[Deadly Fight! Final Exam!]

The exam had finally begun.

Andrei had returned to the classroom ten minutes before the exam started.

He didn’t get to cram, but I should be able to expect better results now that he had regained his composure.

His grades weren’t that bad, to begin with… even if his scores dropped a little, it would be fine as long as they didn’t drop low enough that he had to take supplementary lessons.

“Do your best… Andrei.”

Right after I muttered, Mr. Walter announced, “Begin!”

The day that would decide Andrei’s fate had begun.

There were five subjects in the exam.

All would be carried out in one day.

They were:

Magic Potions.

Modern Magic Law.

Magic Characters.

History of World Magic.

Tactical Plan.

That was all.

History of World Magic was the subject Andrei worst at.

Once he got through it, he should have no problem with the rest.

Only the sounds of writing echoed in the classroom.

While everyone was concentrating on the exam, I carefully looked at Andrei so I didn’t get suspected of cheating.

“…………”

Andrei was half dazed.

His eyes were swimming, his mouth ajar.

It seemed he wasn’t really focused on the exam—right then…

“–!”

Andrei came to his senses with a gasp, turned his gaze to the exam paper, and began to write away. He seemed to be doing okay… but, had he been thinking about Jarvis? Seeing his reaction, he must have been thinking “What if I get rejected?” or something along the lines.

…I wished I could shout “Focus on the exam, Andrei!”

However, at the moment, all I could do was cheer him mentally.

He had to get through this to tell Jarvis his feelings.

–Oh yeah, I’d better start to focus on the exam too.

It wouldn’t be funny if I failed and had to take supplementary lessons. I wouldn’t be able to help Andrei, then.

I didn’t have to worry about Tayte, Jarvis, Raul, and Eureka; I bet they’d do just fine. So would the other friends we had invited to the party.

“…Okay.”

I psyched myself up quietly so that others didn’t hear me.

I can do this!

◇◇◇

The last exam was finally over.

Immediately after, my classmates all shouted, “It’s over!”

Although the results hadn’t come out yet, they seemed like they had gotten a weight lifted off their shoulders. Then again, they were mostly smart, so I doubted any of them would have to take supplementary lessons, to begin with.

“It’s over, Barrett.”

“Yeah. Good work, Tayte.”

“You too, good work, Barrett♪.”

Tayte and I chatted after the fierce battle.

As we did, Raul and Eureka came over.

“How did you do, Lord Barrett?”

“Let’s just say I tried my best… I’ll let the heavens decide my final result. How about you, Raul?”

“Same, I did my best!”

“How about you, Eureka?”

“I did fine… except for the Tactical Plans…”

We talked loudly.

And as for Andrei…

“It’s over, Barrett…”

Andrei said so in a strangely quiet tone.

By “It’s over”, did he mean the test or himself… I was afraid to ask.

Moreover, right then…

“My, it’s quite lively here.”

Jarvis had also come over.

“How did you do, Andrei? You don’t look very well…”

“! O-oh! I did great, it was easy-peasy!”

“That’s good♪.”

The visibly flustered Andrei and the casual as usual Jarvis.

…This… might be more problematic than the exam…
