327 I’m Not Very Happy

The black vehicle pulled over in the usual parking spot and a pair of long legs came out a few seconds later.

Zhang Yu Han walked into the house and headed upstairs.

His steps halted as he walked in front of his daughter’s room. Zhang Yu Han raised his hand, wanting to knock on the door. However, a few seconds later, he retracted his hands quickly.

At this time, his daughter had probably gone to bed.

The lights were still on when he walked in. His wife was sitting on the winged chair with a book in her hand. When she heard him enter, Li Qin Yao put down the book and looked at him with a bright smile on her face.

“You’re back.” Li Qin Yao walked over and helped her husband to take off his coat. Just as she was about to help him loosen his tie, Zhang Yu Han leaned over and wrapped his arms around her waist.

His hug was a little tight, startling her.

She could sense that her husband was not in a good mood.

“It’s Bai Qi.”

Li Qin Yao thought that she had misheard her husband’s words. “Bai Qi? Our daughter’s boyfriend?” She was puzzled by this information.

Meeting Bai Qi made her husband unhappy. What happened between the two of them?

All sorts of wild thoughts went through her mind, making her worry about her daughter now.

“Un.” Zhang Yu Han nodded. “He called me a few days ago, wanting to meet me. Just now, I was having dinner with him.”

Li Qin Yao calmed down.

Initially, she had thought that her husband had run into Bai Qi during his meeting with a client. However, it turned out that her husband was meeting Bai Qi.

“He asked me permission to marry Li Xue,” Zhang Yu Han spoke slowly.

“Ah?” Li Qin Yao could not hide her shock. She pulled away and looked at her husband. “You met Bai Qi and discussed our daughter?”

Knowing her husband’s love for their daughter made her worry again.

“Qin Yao, I’m not very happy.” Zhang Yu Han pouted. He could still remember holding his daughter for the first time. That little baby nestled in his arms and smiled. And now, some pig wanted to take away the cabbage that he raised and doted on.

Li Qin Yao looked at her husband helplessly. He was already this old and was still sulking. However, she could not help thinking that her husband was cute like this.

She took his hand and dragged him over to the sofa. Once they were both seated, Li Qin Yao looked at her husband again. “Then, what did you say to him?”

“You don’t know how much I wanted to reject him,” Zhang Yu Han spoke. “But our daughter really liked him, didn’t she?”

“Mhmm...” Li Qin Yao nodded. She could not tell her husband that she also liked this future son-in-law. Hearing his words, Li Qin Yao was quick to realize that her husband had not rejected him.

This made her feel more at ease.

“During that meal, I have given it a long thought,” Zhang Yu Han continued. “I might not like this young man that much, but if he can make my daughter happy, then I have no choice but to give him a chance.”

If Bai Qi was someone who got close to his daughter to use her for wealth or reputation, then, it would be easier for him to shoot him down.

Zhang Yu Han investigated Bai Qi after he was introduced as his daughter’s boyfriend. Moreover, Qi Zheng seemed to have a high opinion of him as well.

He could also see that his wife had treated Bai Qi quite well.

He saw that Bai Qi had good character and liked his daughter a lot.

However, he was still worried about his daughter. What if this young man hides well and will bully his daughter later?

As a father, he could not stop worrying about his princess.

“Then, you are feeling uncomfortable because of it?” Li Qin Yao asked. A sigh escaped her when her husband did not answer. She grabbed his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.

“Yu Han, I know that you loved our daughter very much,” Li Qin Yao said. “But, if Li Xue had made her choice, then, we have to respect her. I trusted Li Xue’s judgment. I’m her mother, therefore, her taste in a man shouldn’t be too bad.”

Zhang Yu Han finally laughed when he heard his wife’s words. “You are right. You do have a good taste in a man.”

Leaning over, Zhang Yu Han then wrapped his arms around his wife’s body tightly.

He also knew that he should respect his daughter’s choice. He understood that his daughter had grown up this big and that later, she will leave the house and start a new life with her partner.

Even though Zhang Yu Han knew all of this, he was still feeling uncomfortable.

“It wouldn’t be so bad,” Li Qin Yao said. “Maybe next time, you can have another person who will accompany you to play basketball.”

The corner of his lips began to twitch.
