Fang Su Jin crouched beside the wheelchair and held Zhang Li Xue’s hands. She did not like it when her best friend was cold to her. If something happened and we broke up, then what will happen to our friendship? It would be awkward for me to find you again. After all, you are Yi Hai’s sister. I don’t want us to stop being friends.”

Zhang Li Xue stared at her friend in disbelief. There was a long silence between them and the only sounds they could hear were Fang Su Jin’s sniffles. After a while, Zhang Li Xue inhaled a deep breath. The look in her eyes had turned gentler. “Su Jin, you’re an idiot.”

“Yes, I am the biggest idiot.” Fang Su Jin lowered her gaze and wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes. Whatever it is that Zhang Li Xue said, she would agree to it.

“Even if the two of you break up, I won’t lose you as my friend,” Zhang Li Xue said. “Instead, I would help you to beat my brother.”

Fang Su Jin sniffled. “Why are you going to beat your brother?”

“Isn’t it obvious? If the two of you break up, it must be Yi Hai’s fault. Anyway, he is an idiot who did not know how to treat a woman nicely.”

“Su Jin, you silly woman, look at what you’ve done,” Zhang Li Xue spoke between her sobs. “You made me cry as well.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Then, stop crying.”

Fang Su Jin pulled away and sniffled. Her face turned red as she had to suppress herself from crying again.

Zhang Li Xue thought that the look on Fang Su Jin’s face was too funny. She could not help but laugh and cry at the same time.

The two girls looked at each other and suddenly, the air around them began to improve as well.

Fang Su Jin inhaled a deep breath and spoke. “Li Xue, I’m sorry. Will you forgive me? Don’t be angry alright?”

“You have to promise that you will never hide something so important from me again.”

Fang Su Jin raised a hand. “I promise.”

Zhang Li Xue heaved a sigh. “Then, come here.” She waved her hand, motioning for Fang Su Jin to come closer so that she could hug her again.

“Su Jin,” Zhang Li Xue called after a brief silence between them.

“En?”

“Quick. Call me sister-in-law.”

Fang Su Jin’s lips twitched. She could not believe that this friend was still teasing her.
