626 Dinner

Fang Su Jin put on a pretty dress and light makeup on her face. Someone pressed the doorbell just as she was checking herself in the mirror. Fang Su Jin walked to the door and peeked into the peephole.

The smile on her face widened upon seeing Zhang Yi Hai’s handsome face.

Fang Su Jin opened the door and gave Zhang Yi Hai a lookover.

The man looked handsome in his blue shirt. Her gaze then stopped at the watch around his wrist. Before she could praise his good look, Zhang Yi Hai leaned over and pressed his lips at the corner of her lips.

“Su Jin, you look pretty.”

Fang Su Jin laughed. “Well, thank you. Zhang Yi Hai, you look very handsome yourself.” She raised her head and met his gaze. Suddenly, her breath felt as if it was stuck in her throat.

Somehow, there was something in Zhang Yi Hai’s gaze that made her feel a little breathless. It was making her cheek hot and her breathing hastened.

Fang Su Jin blinked. When she looked at Zhang Yi Hai again, Fang Su Jin realized that the look had already disappeared.

Her head tilted to one side. Fang Su Jin wondered if she was imagining things.

Zhang Yi Hai stretched his hand at her. “Come on, let’s get going.”

Taking a deep breath, Fang Su Jin put her hand on Zhang Yi Hai’s. She locked the door behind her and went out with her boyfriend.

However, the moment they reached the parking spot, Fang Su Jin began to notice that there was something wrong. As Zhang Yi Hai helped her with the door, Fang Su Jin turned to look at him and asked, “Are your parents not coming with us?”

His lips turned into a faint smile. “Mmm... Uncle Lu invited them to have dinner at their place. Tonight, there will be only us.”

Fang Su Jin felt her heart skip a beat.

Somehow, she could not help but feel that there was something strange about this night. However, Fang Su Jin could not pinpoint what was that strange thing.

Seeing that Zhang Yi Hai was holding the door for her, Fang Su Jin slid into the passenger’s seat. Then, she watched as Zhang Yi Hai walked around the car and got into the driver’s seat.

“Where are we going?” Fang Su Jin asked as the vehicle entered the main street.

“I made a reservation at a restaurant. It’s a western restaurant. Are you alright with it?”

“It’s alright,” Fang Su Jin said. “It’s your graduation day. You’re supposed to pick the place.”

The restaurant was located on a hill, away from the city center.

Zhang Yi Hai pulled over the vehicle in front of the restaurant and handed the car key to the jockey. Then, he held Fang Su Jin’s hand and led her into the restaurant.

A man in a suit and tie greeted them at the entrance. Once Zhang Yi Hai gave his name, the two of them were led upstairs.

The couple was seated beside the window where they could see the city’s night view.

After ordering the food and drinks, Fang Su Jin looked out the window and thought that the view was very pretty. The city looked very bright and lively. After a while, she turned to Zhang Yi Hai again, wanting to talk to him about the view.

Just as she turned to look at her boyfriend again, Fang Su Jin realized that Zhang Yi Hai was staring at her. His gaze was intense and full of emotion.

Fang Su Jin thought that she could almost see the stars in his eyes.

As the thought came to her mind, Fang Su Jin began to wonder if she was crazy.

“You... why are you looking at me like that?”

Zhang Yi Hai chuckled. “What’s wrong with looking at my pretty girlfriend?”

Fang Su Jin snorted as she reached for the glass of water in front of her. “Zhang Yi Hai, you’re getting really good at saying sweet words.”

“Mmm... I ate a lot of sweets recently.”

Fang Su Jin stared back at Zhang Yi Hai quizzically. Then, she realized that the man was staring at her lips for a long time.

Just like that, her cheek turned redder.

Fang Su Jin wanted to ask him what he meant, but her skin was too thin and she could not let Zhang Yi Hai tease her again.

Fortunately, their appetizers arrived and the two of them started to dig into their food.

As she did not want to give Zhang Yi Hai a chance to tease her, Fang Su Jin began to ask her boyfriend a few questions about his work and what he planned to do, now that he had graduated.

Although Fang Su Jin did not understand much about her boyfriend’s work, she really do enjoy listening to him talk.

Fang Su Jin thought that Zhang Yi Hai’s voice was quite soothing.

Since they were having a romantic dinner, the couple decided to have a three-course meal. They did not have to wait for too long between their course.

One and a half hours later, their desserts were served.

Fang Su Jin looked at her chocolate mousse cake and ate it happily. When she looked at her boyfriend again, Fang Su Jin realized that Zhang Yi Hai looked a little pale.

The young man continued to poke into his bavarian mango with his dessert spoon, almost as if he was going to destroy them.

“Yi Hai?” Fang Su Jin tilted her head to one side when the man raised his head to look at her. “Are you not going to eat that?”

The bavarian mango and strawberry macaroon he ordered looked delicious. If Zhang Yi Hai did not want them, she did not mind volunteering to finish them for him.

Zhang Yi Hai lowered his gaze and finally realized what he had done.

Taking a deep breath, Zhang Yi Hai put down his dessert spoon and looked his girlfriend in the eyes. “Fang Su Jin.”

“Ah?” Fang Su Jin was startled upon hearing him calling her name suddenly.

“I have something to say. Do you remember about my request?”

Fang Su Jin nodded. Actually, she too wanted to talk to Zhang Yi Hai about his request. He told her that he was going to talk about it during dinner.

“Un. Of course, I remember. What is it that you want?”

Her mind whirled to think of what her boyfriend would request from her. Looking at the anxious look on his face made her wonder if it was something naughty...

It couldn’t be, right?
