Chapter 206 - A Guest

It was going to be a 7 days stay.

A total of 5 conferences in 7 days.

Visiting the borders that were damaged because of the small conflicts between the two countries.

Signing some contracts, each related to different matters but all of them were related to the better cooperation between the two countries.

A few conferences about the situation between the two countries and some meetings about establishing peace.

Visiting Bordkly's embassy in Hainston... and other stuff like that.

This was a part of the schedule that was set for the time that Bordkly's prince would stay in Hainston.

The main point of this trip was to establish peace between the two countries, but there was other stuff they would take care of in the meantime.

'This is not comfortable at all...'

Kairen tidied his clothes and looked at himself in the mirror.

'Are we supposed to fight while wearing these things?'

A black military coat with some designs on it, black pants, an armband with the symbol of SMF on it, and a cloth mask to conceal their identity.

If you looked closer it was similar to the uniform they always wore but much more formal and less suitable for combat. It looked to be designed for a fancy party rather than an escorting mission.

Some communication devices and such stuff would also be added to the uniform. Kairen couldn't help but think that it would be hard for people to move and fight in these clothes if anything happens.

'Hm...'

He looked at himself in the mirror.

'But I'm not that bad...'

Didn't he look good in these clothes?

Kairen wasn't as good-looking as his older brother, but he still had a pretty decent face. Now that he was wearing some nice clothes, he thought he wasn't half bad.

'If only I had some muscles...'

Wouldn't he look even better in these clothes if his body was a little bit buffed like Kain's?

Why was he so thin? He wanted muscles! Not a huge and muscular body, but not this thin one either!

Kairen did try to exercise a little bit in the past five weeks, but with his body already getting too tired after using that small amount of his power, Kairen didn't have any energy left for a workout.

"Kairen, are you ready? We should hurry so come out if you are done."

"Yes!"

He glanced at himself in the mirror one last time to make sure that he had worn his uniform properly before leaving the room.

"Ariyan! Wake up! Don't doze off and eat your food!"

"Unn..."

Ariyan, who was dozing off while eating breakfast, flinched after hearing his mom's voice. He opened his eyes and yawned while rubbing his eyes.

"Unn?"

He tilted his head after seeing that the three people in the house were all wearing similar clothes and put down the bread in his hands.

"Why are you all wearing those pretty clothes? I want one as well!"

His eyes sparkled as he looked at the uniforms.

"Ah!"

Alessia smiled and patted the kid's head.

"It's for our work."

"Uh..."

The kid nodded his head with his eyes still sparkling.

"Look Ariyan. We are going to be a bit busy for a few days, so we might be a little bit late to pick you up from the kindergarten."

"Uh!"

Ariyan looked between the three people.

"You will be busy?"

"Yes, we will be busy."

The kid looked at Kairen.

"Even uncle?"

"Yes."

"I will have to stay longer in the kindergarten?"

Alessia smiled apologetically.

"Yes. You might stay there a little bit longer for a week."

"Uh..."

The sparkling face was gone and the kid now looked disappointed. He lowered his head and pouted his lips. Alessia grabbed the kid's shoulders with both hands.

"So, don't go anywhere if we are late, okay? Listen to your teacher. Either one of us will come as soon as we are free so don't worry."

"Un!"

Ariyan nodded his head while still pouting.

"Sorry about this!"

Alessia whispered to the kid's ear while wrapping her arms around him and pulling him into her embrace.

"Un!"

"But instead, once this week is over, we will have a lot of free time. We can spend a lot of time together."

"Un!"

"I'll take you to wherever you want and buy you anything you ask for, okay?"

"Un."

"Good boy!"

Alessia let go of the kid and pulled his cheeks instead.

"My cute baby!"

"Owww!"

"Haha!"

After eating their breakfast, the four of them left the house. It was still early in the morning and the weather was chilly when they got on the car.

"Is it really okay?"

Kairen asked while waving at Ariyan who was going inside the kindergarten.

"I also don't like to leave my kid alone in a kindergarten for a long time as well, but it's not like we have any other choice."

"Right..."

All of the units were summoned to work for this one week. Most of them had to act as escorts, either for the foreign politicians or for their own country's men. There was a high risk of Philomns doing something in the meantime so they used all of the agents they had.

While unit 5 and half of unit 6 would protect Bordkly's prince, the other half of unit 6 would protect Hainston's president. Unit 4 was in charge of protecting Hainston's ministers and politicians while unit 3 would escort Bordkly's diplomat.

Unit 1 and 2 were in charge of arranging and coordinating things. They would oversee the other 4 units and transfer the orders.

Even a few of the Monster Hunting Division's hunters were chosen to guard everywhere and take action if any monsters were spotted.

"They should pay us extra for this..."

"Yeah."

"I want a long break after everything is over."

"Same."

They chitchatted in the car until they reached their destination, which would be SMF's headquarters.

They had to be divided into groups and be instructed once again. Then they would be given the equipment they needed and would be sent to their designed locations.

The briefing and final preparations took about one hour. Just as it was planned, unit 5, and half of unit 6 along with their deputy team leader, were sent to escort the prince who had traveled by airplane. So they had to go to the airport.

'Seriously, why don't you just teleport here? Isn't it dangerous to travel by plane in such a situation?'

Kairen was told that it was because of some formalities and had something to do with respecting the other side or something like that, but he still thought all of this thing was unnecessary.

"Ah! Alessia's in the other team."

"Yeah."

The other team would also go to the airport as they had to follow the president who had to be at the airport to greet his guest.

Kairen peeked at Kain while listening to the deputy commander's orders.

'Good thing we are on the same team...'

He wanted to stick to this man's side as much as he could. After all, he had the duty of keeping an eye on that stupid bracelet and preventing Kain from using its power.

"Make sure to report anything that catches your eyes. Don't miss a single thing."

"Yes, sir."

"The prince and the president's safety are the top priority, so don't make any moves that might endanger them."

"Yes, sir."

The final briefing eventually came to an end and the agents walked to the cars they would be using.

Half an hour later, a bunch of people was gathered in an airport. The people mostly consisted of politicians and agents, and some other important faces who were there to greet the neighboring country's prince.

"He's coming!"

"Look!"

"Stand in your positions!"

The agents, the aura wielded to be more specific, lined up on the two sides of the entrance. The mages had already cast barriers and shields around the president and the others and were standing behind the aura wielders alongside the agents with other abilities.

And as they stood still like some statues, a group approached the entrance.

Kairen secretly peeked towards the group that had just exited the airplane. The first thing that attracted his attention was the clothes that the person walking in front of the group was wearing.

'Wow, that looks so expensive...'

Unlike the others who were wearing normal clothes, the person walking in the front had a flashy outfit that looked like one of those outfits worn by royalty who lived a few centuries ago. Those that Kairen had seen a lot in some webtoons that were related to royal families and such.

"Wow, his eyes are really purple!"

After hearing a faint mumble of a female agent beside him, Kairen peeked at the said person's face.

'They really are purple...'

The young man who was elegantly walking in the front of the group had purple eyes and light blonde hair.

Purple eyes.

Kairen had heard about them.

They were a symbol of Bordkly's royalty.

Kairen didn't know the details but there were some tales about those purple eyes in Bordkly.

'Anyway, so he is the prince?'

Even ignoring his eyes, by wearing the fanciest and probably the most beautiful outfit Kairen had ever seen, the person was literally screaming that he was the prince of a country.

'Ah, but he is so young...'

Maybe even younger than Kairen.

Nudge Nudge

"Stop staring at the man and recite the lines we had practiced!"

Serria nudged him once more while saying that.

"Ah!"

Right! He should recite the greeting line alongside the whole group, right?
