399 A Little Chubbier

The two friends planned to meet at the coffee shop in the mall.

When Fang Su Jin arrived, Zhang Li Xue was already waiting with her mother. Fang Su Jin walked over and greeted Li Qin Yao at the coffee shop. After a brief chat, Li Qin Yao left Zhang Li Xue to Fang Su Jin.

Fang Su Jin pushed the wheelchair and laughed upon seeing the cheerful Zhang Li Xue. “Are you that happy that you can go out and play around?”

Zhang Li Xue nodded enthusiastically. “Su Jin, I’m bored to death, staying at home and doing nothing. Everyone won’t allow me to do anything with my injury.”

“Hey, you’re a pampered princess.” Fang Su Jin crossed her arms on her chest and clicked her tongue. “Hmm... Are you showing off to me now?”

Zhang Li Xue blinked her eyes innocently. “Of course, not.”

Fang Su Jin saw the look on Zhang Li Xue’s face and suddenly had the urge to pinch her face.

Zhang Li Xue frowned when her friend pinched her cheek. “Why is it that every one like to pinch my cheek? Su Jin, do you think that I’m gaining weight?”

As the thought came to her mind, Zhang Li Xue started to panic.

“Su Jin, look at me.” Zhang Li Xue tugged at her friend’s sleeve. “Do you think I’m gaining weight?”

Fang Su Jin took a step back and gave her friend a lookover. “Well, you do look a little chubbier.”

Zhang Li Xue pursed her lips. Because of her injury, her mother has been preparing a lot of tonics to help her heal faster. Each day, she was forced to drink some soup to nourish her health.

In the past, Zhang Li Xue never cared about the amount of food she take. She could always spend a few hours on the basketball court to burn some calories.

These days, she has been sitting in a wheelchair without moving around that much.

No wonder Fang Su Jin would say that she looked a little chubbier.

Taking a deep breath, Zhang Li Xue decided to go on a diet. Even if her mother told her to drink some tonic, she will have to decline!

“Actually, I think you look prettier this way,” Fang Su Jin spoke. “Your cheek is full and rosy. I bet that Doctor Qi would think that hugging you would feel comfortable too.”

Zhang Li Xue’s face turned redder upon hearing her friend’s words. “What are you saying?”

Fang Su Jin laughed happily upon seeing the shy look on her friend’s face. “That reminds me...” A mischievous smile appeared on her lips. “What did Doctor Bai think about my gift? Did he like it?”

Zhang Li Xue could not help but recall her wedding night when she wore that lingerie under her pajama. Later, a certain someone liked it very much and would not let her take it off for a long time.

As the thought came to her mind, Zhang Li Xue’s face turned red like a cooked lobster. “Alright. Stop teasing me. Let’s go and shop around now.”

Fang Su Jin saw that Zhang Li Xue was shy and could not help to tease her a little bit. Then, she pushed Zhang Li Xue’s wheelchair around the mall as they went shopping for a few items together.

Zhang Li Xue spent a long time picking some clothes for Bai Qi. Then, she saw a few cute dresses for Bai Xi Xi and bought them as well.

Seeing the number of clothes she bought gave Zhang Li Xue satisfaction.

As they were walking around the male department, Fang Su Jin’s eyes fell on the basketball jersey on display. A face came to her mind and her face turned hot.

When she realized that she was thinking about a certain someone, Fang Su Jin shook her head and scold herself.

Why was she thinking of Zhang Yi Hai again?

It must be because of his sudden confession. That young man was messing up with her mind.

“Su Jin?”

The voice snapped her out of her trance. Fang Su Jin turned around only to find that Zhang Li Xue was looking at her inquiringly.

“What are you thinking about?” Zhang Li Xue asked. “I called your name a few times, but you were spacing out.”

Fang Su Jin panicked, but she was quick to control her emotion. “Didn’t I tell you that I was working on a new painting? I was thinking about it. My mentor hoped that I could come up with a new piece, but I can’t think of anything.”

Zhang Li Xue nodded. “Mmm... You mentioned the last time that you are going to hold another joint exhibition.” She looked at her casted leg and sighed. “If my leg is not injured, I would definitely go and support you.”

A smile curled on her lips. “It’s alright. Even though you can’t be at the scene, I know that you are always supporting me.”

Zhang Li Xue looked at her friend for a long time. “Well, even if I can’t go, I can always send a representative.”

“What representative?” The moment the question came out, Fang Su Jin realized that she already know the answer.

“Yi Hai is in Capital City.” Zhang Li Xue smiled. “I’ll let him go and look around.”

Fang Su Jin’s heart started to beat faster upon hearing the name.

“Don’t bother him,” Fang Su Jin spoke quickly. “Your brother should be busy with his assignments and classes, right?”

Zhang Li Xue waved her hand. “Studying too much isn’t good for him. He should go out for a walk and rest his mind a little bit.” She already made her decision to ask her brother to attend her friend’s exhibition in her stead.

Fang Su Jin recalled how Zhang Yi Hai had invited his classmates as well as a few famous people to her exhibition. The reporters came and gave the exhibition special coverage because of the special guests.

Her last exhibition has been the talk of many people for a few weeks because of Zhang Yi Hai.

Suddenly, Fang Su Jin was worried that something like that was going to happen again.

Currently, she was still trying to figure out what was going on between her and Zhang Yi Hai. Then, there was still the answer that she was supposed to give him. If Zhang Yi Hai brought everyone to her exhibition again, then, she would definitely go panic!
