Chapter 75 War Had Begun

As Tang Qiaolian worked alongside Karl from the Cancer Guild, back in the real world, Lei Zhen was glancing at the clock.

"Just one more hour and I'll be done." He muttered, feeling uncomfortable with the slow time.

It reminded him of school's lecture where the time went by extremely slow.

The convenience store was peaceful and every customer was practically in a rush to buy some snacks before leaving, most likely returning to the hospital.

After all, some of the customers are occasionally nurses that were still in their uniform.

ραпdα nᴏνa| сom And during this time, he managed to have a conversation with a familiar nurse that had a similar fate as his sister.

The nurse told him that a patient had a car accident ten years ago and lost function in both her legs.

The patient's details are confidential and are not supposed to be disclosed, but the nurse knew Lei Zhen's sister was the same, who is currently comatose due to a car accident.

"Sigh, even though we're in a new era, car accidents are still happening." The nurse showed a sad expression as she waited for Lei Zhen to finish calculating the price.

"Indeed, but this is just what our world is. Cars are useful transportation, but can also be a deadly weapon." Lei Zhen said calmly, packing the last item in the bag.

"Here, I placed some gummies there for that patient of yours. Losing both functions of her legs would be devastating, but having some gummies wouldn't be so bad." He added.

"Am I being charged for the gummies as well?" The nurse jokingly asked.

"Of course not, this is my goodwill toward that patient." Lei Zhen shook his head and smiled.

Sometime later, the nurse left the store and Lei Zhen took a seat.

He glanced at the shelves in a daze and wondered what the coincidence was for someone to have a car accident ten years ago as well.

It was a shame that he barely had many memories regarding the accident and whenever he tried to recall, there was always a painful moment, almost as if a thousand needles were piercing his brain.

Shaking his head, Lei Zhen continued working his night shift until a new coworker came over to take the new shift.

The new coworker was a college student majoring in computer engineering technology, Simon Chen.

"Hello, you must be the new part-time worker Lei Zhen, right? I'm Simon Chen, here to take over the shift." Simon Chen was 170 centimeters in height and had a friendly smile on his face. His hair was blackish in color and had pretty toned muscle.

"Yes, inside the lounge is the newly arrived Nutrient Solutions, so I'll let you handle that." Lei Zhen had already changed back into his clothes and informed him what was needed to do.

"Alright then, leave it to me." Simon smiled and hurriedly got to work.

After turning the shift to Simon, Lei Zhen clocked out and ran toward the train station.

During the time there were no customers, he had been researching the geographical environment around Yors Castle and information regarding the royal family tree.

And the more he researched, the more he realized the item known as Ferold's Ring had not been mentioned at all. That could only mean the Ferold's Ring itself was either unknown to the players or it was something that happened before the launch of Magnolia.

Time slowly passed by, and Lei Zhen finally arrived home, only to realize Tang Qiaolian was still inside the MagnoPod. The food he cooked for her was left untouched.

"Is she really a nurse? How can she play for this long and not worry about her hospital job?" He muttered in disbelief.

Putting the dishes back into the fridge since she wasn't going to eat them anytime soon, Lei Zhen tidied the room first before hopping back to the MagnoPod.

His days had always consisted of eating, studying, sleeping, and repeating the process. Besides the time he visited Lei Qingxuan in the hospital, his life could be summarized in one word: dull.

Hence, entering Magnolia gave him a newfound excitement, even if he was met with unlucky encounters one after another.

It was exciting and entertaining, something that brings bright color into his dark-color world.

Laying beside the MagnoPod, Lei Zhen glanced at Tang Qiaolian's side for a second before closing in.

As always, his vision blurred for a few moments, and when he reopened his eyes, he was sitting in the tent.

Feeling the different clothes texture and his Robe of the Archmagi, Lei Zhen was instantly revitalized as he prepared to tackle any obstacles on his path.

When he walked out of the tent, he was instantly greeted by an imperial guard.

"Sir, you've finally come out." The imperial guard seemed to be in joy when he saw Lei Zhen come out of the tent.

After all, it might have been a few hours for Lei Zhen in the outside world, but in Magnolia, almost 2 days had gone by.

"What's the matter?" Lei Zhen remained calm and asked.

"Princess Kate told me to bring you over to her new camp the moment you came out." The imperial guard said frantically and explained what had happened.

Although he didn't know why it took this long for Lei Zhen to come out, he dared not pry nor ask for information. Everyone in the imperial guards knew Lei Zhen's status was not small since Kate listened to his instructions.

"I see what happened, you can go rest now. I'll go over to Kate's camp." Lei Zhen waved his hand and dismissed the imperial guard.

It wasn't as serious as he thought the situation would be since he had followed the current event in the real world. Hence, he knew the war had begun already between the two princes.

His devious plan worked in wonder, and now public opinions supported Prince Carter in capturing Prince Leon because of his wicked scheme against Princess Kate.

Though there was one point that surprised him slightly.

The lack of action from the king was highly suspicious in Lei Zhen's mind.

'Did the king really plan to abdicate to whoever wins this war or what?' Lei Zhen wondered silently.

He had a feeling that he was missing an important jigsaw piece in the puzzle to complete the whole picture.
