Chapter 52 Legacy Search

After sleeping for seven hours, it was nighttime when Alex woke up after taking a cold shower to freshen up; he was ready to return to the game world and finish his unfinished business.

"Finally, I don't need to worry about logging out after every thirty hours." Alex thought, looking at his new magnificent VR capsule.

"This VR capsule is much more comfortable than my bed."

After appreciating his new VR capsule's premium build quality, Alex launched the game, and after doing the iris and fingerprint scan, he was back in the game world.

----------------

"I should start by collecting the three [SS] Rank Legacies I need to give Badger in one week." Alex thought, walking toward the city exit.

Alex's goal was to collect the three legacies and buy the last piece of the Monarch tomb key from a black market merchant NPC and complete the deal with badger and Ravenglades guild.

"I should also complete the Duke Harold Quest while searching for the War Priestess Legacy Tomb in the Swamp Forest." Alex planned to complete the Duke's quest and find his first of the three [SS] Rank legacy.

After making his plan, Alex didn't waste any time as he only had at most ten hours before logging out to talk with Dr. Elmer about the results of Sophia's MRI Scan report.

"I would need some Teleportation Marker." Alex thought after making a plan to acquire the legacy easily.

Teleportation Marker was a consumable item used to mark a location that a player could travel to anytime by using a Rank three teleportation scroll.

Alex searched the player auction and bought four teleportation markers, each one for a thousand gold coins; even though they were expensive for a consumable item, their use case was worth every gold coin.

Alex also bought some return scrolls with the Royal City as the set destination and purchased some luxurious Mana bread and expensive potions filling his empty inventory.

After getting all the supplies, Alex rented a carriage and started his journey toward one of the worst places in the Ice kingdom, the Swamp forest.

----------------

'I hate this place so much.' Alex thought as half his body was submerged in muddy water that he could see nothing inside.

Alex was traveling through the swamp forest's inner area using stealth to hide his presence, but because of the unavoidable swamps, he was afraid that he would get attacked and killed before reaching his destination.

'If I die, I will not return to this hell hole. I rather do four days' worth of quest and get the healing class [SS] Rank legacy.' Alex thought as he was now fully submerged in water, only leaving his mouth and eyes out.

Alex could take the longer route and travel through smaller swamps to reach his location, but it would take more than twenty hours of traveling, and he doesn't have that much time to waste and risk traveling in this hell of a place without stealth.

'Badger would pay a premium to get this legacy, or he could forget the deal.' Alex was getting angry with every passing second, but he had no choice but to endure this torture to acquire the legacy.

'I hope I don't get discovered by those hate full abominations.' Alex thought after he entered an area that most players would not enter, even for a thousand gold coins.

Alex was in one of the worst places in swam forest, "Golden Frog Habitat," and this place was one of the biggest scams done by the world.

Golden Frog Habitat, as its name implies, was home to thousands of golden frogs with a beautiful appearance compared to most of the frogs in the game, but that was the only good thing about these abominations.

The golden frogs were one of the most hated monsters in the whole game

because they were one of the hardest monsters to kill and dropped absolutely nothing after their death.

The golden frogs have natural defensive skin that negates 40% of every physical attack that is not guaranteed to kill them instantly, and their skin also has 90% magic defense making it quite a task to kill them.

The golden frogs spewed liquid that smelled terrible and was corrosive enough to damage high-quality equipment.

The frogs were not a peaceful monster type either, as they would attack you in groups, and if that were not enough reason to hate these monsters, their trump card was still left, as any player who killed a golden frog would get a random Debuff for twenty-four hours.

-------------------

After traveling through the terrible environment for thirty minutes, Alex reached his destination, the core area of Golden Frog Habitat.

'This place is crawling with these abnormalities.' Alex thought, seeing his target place crawling with golden frogs.

Alex was fully submerged in the water, looking at a giant tree that held the War Priestess Legacy Tomb and the home of thousands of golden frogs.

'I need to get inside the tree and find the War Priestess Legacy Tomb and place teleportation marker at the entrances of the tomb.'

Alex's plan was simple, but the tree was huge and filled with golden frogs that would rip him apart the moment he got discovered, and with the monster population inside the tree, it would be hard to stay in stealth.

'I could only try my luck and hope to find the legacy tomb quickly.' Alex thought, deciding to act according to the situation.

Alex knew there was a legacy tomb inside this giant tree, but he didn't know the location of the legacy tomb, making this a suicide mission.

Alex tried to remember any detail from his previous life as to where the legacy tomb could be, but he didn't find any memory related to the location of the legacy tomb.

'The Legacy Tomb should be at the bottom of this giant tree.' Alex chose to search from the bottom as it was the only logical place to hide a big magic tomb.

After selecting his target, Alex took twenty minutes of slow and careful swimming to reach the hard ground around the tree.

'I hope no frog jumps on me while climbing the tree.' Alex thought, looking at the only entrances in the giant tree, which was close to a hundred meters high.

The big tree was an astounding four hundred meters in height, and there was no ladder or anything to enter the tree, leaving only one possible choice to climb the tree manually.

The climb was not the problem, but the golden frogs coming in and out of the tree entrances every second in large numbers was a hindrance as there was no possible way to avoid crashing into them if one climbed straight toward the tree entrance.

'I should climb from the side and wait for the opportunity to enter the tree.' Alex made a simple plan and started climbing the tree, staying further away from the golden frog climbing route.

'There should be enough time to enter.' After waiting for ten minutes, Alex finally got the opportunity.

Alex didn't waste a second and used every bit of strength to traverse toward the tree entrance, and he reached it in a couple of seconds without any problem.

'I need to find a way that leads me to tree roots.' Alex swiftly left the tree entrances to search for a destination in this giant hollow tree.

The tree has multiple floors, and every floor is big enough to house close to a hundred golden frogs, and as the tree was filled with simple routes, Alex easily found the holes that frogs use to go on lower floors.

'Ths place smell worst then the stories.' Alex thought as he struggled not to vomit.

The more floors Alex descended harder it was getting for him to breathe as the golden frog's terrible smell was getting worse every second.

'How did the "Corrupted Wizards" Guild members even fight and clean this place?' Alex was really questioning the sanity of "Corrupted Wizards" Guild members after breathing in this hell hole for a few minutes.

'There are only two possible answers to the situation either the "Corrupted Wizards" Guild members are masochists who like smelling terrible smells, or they were clearing this place for a big reason which they never revealed to the world.'

In Alex's previous life, the Corrupted Wizards Guild cleared the Golden Frog Habitat and accidentally found the War Priestess Legacy Tomb and acquired the [SS] Rank legacy.

All the information Alex knew was from the video series that Corrupted Wizards Guild released named "Foolish Pride," which got popular because it was fascinating to watch.

The Dungeon and Boss Raids were enjoyable to watch, but they were very long and got repetitive after watching hundreds of raids with the guild using the same strategies.

The guild started making movies and series by using their raid videos, editing them, and using scripted scenes to make them look like real movies and releasing them in real-world VR theaters and video platforms.
