276 My Girlfriend is too Domineering

As they were walking to leave the building, Bai Qi recalled seeing his girlfriend’s father surrounded by those men in their suits and tie. He glanced at her girlfriend and spoke, “Did something happen? I saw your dad surrounded by a few people. They seemed to be discussing something.”

“Mmm... It will be the company’s anniversary soon. Everyone is busy preparing for it,” Zhang Li Xue said. She flashed him a smile and continued. “When the time comes, you have to come to the celebration banquet.”

He knew that the company’s anniversary banquet would be attended by many of their business partners and friends. There will be a lot of people from the upper society as well.

In the past, he had attended such events with his parents. But after his family went bankrupt, he was no longer invited to such events.

He was now a doctor with no impressive background or supporters. Dating Zhang Li Xue and having her family’s approval was already a blessing for him.

However, Bai Qi was worried about whether it would be suitable for him to attend such events. There will be a lot of rich and powerful people around. He did not want to embarrass his girlfriend or her family.

He might have some money now, but his status could not compare to those who attended the Zhang Group’s banquet.

“Are you hungry?” Bai Qi asked as he slid into the driver’s seat. “Should we go shop first, or do you want to eat?”

“Let’s just go and shop first,” Zhang Li Xue said. “And then, we can go and eat something to celebrate.”

Bai Qi stretched his hand to touch the tip of her nose. “Alright.” He then placed his hands on the steering wheel and drove away from the hotel building.

After driving for a while, they finally reached the car dealership.

Zhang Li Xue unbuckled the seatbelt and looked at her boyfriend. “Have you decided which one you wanted to buy?”

“I have a few models in mind. But, I still want to look at them first,” Bai Qi said. He went over to the passenger’s side and helped his girlfriend with the door. “Of course, the most important thing is that I wanted your opinion as well.”

Zhang Li Xue giggled. “As long as you and Xi Xi like it, then, I don’t have much opinion.”

Bai Qi held her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. “In the future, I will be using this car to pick up my girlfriend from work. Of course, your opinion matters.”

The smile on her face widened. Doctor Bai’s words made her heart feel as if they were soaked in honey.

Holding hands, the two of them walked into the car dealership together.

A salesman quickly greeted them and asked for their preferences.

The salesman followed the couple around and finally spoke again, “Mister, you have good taste. This model is also quite popular as well. Its safety feature is among the best.”

“Madam, you are right,” the salesman chirped in. “This model is very suitable if you have a baby or a child. It is very suitable for family.”

The salesman’s words made her pause. Why does it feel as if there was something strange with the salesman’s words?

Zhang Li Xue glanced at Bai Qi and saw the hint of a smile on his face.

She was only thinking of Xi Xi, but the salesman would misunderstand her words and think that they were a couple shopping for a car for their family.

He took a deep breath and finally looked at his girlfriend again with a smile. “Should we go somewhere and celebrate now? Where do you want to go?”

Zhang Li Xue pondered over his words before answering. “Let’s go and have dinner at the apartment.” A tinkle of laughter escaped her when she saw him raising his brow at her. “I suddenly crave to eat your chicken wings.”

Bai Qi laughed. “Does my cooking taste really good?”

“Un. Other than my great-grandpa’s chicken wings, yours tasted the best,” Zhang Li Xue spoke. “I thought about it. In this life, you can only make chicken wings for me.”

“Then, what about Xi Xi?”

Her lips pursed into a thin line. “Then, you can only make chicken wings for me and Xi Xi. You can’t make them for another woman.”

Bai Qi leaned over to kiss her cheek. He looked at her again and joked, “My girlfriend is too domineering.”

Zhang Li Xue raised her head higher and her lips turned into a playful smile. She stretched her hand to grab the front of his shirt. “That’s right. Doctor Bai, you are only allowed to pamper me.”

Bai Qi laughed. He cupped her cheeks with his hands, thinking that his little fairy was too adorable. “Then, I’ll listen to you. Li Xue, I will only pamper you. It will always be you.”
