” I...I gifted you that dress?” Chang Ah was dumbfounded when Yang Ning told her that the dress she wore to the Banquet was none other than the one she had gifted her on her birthday.
Chang Ah gulped her saliva nervously and consciously glanced at her husband, whose silence was speaking more than his words.

Yang Ning noticed her clueless expressions and sighed exasperatedly. Why are they so stupid? She wondered.
” Seems like you still cannot recognize these gemstones. Let me help you recall it.” She said as she snatched the sachet of gemstones from Chang Ah’s hand and poured its contents on her palm.
” Can you see the tiny cloth pieces attached to these gemstones? It belongs to the dress that you have prepared for me to wear to the Banquet.”
” Yes. These are not the gemstones that you have gifted the Head Maid in the past.”
” These are the gemstones that have been torn off from the dress that you have prepared for me and asked me to wear to the Banquet.” Yang Ning said while showing off the gemstones on her hand, urging Chang Ah to open her eyes wide and look at them clearly.
“WHAT? THE GEMSTONES FROM THE DRESS?” Yang Luoyang was speechless at Yang Ning’s words. He had never expected that the gemstones could be the ones on the dress.
Yang Ning nodded seriously and said, ” Yes, Father. Didn’t you ask me the reason why I did not wear the dress that mother had prepared for me to the Banquet? It was because of this reason.”
” The Head Maid has torn off the gemstones from the dress and gave me the defective, torn dress to wear to the Banquet. Not only that but she did not even try to hide her crime. Because she was so confident that I will never go against her and complain to you about how she ruined the dress.” Yang Ning held her head low and said in a raspy, choking voice.
“WHAT? SHE DID THAT?” Yang Luoyang was dumbfounded when he heard such things from Yang Ning and slammed hard on the table in fury.
No matter how much he wanted to teach a lesson to Yang Ning, he would never tolerate the obstreperous behavior of a servant in the household. If he lets this behavior be ignored now, then they will become unruly and hard to control.
He gritted his teeth and glared at Xing Bao, who was now shivering in the corner of the study room.
” My....My Lord. Please trust me. I did not steal these gemstones. I did not know anything about it.” The senior maid once again fell on her knees and pleaded to Yang Luoyang but he did not even spare her a glance.
“WHAT NONSENSE ARE YOU SPEAKING? WHY ARE YOU FRAMING ME? WHEN DID I GIVE YOU THE DEFECTIVE DRESS?” Xing Bao gritted her teeth and turned to Yang Ning and screamed at her when she failed to get the attention of Yang Luoyang.
” If you did not steal it, then are you saying I tore these gemstones from the dress and put them in your room? Why would I do that? Wasn’t this dress arranged so that I could wear it to the Banquet? Why would I ruin my dress?” Yang Ning scoffed as she glared at the Head Maid, who was kneeling on the ground and her face was covered in wet tears.
” I am the future Crown Princess, how dare you accuse me of something so outrageous!” Yang Ning exclaimed while showing off her authority while repeating the words that Chang Ah was saying to her since the start of the argument.
” YES!! YOU ARE LYING. YOU ARE JUST A LOWLY BITCH WHO HAS NO POSITION IN HER OWN HOUSEHOLD. HOW DARE A CHEAP BITCH AS YOU FRAME ME? HUH?” Xing Bao, who was at the edge of losing her mind, her last thread of patience came off when she heard Yang Ning’s provocative words.
Yang Ning was surprised by Xing Bao’s outburst but she was internally celebrating when she clamored at her in front of everyone.

” I never complained about you to my father when you looked down on me every time. I didn’t even say anything when you asked Xiaowei to pour a bucket of cold water on me when I was dying due to the high fever and was suffering in pain.”
” However, this time you crossed the limits. Your actions almost caused huge harm to Father. If I had failed to come up with an excuse to explain why I wore a simple dress to the Banquet, what would His Majesty would have thought of me? In the worst case, he would have called off the engagement.” Yang Ning emphasized by indirectly showing Yang Luoyang that it was her who used her brain and saved the situation.
If she had not done that, then the Emperor might have broken off the alliance between the two families.
