Chapter 168 Unbelievable Giant Squid



Luo Maoyuan sat nervously in the boardroom, beads of sweat forming on his forehead as he listened to the demands of Liu Yong, the CEO of Universal Shipping. 

The price tag for their mistake was steep - three of their ships had been lost at sea, and the compensation demanded by Universal Shipping exceeded 1 billion yuan.

Luo Maoyuan didn't dare to protest, knowing it would only worsen things. 

"Yes, yes, then let's just say it, 1 billion funds plus these three ships," he quickly agreed, hoping to end the ordeal as soon as possible.

Liu Yong smiled smugly, satisfied with the outcome. "Well, let's just say that."

Luo Maoyuan couldn't help but voice his concern. 

"Then, that, we won't have any more shipwreck incidents in the future."

Liu Yong dismissed the idea, refusing to take responsibility for the past accidents. "Whether the ship will sink or not in the future, I don't think it will happen. After all, ship sinking is a small probability event."

Relieved that the negotiation was over, Luo Maoyuan wiped the sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief and quickly left the room with his team.

Meanwhile, Universal Shipping's team was ecstatic about their vast compensation. 

"Brother Yong, this is like a dream," one exclaimed.

Another chimed, "My God, 1 billion in compensation and three large tankers. Get rich, get rich!"

Liu Yong smiled and said, "Let's celebrate tonight. Mr. Qiu, you can arrange this matter, and all managers above the company's level will participate."

Excited at the prospect of a grand celebration, Qiu Yang eagerly agreed. "Okay, okay!"

That night, Universal held a lavish banquet to commemorate their victory. News of Risheng Group's enormous payout spread quickly, and many were in awe of their success.



In domestic ocean shipping, word had spread about the exploits of Liu Yong and his company, Universal. People began to notice their activities and wondered what they were up to. Meanwhile, a massive creature, Bawang or Overlord, was on the hunt out in the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean.

After filling his belly with a satisfying marine fish meal, Bawang decided it was time for a nap. But instead of finding a cozy spot to rest, he descended deeper into the ocean's depths. The pressure grew more intense with every passing moment, but Bawang was determined to explore this uncharted territory.

Finally, he reached a depth of 3,000 meters, where the only light came from bioluminescent creatures scattered throughout the darkness. Bawang rarely ventured this deep, and the otherworldly beauty of the scene immediately struck him.

But his super-vision power was useless in this abyss, and he had to rely on his heightened senses to navigate the waters. 

Suddenly, he spotted a large hole in the ocean floor ahead of him. It was more than 20 meters in diameter, and Bawang felt compelled to investigate.

As he approached the entrance to the cave, however, he became aware of a strange feeling of unease. He sensed something dangerous lurking inside, and he hesitated before venturing further. 

"I think I should get going and check what lies behind that big hole", Bawang desperately said to Liu Yong.

However, Bawang stopped in his tracks, eyeing the large opening warily.

"Is it really as safe?" he asked, his deep voice echoing through the water. After all, he had a reputation to uphold and didn't want to risk his life needlessly.

As Bawang gazed into the cave's darkness, a massive creature suddenly emerged, causing them to gasp in shock.

"Oh my God," Liu Yong whispered.

Bawang was equally astonished. "This is too big!" he exclaimed.

Liu Yong quickly turned to Bawang. "Do you know what this is?" he asked.

Bawang hesitated momentarily before responding, "Master, I'm not quite sure. But I believe it might be a giant squid, the largest octopus in the world."

Liu Yong quickly opened his pet panel to check Bawang's location and was surprised to find that he was more than a thousand nautical miles away from Huahai City, deep in the sea, with a water depth of about 3,000 meters.

"The bottom of the sea is so dark," Liu Yong observed, "but with this third-party vision, everything is so clear."

Suddenly, Liu Yong's attention was drawn to the enormous creature before them. "Lying on the grass!" he exclaimed. "That's a huge octopus! I never thought I'd see something so big in my life."

The octopus was two or three times the size of the Overlord, with arms and legs that stretched over 50 meters long. 

"This is a rare giant squid," Liu Yong informed the Overlord.

"It's even bigger than the king squid and lives by preying on whales. We need to be careful."

But the Overlord was not afraid. "Hmph, let's fight to see who is stronger," he declared.

Sensing the Overlord's bravado, the giant squid became angry and rushed towards him with its arms and legs flailing like leather whips. Despite the creature's massive size, the Overlord managed to evade its blows, and the squid's limbs slammed into a nearby rock, turning the previously clear waters murky.

Liu Yong marvelled at the Overlord's intelligence. "So smart!" he exclaimed. 

"But we still need to be careful. This giant squid is not to be underestimated."





Liu Yong, who was watching the battle from the perspective of a third party, raised his heart slightly, and he was weighing in his heart how big the Overlord's chances of winning were.

The Overlord narrowly escaped the twitching of these arms and legs, and another few arms and legs swung over, apparently trying to entangle the Overlord.

The Overlord dodged these arms again and then, seizing the opportunity, stabbed towards one of the arms with the help of a giant spear.

As the giant squid thrashed through the water, it was almost like a scene from a movie. With no time to react, the Overlord plunged its massive spear into the squid's wrist, the three-pronged spear sinking into the flesh with a depth of one meter. The squid uttered a violent, sharp cry, ate the pain, and then went berserk.

With a desperate posture, the giant squid rushed towards the Overlord, quickly narrowing the distance between them. The squid wanted to engage in hand-to-hand combat, which was its strong point. 

The battle would likely not be suspenseful as long as the squid could entangle the Overlord in close quarters, much like it operated when preying on whales.

The giant squid spewed out a jet of water and, with the help of the reaction force of the water, closed the distance with the Overlord in no time. What was previously a distance of over 100 meters became only 20 to 30 meters in the blink of an eye.

The squid's arms and legs, ranging from five to sixty meters in length, wrapped around the Overlord with lightning speed. 

"You're not getting away that easily," the squid hissed through its beak as it squeezed tighter and tighter, intent on taking down its opponent.

Meanwhile, the Overlord grunted as it tried to free itself from the squid's grasp. "This is not good," the Overlord muttered to himself. "I need to get out of here before it's too late." With that, the Overlord summoned its strength and pried one of the squid's arms away from its body.

But it was only a reprieve as the squid quickly coiled another arm around the Overlord, squeezing even tighter than before.
