Chapter 133

133 Both Fell Sick at the Same Time

“Mommy, I feel so uncomfortable.”

Li Qin Yao looked at her daughter who was wrapped in a thick blanket. Then, she turned to her son who was doing the same.

Yesterday, the two of them went out and returned home in the rain. Although Zhang Li Xue was not as drenched as Zhang Yi Hai, the two of them ended up catching a cold.

A helpless sigh escaped her upon seeing that the two of them were acting like a baby.

Li Qin Yao had thought that she would never face a day like this again, now that her two children were adults.

Who would have thought that she will have to worry and look after them now that they both fell sick at the same time?

Now that they were feeling unwell at the same time, Li Qin Yao let them both stay in the TV room so that it would be easier for her to look after them.

“Drink more water, it will help,” Li Qin Yao spoke. She looked at her daughter’s reddened cheek and frowned. “Should we take you to the hospital?” She walked over and placed her palm on Zhang Li Xue’s forehead. Her frown deepened as she felt her temperature.

“Mommy, I only had a fever. I don’t want to go to the hospital,” Zhang Li Xue whined. Her voice sounded hoarse and her throat felt uncomfortable.

.....

It wasn’t long ago that she was hospitalized. Thinking about those needles made her shiver.

Now that she was feeling uncomfortable all over her body, all she wanted was her mother’s attention.

Across her, her brother, Zhang Yi Hai was watching her with a helpless gaze.

The sound of footsteps approached. Li Qin Yao looked up and saw that her husband was walking in their direction.

“How is it?” Zhang Yu Han asked.

“Their temperature is still high.” Li Qin Yao glanced at her daughter. “But someone did not want to go to the hospital.”

Zhang Li Xue pouted as she met her mother’s gaze.

“Then, I’ll call Qi Zheng to look at them.” Zhang Yu Han glanced at her daughter and sent her a look that say that this was not for negotiation.

Zhang Li Xue turned to her brother, hoping that he would help her to persuade her father not to call their uncle.

Their Uncle Qi Zheng was a surgeon, but their father would still call him up whenever they had a fever. Zhang Li Xue would always feel a bit guilty whenever Qi Zheng came to check on her.

Unfortunately for her, her brother was pretending to look away and did not notice the look in her eyes. In the end, Zhang Li Xue could only compromise.

Zhang Yu Han walked over to his wife and planted a kiss on her lips. “I’ll head over to work now. Are you sure you will be alright?”

Li Qin Yao giggled. “They are already an adult. It won’t be that difficult to look after them.”

A helpless sigh escaped him. “Alright. Just tell me if you need anything.” He leaned over to peck on his wife’s lips a few more times. Finally, he pulled away and look at his two children.

The siblings were looking away, pretending that they did not see anything.

Zhang Yu Han patted his son on the shoulder and kissed his daughter on top of her head. Then, he left for work.

Now that her husband had left, Li Qin Yao sat in the room to look for her children.

Only when her kids had eaten their medicine and slept, did Li Qin Yao finally feel more at ease.

In the afternoon, someone rang the doorbell.

As the auntie led the guest into the house, Li Qin Yao could not help but find that the person in front of her was a little familiar. She realized that she had seen this man before.

“Hello, Auntie.” Bai Qi flashed a polite smile. “Doctor Qi Zheng had to attend a meeting with the directors. He couldn’t make it. So, he asked me to come over. I am Bai Qi. Doctor Qi Zheng’s apprentice.”

Li Qin Yao gave the young man a look over.

Then, she recalled meeting this young doctor at the hospital when her daughter had surgery. “Hello. Please, come in.” An awkward smile curled on her lips. “I’m sorry to trouble you.”

Li Qin Yao did not think that Qi Zheng would send his apprentice to look at the siblings. It was okay if Qi Zheng had come. He was family and they were used to having him come over. However, it was different now that Qi Zheng had sent his apprentice.

“It’s fine.”

Bai Qi certainly did not mind making this trip. When he heard from his mentor that his little fairy was feeling unwell, Bai Qi was unable to be at ease. He wanted to come over to look at her as well.

“The two of them are sleeping in the room. Doctor Bai, please come with me.”

Bai Qi nodded. He followed the woman until they arrived at the TV Room.

Li Qin Yao walked in and adjusted the blanket covering her daughter’s body. Only then did she let Bai Qi into the room.

As Bai Qi went up to Zhang Yi Hai to check her temperature, Li Qin Yao began to tell him which medicine she had fed her children.

Because the siblings were asleep, Li Qin Yao could only speak in a low voice.

Just in time, the auntie walked over to inform her that there was another guest, waiting in the living room.

Her brow creased. Li Qin Yao wondered who would come to their house on a day like this. She turned to Bai Qi again with an apologetic smile. “Sorry. I have to go out and look. Doctor Bai, would it be alright if I leave you here with them?”

Bai Qi nodded. “Auntie, just go ahead. I’ll be fine on my own.”

Li Qin Yao glanced at her children again before she walked out.

Bai Qi stood up from Zhang Yi Hai’s side and walked over to his little fairy.

A helpless sigh escaped him as he watched Zhang Li Xue’s sleeping face. He walked over and placed his palm on her forehead.

Fortunately, her temperature was not as high as her little brother’s.

Just as Bai Qi pulled his hand away, Zhang Li Xue began to stir in her sleep.

Her eyes narrowed as she wondered if the person in front of her was real or just her imagination. “Doctor Bai?” Zhang Li Xue whispered. “Why are you here?”
