[Gift Revenger]

The story happened before the start of Golden Week.

Wearing glasses that give him an impression of an intelligent man, Takiguchi Masaya is a teacher at the 5th Gift Academy where many Gift Holders gather.

Although he has the appearance of a mild-mannered unassuming young man, he’s playing the role of an ideal teacher by approaching his students with a kind and gentle attitude which consequently gives him high popularity among the students.

However, behind that facade of the ideal teacher was a demon-like man who was behind the Gift Hunter organization.

Exact revenge on all Gifts.

That was the only purpose in his life.

“All Gift Holders are trash. Their existence alone is already repulsive. I will devour them all.”

Said Takiguchi.

As though fully agreeing with him, a male student nodded.

“I can not allow those who abuse Gifts to continue as well. Just thinking about those scum already made my blood boil.”

.

The male student, Seki Shou, followed.

Satisfied at the student’s answer, Takiguchi smiles.

“The Gift Hunters are still lacking in number. It’s a shame that such a promising girl left us.”

“Shouldn’t we do something about Uematsu’s betrayal, Sensei?”

“I would not go as far as to call it a betrayal. In the first place, she only said that she was going to become a freelance Gift Hunter. In that sense, she technically didn’t betray anyone yet. Besides, if she realizes again how loathsome Gifts are, she will come back to us. Uematsu Yurika’s hatred toward Gifts is the real deal. All we have to do is to gather like-minded people for our course and wait for her return.”

Said Takiguchi while adjusting the position of his glasses.

“But…….” Seki protested in a dissatisfied tone.

“If she leaks information about us then……….”

“Given how honest she is, I doubt she would do that. She still owes me a favor. I don’t think she’s the kind of girl who would return kindness with malice. She’s originally a gentle child so leave her alone okay? I have a soft spot for a clumsy girl like her.”

“I get it. If that’s what Sensei wants then I will leave Uematsu alone.”

“More importantly…….this is the girl right?”

Asked Takiguchi as he read the documents on the student who’s the quarry of his next hunt.

The documents contain information on a second-year female student.

“Gift Holder scum must be erased.”

It was Takiguchi who suggested the suspension of Tanuma, the boy who organized HALF DEAD GAME, instead of handing him over to the Bureau.

It’s a matter of course. After all, if he’s in the Bureau’s custody, his hunters won’t be able to purge him.

Even so, although it was only last week that Takiguchi killed Tanuma, another evil Gift Holder had already replaced him.

And today, he called his quarry to an unpopulated area inside the school grounds.

“Shouji, you seem to be doing well in your studies lately huh.”

“Yes, thank you very much! I’m happy that Takiguchi-sensei recognizes my efforts!”

Her brazen attitude fueled their fiery anger.

Both Takiguchi and Seki have recognized her as someone that must be purged.

“Uhh, actually, it was me who asked Sensei to call you here, Shouji. I have something I want to tell you.”

“Eh!?”

“I’m Seki Shou.”

Seki showed her a sweet smile and greeted her with a princely whisper. Seeing that, Shouji’s face turned red.

“U, Uhh…..n, nice to meet you, Seki-kun.”

“Yeah, so you see, ……I have to ask you to die here.”

“…….eh?”

Letting the anger consume him, Seki pounced on Shouji.

.

Now, the woman in front of him is nothing but an enemy to be hunted down.

A scum that abused their Gift.

What Seki is doing is simply an act of justice.

“Guh….., you little!? DIEeeeee!”

Shouji created a flame on her palm and tried to grab Seki but he reflexively avoided her.

Of course, he had already conducted thorough research about her Gift beforehand.

Using the testimony from the victims and eyewitnesses, it was quite easy for him to come up with measures against his opponent.

“A Gift that generates flames inside the user’s palm huh? A stab wound should do nicely.”

An ice blade generated by Seki’s Gift pierced the back of Shouji’s hand.

The sudden sensation of pain caused her to undo her Gift.

“GAHHHH!?”

“C’mon, C’mon, if you don’t dodge then your body might turn into a beehive first you know.”

She was stabbed three more times. The right side of her chest, her left leg, and the side of her throat.

Unable to stand, she collapsed to her knees.

“Guagh…..!? H, Help me…..Sens–…..”

.

With her hoarse voice, she begged her teacher, Takiguchi, for help.

Her unsightly appearance overlapped with the woman who was the cause of his hatred for Gifts so Takiguchi tramples her arm in disgust.

“Gah!?”

“My mission is to purge pests like you and devour all the hatred of this world. So get your hand away from me, YOU DISGUSTING INSECT!”

He also followed that up with a kick to her head.

“Seki, burn it.”

“Roge~r”

.

Seki activated his Gift and created a ball of flames in his right palm.

Seeing what was happening, Shouji’s eyes were filled with fear.

“How!? A second Gift……? And that Gift, it’s my–……”

“Time to have a taste of your own medicine.”

“GYAHHHHH!? AAHHHHHHH!? IT BURN, IT BURNNN!?”

A horrible scream reached the two’s ears.

Takiguchi simply gazes at the woman writhing in agony with disgust.

Shortly later, the girl stopped moving and became a lump of meat covered in soot.

“Alright, Hunt complete. She’s still breathing but she shouldn’t be able to put up any resistance now.”

“Good work, Seki. I will handle the rest. It will become a missing person case this time.”

Police officers, Bureau agents, politicians, media, yakuza.

The [Gift Revenger] can cover any amount of murder using the Hunters he has in those organizations.

He has already buried more than a dozen such evil Gift Holders using his connections.

“Fufu. There’s a promising hunter named Satsuki Akane who’s scheduled to enroll next year. When the time comes, I will leave her in your care, Seki.”

“Roge~r”

Having learned from his experience with Uematsu Yurika, Takiguchi decided not to use half-measures like a freelance Gift Hunter anymore.

And he had already found a girl with the talents for Gift Hunting.

“Well, it’s Golden Week starting tomorrow. Enjoy the holidays.”

Takiguchi grabs a sickle and walks over to the body of the female student.

Knowing what Takiguchi was about to do, Seki turned his face away and headed home.

With a mocking sneer, Ennoia watches Seki Shou, who she gave the [Copy any Gift in sight] to, as he leaves from a distance away……

Author Note: [Gift Revenger] is not an ability name but a nickname given to the leader of the Gift Hunters.

It might seem that he showed up out of nowhere but he did appear once before in the story.

V6C31, Takiguchi was the teacher responsible for leaking the fact that Seiko is Hideyori’s younger sister and the ability of her Gift throughout the nation.

“I’m fed up with Akechi too you see. Shame for you, having such a scum for a brother. Well, Akechi did a lot after all, enjoy being a punching bag for the rest of your life.”

That was what Takiguchi said to Seiko, the murder of Uematsu Yurika at the hands of Akechi Hideyori has earned his grudge.

A Good but clumsy girl.

He feels that it’s a shame to waste her talent so he wants Yurika to rejoin the organization.

Has a crush on her.

Want to make her his girlfriend.

The fact that he doesn’t have to go after Yurika came as a relief for him.

He still has a complicated feeling about her betrayal……
