Chapter 189 Need To Upgrade

The abyss has no end.

Liu Yong watched the dead body of the ghost-haired jellyfish disappear through the third vision, and it was no longer in his sight.

That abyss was at least a thousand meters deep. If the water level here was over two thousand meters, the depth was over three thousand.

It could also be more than four thousand meters or more than five thousand meters.

Who knows?

Outside his sight, the abyss was dark as night, and he couldn't see the bottom.

Overlord gazed at the sinking body of the ghost-haired jellyfish and suddenly said, "Master, how does the jellyfish taste? Is it yummy? It's a waste to let it sink like this."

Damn!

Liu Yong was shocked.

As expected of a glutton, he didn't want to eat the jellyfish.

That thing was highly venomous.

Liu Yong teased him, "You XX, aren't you scared that it's venomous, be careful of poisoning."

Overlord said: "I don't eat the venomous parts. Its huge hood should be safe. I just want to try its hood. It looks shiny and greasy. It should be tasty."

Liu Yong was speechless for a while.

A glutton is a glutton. They want to try everything. Whether it is vicious or dangerous, that is not important. Deliciousness is the most important thing.

Suddenly, Overlord's expression changed.

Liu Yong sensed it and quickly asked, "What's wrong, is there any danger?"

With caution, Overlord peered into the dark and mysterious abyss and whispered to his Master, "I have a foreboding feeling, it seems that an unknown danger is looming ahead."

Without any further words, he swiftly turned around and headed out.

Liu Yong quickly understood the situation as he peered into the trench, seeing dozens of ghostly jellyfish emerging from the abyss.

These creatures varied in size, with the largest being slightly more significant than the previous one, measuring around six to seven meters in diameter with tentacles reaching almost 100 meters long.

It was as if Overlord had unknowingly disturbed a hornet's nest, and now the swarm of jellyfish was out for revenge.

Overlord could have quickly faced one or two jellyfish, but facing a swarm was different. It was time to flee.

Fortunately, the ghostly jellyfish were not swift swimmers, and Overlord easily outran them. As he fled, something strange happened. The jellyfish stopped their pursuit after only a few nautical miles, led by the giant jellyfish, and retreated into the depths of the unnamed trench.

It was a relief for Liu Yong and Overlord to notice that the jellyfish had no intention of following them too far away from the trench. Liu Yong breathed a sigh of relief, grateful the swarm of jellyfish did not chase them down.

The thought of facing a large group of jellyfish, even with Bawang's impressive speed, made him uneasy.

Overlord expressed his fright, saying, "That was a close one." He was startled by the unexpected turn of events.

Liu Yong shared a light-hearted comment, advising Overlord to be more careful in the future. He reminded Overlord that the ocean was vast and unpredictable and that there may be creatures he couldn't handle.

However, as he grows older and more experienced, his ability to handle such situations will also improve, giving him a higher level of safety.

At its current weight of more than 112 tons, Bawang is growing steadily, adding around one to two tons daily. If it continues to grow at this rate, it will soon reach a size that makes it safe from potential threats in the sea.

ραпdα -n૦νe| , c૦m For instance, the ghostly jellyfish encountered earlier would be no match for an Overlord weighing hundreds of tons. Their toxins would likely be rendered ineffective against a creature of that size. In fact, the venom potency depends on the dosage. It is doubtful that even if a being weighing several hundred tons were stung multiple times, it would have any significant impact.

"Master, I had originally planned to explore the South Pacific region in search of delicious cuisine, but I have changed my mind. I suggest we head elsewhere for now," Bawang told Liu Yong.

The journey from Huahai City to Guam had been lengthy, spanning nearly 2,000 nautical miles, and Bawang had already passed Guam. This was the longest journey Bawang had ever undertaken.

Liu Yong nodded in response to Bawang's proposal, stating that there were no pressing tasks in the coming days and Bawang was free to explore as he pleased. However, Liu Yong reminded Bawang to prioritize safety.

Liu Yong advised, "If you encounter a powerful adversary that you cannot defeat, prioritize your safety and retreat. Do not force yourself to engage in combat." Overlord, understanding the importance of safety, assured Liu Yong that he would follow his advice. However, he wanted to switch to a more significant weapon, as his current spear was small.

Overlord's giant spear was 20 meters long and weighed 17.5 tons. Liu Yong had explicitly designed this weapon for Overlord when it weighed over 20 tons. However, Overlord weighed more than 110 tons, making a more effective weapon necessary. Liu Yong promised to create a new weapon for Overlord in a few days, noting that a spear forty to fifty meters longer would be much more effective in combat. This way, the ghost jellyfish Overlord had battled earlier could be taken down in a single sprint instead of two.

Liu Yong needed to design a giant spear that could match the capabilities to make the most of the Overlord's strength.

Bawang could carry objects twice its weight, meaning that a spear weighing around 100 tons should be no problem for it to wield.

In his office, Liu Yong sat at his desk, pencil in hand, an eraser ready, and an A4 piece of white paper. He sketched and thought for a while before developing a design for the giant spear.

The spear he envisioned was cylindrical, made of alloy steel, and 50 meters long with a diameter of 50 centimetres, weighing approximately 78 tons.

The spearhead was pointed and made of the same alloy steel with no unique triangular shape.

Considering the size of the Overlord's carapace, which was more than ten meters long and seven to eight meters wide, along with its long neck and tail, Liu Yong initially wanted to design a 60-meter spear.

However, he ultimately decided that a 50-meter spear would be more manageable and less cumbersome.

After finalizing the blueprint design for the giant spear, Liu Yong enlisted the help of Qiu Yang to make it a reality. Upon seeing the drawing, Qiu Yang couldn't help but feel slightly perplexed, as the design was essentially just a large cylinder with a pointed end.

But he trusted his boss's vision and got to work immediately, wondering what formidable weapon Liu Yong planned to create.
