Lei Zhen was exhilarated when he saw his level rise up to 17 after completing the mission from Kate.
His experience points may be cursed from killing monsters, but that doesn't stop him from receiving the proper experience points from major missions.
And since he rose from level 12 to level 17, his skill tree unlocked a new spell that required him to be level 15, Blind.
Blind was self-explanatory as its name stated. It can temporarily blind a person's sight from their surroundings.
Unfortunately, Lei Zhen didn't have time to work on upgrading his skill trees or increasing his other stats points because he still needed to assist Kate.
After leaving the demilitarized zone, they were now on their way to return to Yors Castle.
Now that the war officially ended with the surrender of both princes, the aftermath was the true headache for Lei Zhen.
The environment was ravaged by the war and numerous lives were affected, everything needed preparation and money to repair.
"Ugh, screw those two idiot princes. Legit, all they know is start a war, but don't know what kind of consequences it'll result in." Lei Zhen kicked the soil in frustration when he thought about having to work even harder.
Of course, while he had this sudden outburst, it was practically heard by everyone that was following behind him.
Those included Princess Kate, Griselda, and most importantly, the two princes that were being heavily guarded to be escorted.
Being called an idiot by him publicly, naturally, the two princes were displeased, but under the intense glare by Kate, they kept silent but revealed an angry expression.
"Um... Chancellor, we are in public." Kate kindly reminded him.
She didn't know what was going on in his mind, but she could tell it was definitely something frustrating for him to have such an outburst.
Not even when the situation was dire for them did Lei Zhen curse like that.
Meanwhile, Griselda was laughing non stop because she could never fathom the surprise that Lei Zhen could give her. He somehow always had a knack to make her laugh in unexpected scenarios.
As Griselda continued laughing, Prince Leon and Prince Carter glared at her furiously.
"What? Mad that I'm laughing at you two failures?" Griselda was not a kind person and instantly snickered at the two princes.
"I merely used 1 percent of my brain to stomp your petite armies. So what if I laugh at the two of you?" She hissed coldly.
After dissing them, Griselda walked ahead and followed behind Lei Zhen.
"Pfft, I'm so glad I joined Princess Kate's faction early."
"I know right, following these two princes… one must really have dropped their brain cell around the corner."
"Shh, look at that Prince Leon staring at us now. We shouldn't be so nasty since we used to serve him before."
"Kekw, please don't remind me of my dark history. Swearing my allegiance to him was a stain to my name."
The imperial guards shook their heads as they continued to escort the two princes, who were practically on the verge of attacking.
Alas, their magic was disabled, and had no other method of defeating a single guard around them. They could only grit their teeth and withstand this kind of humiliation.
No matter how much they are humiliated, there was not a single person that would step up to defend them. That was the outcome of a loser and failure in an attempt to rebel.
Time slowly passed by, and soon, they arrived at the entrance of Yors Castle.
The soldiers that were guarding the towers started raising their bows, ready to attack the incoming intruders.
"I'm Princess Kate, and here to report to my father that the two princes' rebellions have ceased." Kate stepped forward and revealed her appearance.
"It's true! Princess Kate has returned!"
"Quickly, open the gate and lower the bridge for Princess Kate to enter."
The soldiers that were guarding hurriedly announced in joy. Given how they were all cut off by the two princes, there had not been a single piece of information received from the outside.
It was only until they had seen Princess Kate did they realize the rebellion of the two princes had ended.
As the bridge lowered, Kate turned toward Lei Zhen.
"Let's go meet my father. I'm sure my father would reward you heavily for your achievement." She said excitedly.
Lei Zhen yawned slightly and nodded his head. It was about time he received the reward that he was supposed to receive, the Tome of Demise.
Apparently, the rewards mentioned won't be given until he had an audience with the King and had him personally hand him the reward.
And honestly, Lei Zhen was displeased by this arrangement and wondered why Magnolia would construct such an annoying program.
Why go through so many unnecessary steps?
They should have just given him the reward right away as soon as the mission was completed.
Why should there be another special type of mission where he needed to receive the reward in person?
Alas, no matter how much Lei Zhen wanted to complain, he could only helplessly follow after Kate. When they entered Yors Castle, cheering instantly erupted on all sides from the citizens and soldiers simultaneously.
"Wooooooo, Princess Kate is the best!"
"Out with the two princes! Princess Kate is the savior of Yors Castle!"
"We love you, Princess Kate!"
Whether it's a man or woman, everyone cheered and whistled to pay their respect and gratitude for Princess Kate.
During these gloomy days of not knowing whether they would live or die, Princess Kate's appearance and announcement of her stopping the rebellion of the two princes were like a goddess descent.
Seeing the cheers of her beloved citizens, Kate smiled brightly and waved her hand as she passed by them.
It was like she was walking through a red carpet like some famous celebrity and everyone was hoping to just get a glance of her, even a glimpse was enough to satisfy them.
"Thank you, everyone!" Kate said loudly, greeting them in the process.
