289 Years of Sisterhood

Zhang Li Xue helped to register Fang Su Jin’s name to the hotel and let the girl use the suite that her family frequently used to entertain family and friends.

Fang Su Jin stayed in the room quietly as she waited for her friend to finish her work.

Once it was time to clock off from work, Zhang Li Xue took her friend to the nearest mall to shop around for some clothes for Fang Su Jin.

Then, they left together and headed to the restaurant to meet with Bai Qi.

Bai Qi was already waiting for them as they arrived at the private room.

He stood up immediately as the girls walked in and flashed a smile.

Zhang Li Xue left her friend’s side and walked over to Bai Qi’s side. She leaned over to peck her boyfriend’s lips before turning to Fang Su Jin again.

“Zhang Li Xue, look at how fast you are abandoning your best friend after you found your man!” Fang Su Jin complained. “What happened to our years of sisterhood?”

Bai Qi looked at Fang Su Jin and greeted her, “Miss Fang, hello.”

Fang Su Jin watched as Bai Qi helped to pull Zhang Li Xue’s chair and heaved a long sigh. Seeing her best friend this happy made her happy as well, but do they have to continue scattering dog food?

The server walked into the private room to take their order. After confirming their order, the server finally left.

Fang Su Jin watched as the couple in front of her, whispering to each other. Suddenly, she was slightly regretting her decision to join them for this meal. The two of them continued to spread sweetness all over.

“Doctor Bai, you are quite capable,” Fang Su Jin spoke. “I heard that you have already met Li Xue’s family members. It’s good to see that you managed to come out unscathed.”

In the past, Fang Su Jin had tried to warn Bai Qi to stay away from Zhang Yi Hai. The young man was well-known for chasing away his sister’s potential pursuers.

It was because of this brother that Zhang Li Xue had stayed single for years.

Who would have thought that Bai Qi had met Zhang Yi Hai and had a basketball match with that man as well?

Fang Su Jin had heard about Zhang Yi Hai’s reaction through Zhang Li Xue. She did not know whether to be glad or disappointed with the young man’s reaction. Fang Su Jin was actually hoping to see some drama, but things ended peacefully just like that.

Still, seeing how Bai Qi could make her happy made her feel more at ease.

Bai Qi merely smiled as he listened to Fang Su Jin’s words.

“Su Jin, why do your words sound as if my family was going to torture Bai Qi?” Zhang Li Xue shot a displeased look at her friend.

Fang Su Jin clicked her tongue. “In the past, just how many men have your family chased away?”

Zhang Li Xue thought about her friend’s words and decided not to argue with her.

Meanwhile, Bai Qi was watching the two friends banter from the side with a smile on his face. He could not help but think that their interactions were very cute.

The three of them ate their meal while chatting happily.

After eating some food, Fang Su Jin finally put down her chopsticks.

“Su Jin, you are not eating anymore?” Zhang Li Xue asked.

Fang Su Jin heaved a long sigh. “Forget it. I’m a little full after eating too much dog food.”

Zhang Li Xue exchanged a glance with Bai Qi and laughed shyly.

Now that Fang Su Jin had decided to run away from home, she was a little worried about her mother’s reaction. They had a fight, but Fang Su Jin was still missing her parents very much.

She hoped that her father would be able to help her convince her mother to stop trying to match her with that annoying person.

So what if her younger cousin is getting married? At this age, there was nothing wrong with staying single. The most important thing was to meet someone who could match her pace and had the same view as her.

It was their first official meeting after Bai Qi and Zhang Li Xue had started to date. Naturally, Bai Qi would e paying for the meal.

“Doctor Bai, you must remember not to bully our Li Xue,” Fang Su Jin spoke. “I know that you have met her family members and have seen how terrifying everyone can be. But, I still wanted to let you know that if you dare to hurt her, I wouldn’t mind joining them to fight you.”

Fang Su Jin gave a few warnings to Bai Qi before she left with Zhang Li Xue’s car.

Zhang Li Xue watched as her friend drive away before turning to Bai Qi again, “Su Jin will be driving my car back to the hotel. Doctor Bai, it looks like you’ll have to send me back home today.”

His lips turned up into a smile. Bai Qi stretched his hand and patted his girlfriend’s head. Holding hands, the couple began to walk together.

In the past, Bai Qi always wanted to send his girlfriend back after going on a date together. Now that he had the chance to send her back, of course, he would be happy. It would also mean that he will get to spend more time with her.

The two continued to chat about a lot of things as Bai Qi was driving.

After a few minutes, his vehicle finally pulled over in front of her house.

Bai Qi turned to his girlfriend and spoke, “Li Xue.” He took her hand in his and pinched her fingers. “Your aunt called me this afternoon.”

“My aunt? Aunt Yu Ying?”

“Un.” Bai Qi nodded. “She mentioned that I needed to go to S Country to handle some legal stuff. They’re going to need my signature and some identification before they could release some reports. I’m planning to take a few days off from the hospital and head over to S Country after your hotel’s anniversary banquet.” He stared into her eyes for a long time. “Would you like to go with me?”
