220 He was Done For

On their way to the restaurant, Zhang Li Xue could not keep calm as she thought Bai Qi’s words. She still finds it strange that Bai Qi would like her when they were still very young.

The more that she thought about it, the more that she felt that it was surreal.

At her aunt’s wedding, she was made the flower girl and had to wear a pretty dress.

Bai Qi said that he saw her for the first time and had suggested for the others ask her to play. This was the reason why Mu Zhen Yu had asked her to join them.

The waiter had just left with their order when Bai Qi noticed that his girlfriend was still staring at him. He let out a chuckle and spoke, “Why do you look at me like that?” A thought came to his mind and he asked, “Was what I said earlier hard to believe?”

Zhang Li Xue lowered her head shyly.

If she did not have any memories of what happened during her aunt’s wedding, Zhang Li Xue might not believe his words.

“Bai Qi, you said that you like me from the first time we met,” Zhang Li Xue spoke. She watched him nodded and continued, Then, why did you pull my hair?”

There was a rare embarrassed look on Bai Qi’s face. He thought of the reason he had pulled such a trick and thought that the young him was too immature.

“What reason?”

Bai Qi was not willing to tell her the reason. However, he worry that if he did not say anything, Zhang Li Xue would not believe that he was telling the truth.

He weigh his decision and spoke, “After Mu Zhen Yu asked you to play together, your attention was only on him.”

It did not take Zhang Li Xue a long time to guess what had happened.

“I wanted to play with you as well,” Bai Qi continued. Pulling her hair was his way to get her to look at him.

Suddenly, Zhang Li Xue began to smile. She leaned over and stared at him with her bright eyes. “Bai Qi, I didn’t think you would be this cute.”

The young doctor knew that he was being teased and did not speak a word.

In the beginning, he did not understand his feelings for Zhang Li Xue as well. He just thought that she was very pretty and adorable in her flower girl dress. Her soft hair bounced around whenever she walked. He was curious to know what touching her hair would feel like. He also wanted her to pay attention to him.

He saw her again at He Rong’s wedding. Although her appearance had changed a lot, Bai Qi knew that he could recognize her at a glance.

His heart skipped a beat. Just one glance at her and he was done for.

Meanwhile, a certain someone was feeling giddy.

While having their dinner, Zhang Li Xue could not stop smiling sheepishly.

After paying their bills, Zhang Li Xue went to the restroom while Bai Qi volunteered to get her car which was parked a little farther from the restaurant.

Zhang Li Xue came out of the restroom and headed to the entrance to wait for Bai Qi.

She sent a text to Bai Qi to let him know that she had come out. When she looked up again, Zhang Li Xue was surprised to see a familiar face in front of her.

Just like her, Mu Zhen Yu too was not expecting that he would meet her at a place like this.

Mu Zhen Yu recalled the last time he had met Zhang Li Xue and felt uncomfortable about it. He still remembered that he had an important matter that he wanted to let her know.

However, these days, he was too busy with his company matters that he did not have time to contact her.

Their gazes met. Mu Zhen Yu flashed her a smile before walking over to her. “Xiao Li Xue.”

Just then, a tall, beautiful woman walked over to their side.

Zhang Li Xue watched as the woman stood beside Mu Zhen Yu and quickly recalled who she was.

Noticing her gaze, Mu Zhen Yu quickly explained. “Li Xue, this is Miss Ye. We’re here to discuss a collaboration.”

A hint of displeasure appeared in Ye Qing’s eyes. However, it quickly disappeared before anyone could notice anything.

Zhang Li Xue exchanged a brief greeting with Miss Ye Qing. Then, she turned to Mu Zhen Yu again. “Brother Zhen Yu, you should go ahead with your business. Don’t let me hold you.”

A helpless smile curled on his lips. “Li Xue, I still have something to say to you. How about hanging out this weekend? I promise that it would not take much of your time.”

Zhang Li Xue recalled that Mu Zhen Yu seemed to have something that he wanted to tell her from their last meeting. However, something happened and he did not manage to say anything.

“Alright.” Zhang Li Xue nodded. “Brother Zhen Yu, just text me when you are free.”
