Volume 4 - CH 10

“Revan and the others were attacked by Kagerou. All of the members of his caravan were killed, and Revan has gone missing.”

“Whaat!?”

Tengai’s eyes were wide open. Oh? I wasn’t expecting you to care about Revan that much…

“So does that mean that doll was lost too? What a waste…”

…Oh, you don’t. Okay.

For some reason, Mikoto was staring coldly at Tengai, who was reaching for his forehead with a notorious expression of tremendous grief on his face.

“So, to return to the main topic… What do you intend to do now, Princess?”

I was about to quickly decide that we should send out a rescue party, but Mikoto’s question cooled my head down.

If we were to haphazardly dispatch an army of armed monsters towards the capital of a foreign country, it could be seen as a terrorist attack.

It’s not that I was afraid of another military conflict, but if that’s all we were going to do, we might not be able to find Revan, and it’s going to end up being completely pointless if he ends up dead. And then our guys might end up losing it, prioritizing their own safety and destroy the city, attacking people left and right… and that if we’re not careful, that might very well be the last nail on Revan’s coffin. No, we can’t lose sight of our purpose.

I can’t use those guys! Outside of large-scale destruction, they are as useless as a self-help book!

I should have given Revan my ‘Evil Eye’ so he could use it. But it would be useless if he was unconscious, and if he were to use it too carelessly, it would get exposed to Asmina… Ah!

“That’s it! Asmina is a shrine maiden, so maybe she has some way to perceive where Revan is, something like clairvoyance perhaps?”

Anyhow, we couldn’t afford to waste another minute.

“Shall we head out?”

I nodded at Mikoto in response to his enthusiastic tone of voice.

“I’ll try heading to Asmina’s place through Willide. We must make haste. Make sure to prepare a flying escort.”

“Understood.”
