Chapter 205 - Take A Rest!

"You were here!"

Someone in a black suit entered the balcony. He looked at the other boy sitting on the chair. The boy didn't seem to have noticed that he was there at all and was silently staring at the stars like he always does.

"Hah!"

He walked up to the boy.

"Can't you quit this habit of yours for just one day?"

"...."

The boy didn't answer.

"Seriously!"

He sighed after seeing the face that the boy was making while looking at the sky.

"Why do you like the stars so much?"

He took his eyes off of the stars and looked at him.

"... I don't know. I feel like I used to watch them with someone else before... but I don't know who that person was."

"...."

Kain sighed again.

"You are like this again!"

He plopped down on a chair beside Kairen. The two of them sat like that for a while without any of them saying anything, until the faint voice of Kairen broke the silence.

"His eyes will be dark gray..."

He mumbled that under his lips.

"Dark gray... Just like that light... tiny and shiny..."

The boy sitting beside him gave him a strange look.

"What are you talking about?"

"It will be dark gray, Kain! The baby! It will be dark gray!"

"What? The baby will be dark Gray? Which baby?"

He looked at the boy's confused face once before shaking his head.

"Nah. Nothing, forget it."

"...."

Kain suddenly stood up.

"Why are you here anyway? It's my wedding day and instead of being by my side, you are sitting on the balcony staring at the sky and saying strange things to yourself!"

Kairen frowned at the mention of the wedding day. He didn't want to be at any parties! It was exhausting!

"It's not like we are holding a big party or anything... It's only a few people so..."

Kain pulled Kairen's arm.

"So you can't run away at all! You are the most important guest to us so should be there! Come on! Get up!"

"...."

He gave up and finally got up.

"Let's go."

Kain pulled his arm as he left the balcony.

"But Kain..."

Kain stopped after sensing that Kairen had stopped walking.

"Yes?"

"..."

He pointed at his eyes.

"The baby's will be dark gray!"

"...."

Kain closed his mouth and took a deep breath.

"WHAT BABY??????"

"...."

"FOR GOD'S SAKE CAN YOU FOR ONE DAY-"

"Sorry! I'll go in right away!"

He hurriedly ran away from the angry Kain. While still running, he turned back and yelled to Kain.

"If I ever forget, you remind me! Dark gray! They will be dark gray-"

"KAIREN!!!!"

Ding!

"Eek!"

Kairen flinched and ended up gasping loudly after hearing the small noise of the elevator. He smiled awkwardly at the people who had turned towards him and stepped inside the elevator.

"Stop thinking about that dream!"

He slapped his face and took a deep breath. While waiting for the elevator to reach unit 5's hall, he couldn't help but think about the dream he had this morning.

'But man I really was a prophet!'

He knew what color Ariyan's eyes would be before he was even born! Kairen had read something about dark gray eyes in the notebook he found in his first days of coming to this world but he didn't pay it much thought.

A few days ago, Kairen also had a dream about Kain going nuts about his brother's little prophecy about Ariyan's eyes after the baby was born 1 year after their wedding.

Kairen had that dream before this one, so he didn't understand why in his dream, Kain was going around and mumbling 'Dark gray baby. Dark gray. Kairen! Dark gray!' while holding his newborn son like a madman.

'Ah, that must've been creepy!'

Kairen shook his head. His past self was truly creepy sometimes.

Wait.

Wasn't he also creepy for seeing his past self's memories in his dreams?

Wait why was it his past self all of a sudden wasn't that crazy man was a whole different person?

'Anyway!'

Ding.

Kairen stepped outside the elevator and entered the hall.

'No one is here...'

The hall was empty. They must be really busy. Kairen glanced at the hall once again before walking towards Glenn's office.

"You are... finally... back..."

The voice sounded like the final words of a dying father who had seen his son in his last breaths.

"...Yes."

Kairen walked inside the room while looking at Glenn, who seemed to be on the verge of death. His face was pale and big dark circles were around his eyes. He also seemed to have gotten thinner.

All of a sudden, the sharp dagger of guilt jabbed Kairen's heart.

"Come here..."

A smile bloomed on the dying man's face as he gestured to Kairen to approach him. It was a rather scary smile for Kairen.

"Yes."

As he was told, Kairen walked towards the desk that was filled with papers.

"Here. This, this, and this one. Categorize them first then I'll let you know how you are supposed to proceed and enter the data to the..."

Glenn started explaining what he was supposed to do as he handed him one bunch of documents after another.

"Did you understand?"

"Yes."

Kairen sat at the table he usually used and proceeded to do the job assigned to him.

"Do you have any problems in doing it?"

"No, sir."

"Hehe!"

Glenn chuckled happily as he watched Kairen.

"Finally, my assistant is back!"

"...."

Kairen couldn't help but raise his head to look at Glenn who suddenly shouted that with an about-to-break-into-tears face.

"Ah! Did I say it out loud?"

Noticing Kairen's gaze, Glenn shook his head and mumbled to himself.

"Why did I think with a loud voice? Huh! I'm doing it again!"

"...."

'Team leader Dains was true!'

Glenn was going... or probably had already gone crazy!

Kairen put down the pen in his hands.

"Glenn why don't you..."

"Hmm?"

Glenn stopped mumbling and rose his head.

"Why don't you rest today? I can take care of things here."

"...."

"I mean, I can't do things as good as you but I'll at least try?"

"...."

Glenn silently stared at his face.

'Why is he looking at me like that? Did I say something wrong?'

"You... Um... You seem to have not slept properly in a few days so I just thought you could take a rest..."

"...."

"...."

While Kairen was wondering if he had to apologize or something, he saw Glenn's eyes cloud over.

"There is... someone who really wants... to save me..."

"....."

Glenn lowered his head.

"If only my dear assistant was here in the past few days... I wouldn't have to suffer... so much..."

"...."

Kairen opened and closed his eyes.

Pardon?

Who was that 'dear assistant'?

'But seriously, there wasn't a single person to help him out all these days?'

That can't be. No matter how hard it would be for them to deal with this stuff, they could at least help him in minor things.

'Everybody must've been really busy...'

But of course, not as much as Glenn.

To think that everyone was working so hard while he was doing nothing...

Another sharp blade of guilt pierced Kairen's heart.

"But why didn't you let me come to work earlier? I could've helped..."

"Hmm??"

"Didn't everything end with the commander interrogating me personally? Then why was I said to not come to work?"

After looking at Kairen with a blank face for a few seconds, Glenn shook his head.

"The word has gotten out."

"The word?"

"The news about the commander personally going to meet a mere agent... 'Just who that agent is for the commander to act like that?'... Everyone was going crazy over that fact..."

Kairen's face automatically turned into a frown.

"Why would such a thing..."

Glenn shrugged his shoulders.

"Still, it wasn't so serious... It didn't really require you to stay home for 5 weeks. It was mostly team leader Dains being overprotective for his subordinate."

"...."

Kairen frowned even more.

"That's...!"

Kairen didn't know what to say.  His face crinkled more and more.

Glenn chuckled after looking at his face.

"Anyway, my assistant is back. That's a good thing enough."

Hearing that, Kairen examined Glenn's face once again.

"But really, you should take a rest."

Glenn leaned back and sighed.

"After the prince comes and-"

"No. Not then. Go take a rest now in the break room."

Glenn opened and closed his mouth.

"Yes?"

Kairen glared at Glenn with a crinkled face.

"I shouldn't talk like this to my superior but sir you look like a zombie please sleep a little bit."

"...."

"I won't cause any trouble."

"...."

"And I will do just as you told me."

"...."

Glenn didn't give an answer. He scratched his cheek and looked around.

"Um... but... I can't slack off at work..."

"No one was in the hall so no one will know about it!"

"...."

"...."

Kairen stared at the man's face with an urging face. After being under that gaze for a few moments, Glenn hesitantly stood up.

"Then... wake me up if you need help with anything..."

"Yes."

Glenn still looked around with hesitation, seemingly feeling guilty for slacking off. But in the end, he left the office with an apologetic face.

'He would really go crazy if I didn't force him to rest now!'

Then who would have to organize these papers if Glenn went crazy?

Kairen!

Extra work!

Plus, Glenn wouldn't have accepted Kairen's offer if he didn't really need to rest!

"Anyway!"

With a smile, Kairen picked up his pen.

He said he would work instead of Glenn with so much confidence so he couldn't disappoint him!
