96 You are Always Special

There were many of their classmates who had lost contact with Mu Zhen Yu after he moved to G Country. Now that the man had returned, everyone was curious to listen to his experience in the foreign country.

Zhang Li Xue sat with Zhou Tong as she listened to his story as well.

She had lost contact with him and was curious to know how had he managed, to stay in a foreign country alone. Now that she had listened to his story, Zhang Li Xue could not help but admire him a little bit more.

Everyone in the room was having so much fun catching up while eating their meal.

Seeing how the boys were surrounding Mu Zhen Yu made her heave a breath in disappointment.

When she decided to join this reunion, Zhang Li Xue had hoped that she could talk to Mu Zhen Yu as well. After they have gone out sometimes ago, both of them had been busy with their life.

Now that the man was in front of her, she could not find a chance to speak to him.

After drinking some water, Zhang Li Xue stood up and told Zhou Tong that she was going to the restroom. She spent a couple of minutes in the cubicle before standing in front of the mirror to wash her hands.

A faint sigh escaped as she thought of how Mu Zhen Yu was too busy being surrounded by the others. It seemed that it would be impossible to talk to him today.

Zhang Li Xue was considering that she should leave the party early and perhaps, head over to her aunt’s place and join the boys to play games.

But she quickly shook the idea off her mind. Even if she could not speak to Mu Zhen Yu today, she could still talk with Zhou Tong and the others.

As she made up her mind, Zhang Li Xue walked out of the bathroom. However, her movement halted the moment she saw a familiar figure in front of her.

“Li Xue.” The man flashed a smile at her.

“Brother Zhen Yu. Why are you here?” Zhang Li Xue looked in the opposite direction where the gents’ restroom was located.

“When I saw you come out, I decided to come over and wait for you,” Mu Zhen Yu said.

A shade of pink appeared on her cheek when Zhang Li Xue heard his words. “Brother Zhen Yu, is there something you would like to say to me?”

“I just wanted to chat,” Mu Zhen Yu said. “The last time I asked you out again, you said you were busy with something else.”

Zhang Li Xue recalled his phone call a few weeks ago. At that time, she was in the hospital because of her appendicitis. The surgery went well, but her family members insisted for she stayed home a while longer to recuperate.

Because of that, she had to reject his invitation.

Zhang Li Xue lowered her head and explained her situation.

Hearing that Zhang Li Xue had rejected his invitation because she was having surgery made him worry. Mu Zhen Yu gave the girl a look over and asked, “Such big things happen and you did not even tell me. Are you alright now?”

“Mmm... I’m already recovered. Brother Zhen Yu, sorry for making you worry.”

Mu Zhen Yu heaved a sigh as he looked at her. He put his hand into his jacket and pulled out a card. “That’s right.” A bright smile curled on her lips. “My office’s renovation will be completed at the end of the month. Li Xue, you should come to our open day.”

Zhang Li Xue chuckled. She looked at the card and recalled that she should be free on that day. “Thank you. I will try to make it to the open day.”

He looked around and put a finger on his lips. “But don’t tell anyone about it. I only give this invitation card to you.”

She slid the invitation card into her purse and smiled. “Then, should I think of myself as special?”

The smile on his face widened. “Li Xue, you are always special to me.”

Her movement halted. Zhang Li Xue did not expect to hear such words from Mu Zhen Yu. Her cheek reddened and she did not know where she should be putting her hands.

Zhang Li Xue could feel her heartbeat go faster as the two of them continued to stare at each other for a long time.

It almost felt as if everything around her had disappeared. The only person that remained was this man she used to have a crush on.

The piercing tone from her phone broke the moment between them.

Zhang Li Xue flashed an apologetic look to Mu Zhen Yu. Then, she quickly pulled out her phone and saw that it was a number she had not recognized.

Usually, she was someone who would not entertain an unknown number. However, as she recalled the awkward moment just now, Zhang Li Xue decided to take this call.

It did not take her too long to figure out who was on the other line. As she recalled, there was only one person who would call her ‘Pretty Sister’. Moreover, Bai Xi Xi’s adorable voice was hard to miss.

“Xi Xi?” A smile curled on her lips.

“Un. It’s me.”

Zhang Li Xue looked up and motioned to Mu Zhen Yu that she was going to answer this call. As she walked to the corner, Zhang Li Xue heard the little girl’s voice again.

“Pretty sister, I need your help. Can you come over to my place?”

Zhang Li Xue was quick to notice that something was wrong with the little girl’s tone of voice. “What’s the matter? Where is your bother?”

“My brother is on duty today,” Bai Xi Xi said. “Xi Xi is staying home alone because Auntie Ji went away to another city. It’s just that, the faucet in the bathroom broke. I did not know what I should do to make it stop. The bathroom is almost flooding. Xi Xi tried to call my brother, but he was not picking up his phone. Pretty sister, you’re the first person who I could think of.”
