324 An Appointment with Someone Else

After spending a few more days in S Country, the four of them returned to Y City.

Before they left, Bai Qi had spoken with the lawyer again and had agreed to let him manage everything for him. It might take a while before Wen Shang will be charged with his crime, but Bai Qi was willing to wait.

Once everything is ready, Bai Qi will head over to S Country again and do his part.

He did not hope to get back the money or his father’s company. What was important was that his father’s reputation would be restored.

Zhang Li Xue had taken a few days off from work. When she returned to her office, a stack of documents was already waiting for her.

Looking at the stack of files gave her the urge to cry.

She was starting to miss her leisure days in S Country where she could spend her days with Bai Qi. The two would simply walk around the city and eat many delicious foods.

The past few days, Zhang Li Xue did not even have time to meet her Doctor Bai. Even Bai Qi was busy with his work. After taking a few days off work, Bai Qi had to help cover a few of his friend’s shifts as well.

After eating the supper that her mother had prepared, Zhang Li Xue headed to her room and readied herself for bed.

After taking her shower and doing her routine skin care, Zhang Li Xue grabbed her phone and send a message to Bai Qi.

A few seconds later, her phone rang. Seeing the name on the phone screen made her lips tilt up into a shy smile.

“Bai Qi.” Her voice sounded especially coquettish.

Bai Qi swallowed when he heard his girlfriend’s voice. There was a part of his heart that felt a little ticklish. Who would have thought that listening to her voice would make his heart feel this way?

“Are you going to sleep?”

“Mhm...” Zhang Li Xue rolled on her bed and heaved a long sigh.

During their trip to S Country, a certain someone had hugged and coaxed her to sleep and she was beginning to miss him.

Her bed felt especially large these days.

When she realized what was going through her mind, Zhang Li Xue quickly scolded herself as a shameless woman.

But, what should she do? She really missed him a lot.

When did she get this sticky?

“Bai Qi. I miss you a lot.”

He lowered his gaze and placed his hand on his forehead. He also missed his girlfriend a lot. However, it was really hard to kidnap his girlfriend from her home. He did not want to get into trouble with her father.

“Well, I miss you too.”

Zhang Li Xue had a silly smile on her face. “You’re not busy?”

“It’s fine. I can take a few minutes of break.” A faint smile curled on her lips as he looked at the documents on his desk.

After leaving for a week, he needed to work hard and finish writing a report that he had promised to give Doctor Qi Zheng.

The couple chatted for a while about this and that. Although Bai Qi did not understand hotel management that much, he still enjoyed listening to his girlfriend talk about it.

“Should I go and look for you at the hospital tomorrow?” Zhang Li Xue asked. “I’ll bring over your dinner.”

“It’s alright. I don’t have the night shift tomorrow,” Bai Qi said. “However, I already made an appointment with someone else.”

Zhang Li Xue raised a brow. “Who are you meeting?”

“It’s a secret.” Bai Qi laughed when Zhang Li Xue turned quiet for a while. “Don’t worry. The person I’m going to meet is a man.”

“I’m not worried about this. Anyway, I trust you.”

The smile on his lips stretched up. He liked how Zhang Li Xue trusted him without question.

“I’m just curious to know what secret you are keeping from me,” Zhang Li Xue continued.

“I will tell you about it later,” Bai Qi said. “I’m a little worried that the discussion would not end up as well as I wanted it to be.”

“Is there anything I can help with?”

“It’s alright. But if the discussion did not go well, I might still need your help.”

Her brow furrowed. If it was something that she could help with, then, perhaps, it was not regarding his work.

Zhang Li Xue was still curious. However, she could only wait or Bai Qi to tell her about it some other time. He should have his own reason for keeping it a secret. She also believed that Bai Qi would tell her about it when the time comes.

The two of them chatted for a while before they hung up.

Her boyfriend still needed to work and she did not want to disturb him.

Zhang Li Xue was preparing to go to bed when someone knocked on her door.

“Li Xue, are you still awake?”

Zhang Li Xue was surprised to hear her father’s voice. “Daddy, I’m still awake. Hold on. I’ll open the door.”

She glanced at the clock and opened the door to find her father standing in front of her.

“Daddy, what is it?” She looked at the clothes he was wearing and noted that he had just returned home from the office. “Did you just get home?”

“Mhmm...” Zhang Yu Han had a faint smile on his face. “Li Xue, I have something to talk to you about. Next week, I’m heading to H City to look at the new hotel’s construction. Do you want to come with me?”

“Next week?”

Zhang Yu Han nodded. “You and your brother are going to take over the business anyway. It’s time for you to learn about some things. Don’t worry. I will talk to your manager about this.”

Zhang Li Xue pursed her lips. “I don’t have anything planned for next week. Alright. Daddy, I will go with you.”

“Then, I will let my assistant hand you the program.” Zhang Yu Han stretched his hand and patted his daughter on her head. “Alright. You can go to sleep now.”

“Un. Good night, Daddy.”
