360 What was He Thinking About?

Fang Su Jin grew excited as she watched Bai Qi slide the ring onto Zhang Li Xue’s finger. However, she was regretting that they were not close enough for her to zoom in and look at the ring on her finger.

A faint sigh escaped her. Although they were not close enough, Fang Su Jin could still see the smile on Zhang Li Xue’s lips. Seeing that her best friend was so happy made her happy as well.

Suddenly, Fang Su Jin saw that a tissue paper had appeared by her side. She turned around and saw Zhang Yi Hai’s awkward face.

“Sister Fang, you’re crying again.”

Fang Su Jin pursed her lips tightly. “I can’t help it. I’m easily touched.” She took the tissue paper from Zhang Yi Hai. Then, she shot a warning gaze at him. “Don’t mock me.”

Zhang Yi Hai thought that her threatening gaze did not look scary at all. In fact, Fang Su Jin looked like an adorable kitten. The threatening look did not have any effect on her face. He really wanted to pinch her cheek.

As the thought came to his mind, Zhang Yi Hai quickly looked away. He silently scolded himself for his ridiculous thought.

This was his sister’s friend.

“I wasn’t mocking you,” Zhang Yi Hai spoke. His voice was a whisper.

Fang Su Jin dabbed the tears on her face. “But, Zhang Yi Hai, I did not expect that you would give Bai Qi a hand and help him with this proposal. I thought that you did not like him.”

“I never said that I did not like him.”

“In the past, didn’t you always chase away those men away from getting closer to your sister?”

Zhang Yi Hai smiled but did not answer. It was true that he often chase away those men from his sister. But he had his reason as well. He did not think that others would understand. Zhang Li Xue was his sister and it was his responsibility to protect her.

“Why do you decide to help Bai Qi?” Fang Su Jin asked again when the young man did not say a word.

Zhang Yi Hai looked in the direction where his sister and Bai Qi were standing. The couple was still talking, it was not known just what were they talking about.

“Why not?” Zhang Yi Hai said. “A lot of things happened to my sister recently. I just wanted her to be happy. My sister deserved that. Brother Bai Qi could make her happy. Of course, I would give him a helping hand.”

Fang Su Jin stared at the young man in front of her for a long time. “Zhang Yi Hai, I did not expect that you would be very nice.”

Her words made Zhang Yi Hai laugh.

Seeing the smile on his face startled her.

When he was still young, Zhang Yi Hai was quite adorable, running around after his sister. But when he grew up, Zhang Yi Hai often look unfriendly. There was often a scowl on his face.

Fang Su Jin could not remember just when did she start to feel that Zhang Yi Hai was a scary person.

But when Zhang Yi Hai smiled, he was quite good-looking as well.

Fang Su Jin quickly looked away before she would get swayed by this man. “That... Zhang Yi Hai, now that the proposal is successful, what should we do next? Should we go over?”

Zhang Yi Hai pondered upon her words and thought that they should go over as well. There are still a few matters he wanted to say to them.

“Let’s go over.”

The two of them came out of their hiding place and headed out to the couple.

Bai Qi was the first to notice their presence. He leaned over to whisper to Zhan Li Xue before he stood up. Perhaps he has been kneeling down on one knee for a long time. When he stood up again, Bai Qi could feel that his legs were a little numb.

Fortunately, he could still lean on the wheelchair.

“Zhang Li Xue!” Fang Su Jin walked over in excitement. “Congratulations!”

“Sister, Brother Bai Qi, congratulations,” Zhang Yi Hai spoke. His gaze stayed on Bai Qi for a few seconds. “Then, should I start addressing you as my brother-in-law?”

The atmosphere around them turned quiet.

The situation made Zhang Yi Hai feel a little awkward. He thought that perhaps it was still too early for him to change the way he addressed Bai Qi.

Zhang Li Xue looked at her brother with a shy look in her eyes. But her heart was secretly happy.

“Zhang Yi Hai, thank you for your help.”

Zhang Yi Hai nodded. He looked at his sister again and spoke, “I’m guessing that you and my sister are going for a walk now. Then, I will hand over my sister to you. But, Bother Bai Qi, please remember that my mother is waiting for you two at home.”

Zhang Li Xue gasped. From her brother’s words, it seemed that her mother also knew about Bai Qi’s plan. Was she the only person who did not know anything?

Bai Qi pondered over Zhang Yi Hai’s words before giving him his answer. “Then, I will send back your sister before dinner.”
