CH 82

[Hated Hero’s Gift]

After having breakfast, I waited in my room.

It was sunny today.

A perfect day to go on an outing.

Before going to meet up with Jarvis in the afternoon to explore the dungeon, Tayte and I would be spending our time leisurely in the garden—the weather was just right for that.

Tayte was currently getting changed.

Eureka was helping her, but because she was still not very good at it—a given considering she was still new to the job—my three maids had gone to assist her after asking for my permission… but did all of them really have to go?

Well, while they served different families, they were still in the same line of work, so the three must feel the need to look out for their cute junior.

A little while ago, they’d also said that they viewed Tayte as their own sister. Surely, they just couldn’t help themselves from wanting to spoil them.

So, I patiently waited until Tayte was ready while drinking coffee in my room.

After a while, Priim returned.

“Young Master, Lady Tayte will be ready soon-meow.”

“I see. Thanks for the hard work, Priim.”

“No, it is only my duty-meow~.”

Priim sure was energetic as ever.

The cat ears on her head were swaying lively from side to side; clearly, she was in a great mood.

“But we’re just going to look around the garden; don’t you think you guys make too big of a deal out of it?”

“Young Master… this is only normal for girls-meow.”

Muh.

Was that so?

…But simply waiting made me somewhat restless.

As I was fidgeting, Priim suddenly shouted, “Ah!” When I looked over, I found her looking out the window toward the garden. Wondering what was up, I tried to get closer, but…

“Y-Young Master! Please head to the garden right away-meow!”

Noticing me approaching, Priim used her whole body to cover the window—but being smaller in stature compared to Marina and Rebecca, her effort proved futile. I could peek over her if I felt like it, but it seemed that this involved Tayte.

“Alright. Shall we head to the garden then?”

“! Let’s go!”

Priim’s excitement instantly maxed out.

It was evident from the increased momentum of her ears and tail wagging.

When I arrived at the garden while being pushed from the back by Priim, I found Marina, Rebecca, and Eureka already waiting there.

And they were standing to surround someone, who was—

“Tayte…”

My breath was taken away.

Who was this, a fairy?

Or an angel, perhaps?

Oh, it was Tayte.

Her outfit today wasn’t the white one-piece she had worn yesterday, but a more casual one. Perhaps she’d chosen it in consideration of our dungeon exploration in the afternoon, but…

“I knew it… you look amazing no matter what you wear, Tayte!”

“I think so too!” Eureka agreed with me.

Of course, my three maids also clapped and cheered on Tayte.

The destructive power of yesterday’s dress was amazing, but her current dress was no less wonderful. If anything, I personally prefer the current one. Simple yet not too plain. I thought it suited Tayte more than a gorgeous dress, it was more Tayte-like.

Since yesterday’s setting was a party, Lady Lilia had chosen for her a dress that was more flashy than usual, but day-to-day this type of dress was by far the best for Tayte.

When I told her that, Tayte shyly, yet powerfully replied, “Thank you, I will keep your advice in mind.” Behind her, Eureka was desperately taking notes. She was completely into her work as a maid, huh.

Once Tayte calmed down, we began our garden date.

――But almost immediately Tayte noticed something.

“Huh? These flowers are…” Tayte turned her face towards me.

I silently nodded.

“…They are all my favorite flowers.”

Yes.

I’d actually secretly prepared them for this day.

I’d had Marina and the others look into her favorite kinds of flowers, and then ordered the maids taking care of the villa to prepare them.

If I had the time, I would have done it myself… but well, I’d do that another time.

“Do you like it?”

“It’s amazing! Really…”

Moved, Tayte covered her mouth with both of her hands, and tears appeared at the corners of her eyes.

I was really glad that it made her happy, but… I didn’t expect her would be so happy that she cried.

I took Tayte’s hand, then we started walking.

Spending time with the gentle and kind Tayte without being disturbed by anyone.

That was all I wanted to do at this moment.
