[A Surprising Proposal]

After getting back home, the first thing I did was talk about my school life with my parents.

Besides my grades, I also talked about the martial arts tournament during the academy festival, which they were especially interested in.

My fierce battle with Jarvis seemed to have left a particularly strong impression on them. My father even enthusiastically made gestures with his hands, talking about the battle situation.

The next thing my parents asked about was…

“Are things going well with the young lady of the Ehrenberg House?”

Needless to say, about my relationship with Tayte.

But I didn’t need to go into details about it.

Because I was sure they had been watching our interactions during the school festival. Marina, Priim, and Rebecca were going to report it to them, anyway; so passionately that they made gestures as my father did earlier.

So, I simply said that we were smoothly getting to know each other better and deepening our bond.

But then my father surprisingly said, “Well, in that case, you wouldn’t mind holding your wedding right after you graduate as originally planned, right?”

“Sure. —Huuuuuuuuuh?!”

S-say what?!

W-wasn’t that too early?!

I turned my gaze to my mother, hoping she would talk some sense into my father, but…

“That’s splendid! We also got married right after we graduated!”

She completely supported it.

Or rather, you two got married immediately after you graduated?

…Maybe it was normal for people to get married young in this world. Especially when it came to nobles since there might be problems with succession, sooner might be preferred rather than later.

After talking to my parents, I retired to my bedroom.

I lay down on my bed and stared at the ceiling.

The word ‘marriage’ was circling over my head.

Surely, Tayte’s parents would discuss it with her as well.

“I wonder… what will Tayte think about it?”

Suddenly, those words escaped my mouth.

Well, since we were engaged, we were definitely going to get married one day… but it was too sudden, and I was taken aback.

At that time, a question popped up in my head.

–Was this the same flow in the original storyline?

Barrett and Tayte.

In the original storyline, during their school days, they were estranged from each other even though they were engaged, and Tayte ended up deepening her bond with Raul, instead. In the end, that would be the trigger that pushed Barrett to the bottom of the abyss, but… in this world, such a situation was unlikely.

Tayte and I had a good relationship, and Raul and Eureka were on good terms, as well.

…This might be how everything should be. I couldn’t help but start thinking that way.

Barrett was the cause of everything going wrong in the original storyline.

Had he been a decent human being, he would have gone along well with Tayte. Just like we did now.

–It was just that, once Tayte and I got married, this world would finally deviate completely from the original rails.

I bet Tayte wouldn’t join the hero party, and the others would be affected to some extent as well.

…Well, it wouldn’t be in a bad way at least, and I wanted to marry Tayte, too.

So… at the party that would be held two days later, I would like to improve my relationship with Tayte even just a little—no, I had to.

Embracing that strong will in my heart, I began to change into sleepwear.
