not.”

‘What does that mean?’

Cassian raised his eyebrows. He sat down on the chair and motioned for Ryan to sit as well. He then unbuttoned his button and filled the glass of water on the table.

“Duke, are you serious about Lady Elysia?”

“Hmm. I don’t know why the question suddenly comes up.”

“Lady Blanche said that she harmed Lady Elysia for wanting to have the Duke.”

Cassian raised the corners of his mouth and ruffled his hair.

“Did Lady Blanche say that?”

“Yes.”

“In front of Elysia… she said that?”

Crash. The glass that Cassian was holding broke.

The Marquis of Blanche wouldn’t be that stupid, though he doesn’t know why he let those words come out of his daughter’s mouth.

Cassian’s eyes darkened.

“Is there something the Sir wants to say? Do you want to say it’s because of me?”

“No. That woman… she must have done it to Lady Elysia. If it wasn’t for the Duke, she wouldn’t have used such poison…”

Because of Ryan’s words, he couldn’t find anything to refute.

Ryan was observing Lumiere quite a bit, and the words that followed made quite a bit of sense.

“I just want to know if you’re sincere to Lady Elysia. I don’t know if I can trust the Duke.”

“I’m serious. I don’t know about Elysia. I thought you would know, but I was mistaken.”

Ryan glanced at Cassian’s bitter smile and looked surprised for a moment. “I know. I just checked for myself.”

“Then, the thing is over?”

“It’s not very resourceful. I think it’s better to just get rid of possible risks.”

“It sounds like you’re trying to kill Lady Blanche.”

Although Cassian spat it out like a joke, when looked at Ryan’s face, he realized that he was sincere.

It was amazing. Where the hell did Elysia find such a knight?

But, he wasn’t exactly wrong since it was actually the surest way.

“Are you confident that you won’t be caught by Elysia?”

“That’s…”

He knew. Cassian turned towards Ryan and clicked his tongue. There was no way Elysia would like that method. Why doesn’t she just want to get rid of Lumiere?

“For a while, we just need to keep an eye on Lady Blanche. The Crown Prince’s side is settled.”

“I will move on my own, so please escort Lady Elysia.”

“I’ll do it without you telling me.”

Cassian let out a long breath, thinking that meeting Ryan would just make him more childish. He got up and rummaged through the drawers.

“If you have something urgent to report while monitoring, call the butler or Lloyd. I’ll come right away.”

“Yes.”

He took out the silver family card and handed it to Ryan.

“Thank you, but I already have it.”

“Ah, what? Still, take it. Use both because they’re different places for it to be used.”

“Yes. Then, I’ll be on the way.”

At that, Ryan took the car and left the study.

How did it come to be like this? It was surprising that he felt this way just because another man was doing this for her.

When he thought of Elysia, he wanted to see her quickly.

Thinking that, Cassian stopped as he tried to grab the door handle.

The glass shattered and cut his palm.

He thought that he had to wrap a bandage roughly, but he stopped. Somehow it seemed that thanks to this cut, Elysia would show interest in him…

She would want to suck blood.

As he strode down the hall, he let out a laugh.

Elysia was waiting for Cassian in the bedroom.

She was told that he had come home, but he did not come into the bedroom after a long time. As it has been a while, she wanted to go look for him, so she got up.

Turning her head, she saw a bottle of pale green magic on the table. It was proof that the culprit in the monster subjugation case was Lumiere.

She guessed she should have told him ahead of time before putting it on trial.

“…It’s like this again.”

Elysia rubbed her chest with her hands. Ever since she met Lumiere, when she thinks of Cassian, her heart keeps pounding.

At that moment, she felt a presence in front of the bedroom door, and Cassian appeared.

Elysia, who was leaning against the head of the bed and looked at him, frowned and got her body up. With quick steps, she came to Cassian and lowered her gaze to his injured hand.

“What is this?”

“Because I can’t control my power.”

As she observed his injured hand, Cassian raised his opposite hand and ran through her hair.

“I heard that you met Lady Blanche today.”

“Yes.”

Elysia nodded her head innocently.

Cassian’s wounds have been left unattended, and even ointment has not been applied.

“Sorry.”

“What?”

“Just… the incident in the subjugation. I think it was because of me.” She spoke as she fixed her gaze on his wound and bit her mouth tightly.

“Why is it your fault?”

A reply didn’t come out of her mouth.

Elysia stifled the unknown emotions that bubbled, and she came up with a different answer.

“Do you want me to call the doctor?”

“No.”

“Then, why don’t you take any treatment and leave it like this?”

There was no response from Cassian.

Elysia lifted her head away from his wounds and lifted her head.

“Aren’t you going to treat me?”

“I will. Later.”

She then stared at his face and smiled.

Cassian thought she was going to try to suck the blood because she couldn’t fight the smell of blood, so that’s why he came without treatment.

“Are you afraid that you will bite me, even if it hurts me?”

It would be a lie to say she was okay with the smell of blood, but that was an instinctive part, so she had no choice. But, she wasn’t the kind of beast that would run forth against an injured person.

Elysia raised the corners of her lips with a cold expression.

“Did you just leave it that way? You’d expect me to notice?”

“Umm… that’s true. I didn’t expect it to be this bad.”

“At least, I know how you see me.”

Saying so, she twisted her body and moved to the bed. Even if she thought she was being sensitive, she got angry.

Cassian hugged Elysia from behind.

“It’s just… I know you’re having a hard time when you smell blood. These wounds are not a big deal.”

It doesn’t matter if she hurts him.

Cassian said that he had never given any meaning to it or thought deeply about it, as if as an excuse.

“I didn’t even think that you would control it whether I was hurt or not.”

Elysia felt her heart pounding again. Her face seemed to heat up at the sound of him whispering sweetly in her ear.

Why are you saying that…? If he just said a few jokes and passed by, she wouldn’t care too much.

“I didn’t really mean anything. I apologize. I’m sorry.”

It was the second time he said he was sorry.

‘What was he so sorry for?’

Actually, it’s not enough for both of them to say sorry.

Elysia held her breath as the suppressed emotions surfaced again. She didn’t want to dig into what this feeling was. There seemed to be a warning beeping in her head that it was getting dangerous.

And so, she lifted Cassian’s hand and turned to face him.

The purple eyes wanted to meet her gaze, then it turned to her lips. With anxious eyes, as if waiting for something to come out. As if he was afraid of the next word.

It’s ridiculous to even call it a petty fight.

…Since when has he been looking at her with those eyes?

It felt so clear, but it wasn’t just the eyes that wanted her for physical pleasure. When did the lustful eyes that coveted each other moment by moment begin to harbor emotions?

“Elysia.”

Cassian looked at Elysia’s face and noticed that something was wrong with her.

He hugged her gently and laid her down onto the bed. Meanwhile, she didn’t wrap her arms around his neck, though she didn’t push him away either.

“Elysia… Sia—”

Cassian kept calling her name.

Hearing it, Elysia bit her lower lip at the name ‘Sia’ that came out of his mouth.

Why is her heart beating like this…?

He must have called her Sia because he knew that name was her nickname. However, her heart pounded as if it was her original name that had been called before being transmigrated.

Elysia saw Cassian sitting on the floor, kneeling on one of his knees.

“Since when…”

Elysia’s red eyes revealed a confused mind.

This was the reason why she was anxious when she asked Lumiere to take him away. Because Lumiere is the female lead of this world, she was really afraid Cassian would give her his heart.

There can be no such thing as mere possessiveness.

The emotions she felt during the subjugation were all the same as they are now. She likes this man, she wants to have him. After she confirmed that his heart was the same as her own, she hated herself for being relieved.

She’s not going to give it back.

“Aren’t you going to wash up?”

“Tell me why.”

“I guess I was just a little sensitive. I’m not offended, so don’t worry about it.”

Cassian gazed at Elysia with an expressionless face.

She felt her heart pound again in that face.

Whether it’s a pouty laugh or a smile with one corner of the mouth raised, it seems like it’s because she’s only seen his smiling faces lately.

“Take a rest. I’ll go wash up.”

“All right.”

Elysia hugged her knees.

Just a good person to spend three years with. He is someone she can trust, at least for that period.

It just had to get there.

Because it wasn’t a relationship that should have happened anyway.

Still, she has already realized that she can’t keep her cool. It was the first time she had such a big feeling.

She had been dating before the transmigration, but it was just a crush. Even with that much feeling, she was able to have a passionate love affair.

She met so many good people here.

Elysia had been alone since she was born, though there are so many people around her who care about her.

“…Why me—”

She was a vampire. If she possessed a human body, wouldn’t she remain human until the end? Elysia was already terrified of thinking like this.

How far will this feeling go? How long will it last?

She didn’t want to get hurt, so she just wanted to throw everything away and run away.

Der, who was on the sofa, seemed to notice its master’s feelings, so it jumped up and tapped Elysia. It seemed to be patting her with its’ tiny front paws.

“Der… you’ll be leaving first, too.”

Elysia smiled bitterly and stroked Der.

The things she had been thoroughly indoctrinated from her childhood seemed to be of no avail.

Don’t give your heart to humans.

Even before her transmigration, she had seen and known a lot, what happens when a vampire falls in love with a human…
